Well, well, well. What we have here is a great cover of a classic song! They just rocked it!
Right on.
Thanks everyone ❤️
Sofia, Gabby, Jack, Olivia have got this!!
Beautifully done.
Awesome job! Nice pop on the drums, sweet harmonies, and it looked like a lot of fun!
Friday ear candy!
Wow! So unexpected and awesome. Wasn't expecting it. Beautifully done!
Outstanding.......................................
Another great cover ! Talent galore in that room 👏
That was fun to watch and listen too❤️❤️❤️❤️
OUTSTANDING!!!
Hell, yeah. That's what I'm talkin' about !!!
What a great cover of a classic song. Great job guys. kept the fun energy of the original without trying to be sly. I was surprised when the dude in the blue polo shirt came out with the deep base, but good harmony across the group
Fantastic y'all!
I was SO STONED when I heard this just a few minutes ago. This was just AWESOME!!!
Speechless. Excellent!
awesome
SoR you've done it again. Superb !!
Unbelievable 🤯❤
How much fun is this one? I love seeing the younger generation embracing the old classics and making it their own, keeping the feel of the original Sly and the Family Stone tune and putting their own spin on it! Well done kids!
Period!
love this!
Wow, Great work...sounds great. keep up the great music
..
When a cover is better than an original… wicked good! 1:37
most excellent, this is exceptional, carry on
The drummer is ass kicking.
How old are these kids? Beautiful! ❤
righteous
Graham would approve of the slap base!

you blast the 🎺🤘 horns 🤘 sO' beautiful 😍❤️
there is no shortage of great musos coming up
Wow, pretty tight gang, well done!
A really good solid cover...I don't undertand how everyone was not grinning from ear to ear. Drummer and lead singer seemed into it though :)
Where were the horns
Needs more seasoning.
You played the music, but you didn't put your soul into it.....
Alwsys someone who critises , a brilliant performance are you jealous because you are not on it 😢
Wow. Well done. Everyone, Excellent in everyway. The background vocals took the cake on this one, my jaw dropped when Jack started.
Totally agree with this comment.
I am still pissed at Sly walking off the stage during the very first song at a show I went to in 1969 or ‘70.
They got famous for not even showing up for their shows. People quit going, and the band soon disappeared.
Very nice , as a 62 yr old I was home when my cousin brought the record home & I ran up stairs with her and listened to the whole thing
That song got me off the chair to the dance floor back then at a party,
Did'nt know how to dance but gotten up for this girl, so I started To sway with the beat and that girl came closer to my ear, she sayd,,,nice! you have swag!!
Did'nt know what it meant at the time, but we maried and still going on after 44 years😍,,, now we swag time To time☺ great song!
At 71, still one of my favorites.
Love the guy intently playing the tambourine
Probably music director at the school. They need to do songs more in tune with the students' voices.
Great music, amazing vocals and fantastic band !
You were brave to take on this song. Sly wrote lots of high energy music, and you did it justice. Great fun!
WOW! Just incredible. I'm old enough to have had this on 8-Track!!!!! I just love to see kids embrace classics like this. Fantastic performance.
No one covers the classics so well as these guys and gals. I'm so impressed.
Every one of them did a fantastic job. Future stars!
I've always loved this song back in middle school days. I really love the vibrant new sound and strong voices. This is A+ quality. This might get you a Grammy..❤️❤️❤️
Thank you for the kind words!
Incredible performance by all.
You got me smiling from ear to ear... Awesome!
Another good preformance you guys and gals never disappoint 🥰
Excellent! New twist on a great classic. Great job by all!!!
Sylvester Stewart, aka "SLY", says........" you better play and sing on, chillun...."
This was so tremendous that if you released it on 8-track, I'd hit the thrift stores just to find something nostalgic to play it on.
No wonder you’re called the All Stars - that was fantastic!!
Great job on a great tune! Drummer was awesome
That was amazing. I could listen to you guys all night long.
Great song, but you rarely hear it covered because the Fam was dynamic across the board like they were all in the zone all the time; no hesitation ever. That said it's good to see these kids make the effort. Keep on trucking !
Thanks, Bob!
such talent love to hear the new stuff
Incredibly well done!😎
Good job, though they used recorded horn section. One of my favorite songs, especially the 5 minute'Remix (or Concert length) version.
Well done. Just wished you really had some horns in there.
Good point! Thank you!
This originally came out in early 1968 and was a smash hit. It's so nice it has been revived and covered so fantastic. Many covers are awful but the kids here deliver nicely !
Pure talent! 👏👏
This performance was much better than the sound quality we get to listen to. Such a pity. Something technical went wrong with recording I guess. But I also hear some bad lead vocal handling. strange reverb, thinning and flattening. So maybe it was a first year student sound engineer :)
THAT WAS! FANTASTIC!!! well done......!!
All i can say is, relax and have fun. You are playing rock thats over 50 years old. Not Bach or the other B guy but something that went to our bones, at the time. Time for you to make your own.
Well done, all! Great jam!
Slap bass on a Rickenbacker , I going to pretend I didn't see that.
Sly and the Stones would give many thumbs up......really well done...
Did they listen to the order version? It's not a bad cover but most of it is a little bit off. I guessed they are trying to make it their own.
Nope….. ya’lk don’t Have it
I hope this makes it the members of Sly & the Family Stone!! It is great to see that music from half a century ago is making it way to a new generation! They all seem to be enjoying this song.I only wish they had the horn section, Cynthia made me take up trumpet when I was in junior high school ( that is what it was called in NYC back in the day, not middle school).
great job, i keep hitting the replay on this one!
where are the HORNS ????
give me my HORNS !!!!
Sounds good to me.
This is fantastic, such talent, well done kids ❤😊
Very good
Loved it

School of rock is just awesome
Loved it!
Love it!!!!
Well done by all!
That's what I'm talking about!!!!!!
Lit
I'm pretty sure the singer is related to Jimmy Page.
That was great!!
How about "I Want To Take You Higher"?
What an amazing cover. All these young adults are already accomplished musicians. The drummer in this group was rock solid. Interesting that he chooses to use classic grip with his left hand. That is a VERY old grip that was made necessary in the revolutionary times when the members of the drum and fife core wore their instruments with a single strap that held the drums at a steep angle, making it ackward and difficult to use the left drumstick with a matched grip. This grip persisted into the 1930-40s being used by Gene Krupa, and into the 60's by Buddy Rich, but with kits having all comfortably leveled drums, and the proliferation of big double bass kits and drumming becoming a more prominent part of Rock music in the late 60's and 70's, plus marching band gear using double shoulder harnesses to keep snares level, matched grip became the norm. It's rare to find drum teachers these days that drill students in that grip.
Good, Good, Good, .......................... great video

I listened to this again you absolutely Killed it WOOW !!!
Their song selection is sometimes questionable but, THEY ABSOLUTELY ROCKED THIS SONG
This is great! I mean, really, you killed that tune, I love it.
This has always been one of my favorite songs, not just Sly and the Family Stone but best of all music! All the School of Rock videos are great. These kids did an outstanding job with this Sly Stone classic. Yeah, I call them kids cause I am 78. Keep up the good work kids.
Props to the keys because this song doesn’t work with “ok” keys being played. That guy nailed it!
What a great version! Funkofabulous!
Got me doing the funky chicken !
Simple and to the point……Wow & takes my breath away. I remember this tune the first time around!
WOW! Perfectly covered!! Period!!!
I'M Dancing just like the days! In the 70's!!
Different flavor, voices, but just as good if not greater performance from all membres in this band here!!!
Congrats To S.O.R!!!
Wow, thank you!
@@SchoolofRockUSA it is what it is☺
