Running shoe rotation.You only need 2 pairs in your rotation. You've been marketed & brainwashed !

  • IMHO , you've been marketed by the shoe companies to believe that you need 5 or 6 pairs.... Your daily trainer , your tempo day shoe , your recovery shoe , your long distance shoe, your track day shoe , your racing shoe ,etc. I think the amateur runner has been brainwashed . You can achieve a PB or PR with fewer pairs. It's your legs, your heart , your lungs ,and the psychology in your head that makes all the difference.

    I agree. As a runner who just wants exercise you only really need 2(maybe 3) pairs of shoes. For me it’s mainly to avoid injuries.

      thanks Berny, It's feeling better every day . Was able to do a combination of walking and jogging on my home course, and did about 3 miles total ..... It took me 53 minutes for that combination or walking and jogging , but without much discomfort. Next time , I'll pick up the pace gradually.

      Hey Mike , Saw you subscribed but I probably won't put another video on here until the Spring , 2022 . That's when I'm due for some new shoes . What I am planning on doing is getting th Hoka Bondi X with the carbon plate as my main shoe and a pair of the hoka rincon 3 as my once a week light weigh "speed" shoe . The Bondi 8 won't be coming out until the fall 2022 , so if I'm going to consider the Bondi 8 it would have to be for new shoes in March 2023. I've bought a lot of running stuff like shirts , underwear , hats and stuff but they are all mundane enough not to warrant a review. I do have a new shelfing system for all my running gear so this might be helpful to show.

    I think a good road shoe and trail shoe is enough. I have a few more only since i don't like them as much anymore.

    • @afs1476
      @afs1476  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I know how that goes . "I don't like them anymore" for me usually involves my feet or some other part of my body changing and the shoes not working for me anymore. In 2020 I bought way more shoes than I usually do. I think it might have been Covid related , not going anywhere , and buying running shoes to experiment with. It was fun , but now this has run it's course . I have sent back plenty of shoes , sold some on eBay , use some as casual shoes and donated some to a charity thrift store.

    Agreed Sir,
    I have Glycerin 19 and Pegasus 38. I like the fit and comfot of Glycerin 19. Peg improves my time by 30 s in 30 min jog.. Hoka shoes are not available in India. Can u share ur experiences in Brooks & Nike-Peg .
    Thanks for ur advice on carbon plated shoes, joggers like me would not feel any difference in them.👍

      Atul, I have not run in Brooks for decades, although it was my first running shoe in 1979. I would think the glycerine 19 is a heavy shoe like the Hoka Bondi that I have . In a U.S. mens size 8.5 they are 10.5 oz. My friend Sergio from Argentina has the peg 37 and he loves them . I think the 38 is even better but I also think it's on the heavy side. I could be wrong. What I am going for in the future is that supportive shoe in the 10 oz range and them something a lot lighter that I might wear once a week just as a change of pace. Beware of the new really soft foams like the Asics Novablast ,the New Balance rebel 2 and the Nike Invincible . I personally found them to be too soft and cushioned and very unstable . It's a trend that absolutely did not work for me.
