and of course, both sims turn out having equally points. A Coincidence? I dont think so. But thats the Problem, many YTubers do that to not come over too one-sided. So here they are. 2 Points i disagree on: 1. SIM Modabillity: If it was "SIM Mod-Availabiltity" i would totally agree but not Modability. Its very easy for anyone to create a custom Airport for Xplane. Thats why there are so many good Custom Airports for free for Xplane. Something P3D doesnt have. Same goes for Airplanes (see Zibo Mod 737) 2.Price: Comparing the Value for the price based on the Quantity of default Planes?? Seriously? You know exactly that most of us dont even use the default Planes. And additionally, Xplanes "defaults" have a better Quality (my opinion) but if you say Quantity over Quality, sure, thats your opinion and theres nothing wrong with that obviously. The prices are (almost) the same so i would give it a draw. Btw a Flight sim doesnt only consist of Planes, something you should keep in mind for the next time when you consider how much value you get for the the money for flight sims(13:45). So... if you compare both sims honestly, you see, that Xplane turns out having two more points. But does it make a better sim? Not really, since everyone has different Needs. If you want some high level addon Aircrafts like the PMDGs go for P3D, but if your ok with the ones available for Xplane go for Xplane and you benefit from many good custom Airports that are available for free and the possibility to use nice Ortho Photo realistic Scenery aswell for free good video mate

I’m not biased here but I personally think especially in recent times. Xplane comes out on top. Because on the market brands like flight factor and flyjsim have really left there mark. Different navigational systems. Third party extensions like web FMC. Just plugins page alone will win it. If anyone would like to make points you are more than welcome. But IMHO, xplane wins with it’s more colourful, diverse selection of aircraft and just the overall physics and versatility. I think cost was a little off too but that’s not the point
Yea. I do see where you are coming from. I've been playing X-Plane for 4 years and tried P3D just a year ago. I mostly like flying in airliners. I made the switch and never looked back to X-Plane 11 again. I just hated having to get all this storage just for ortho when I could get ORBX base pack and ORBX north america open LC and boom, I got the whole north america to fly in. But of course, in some cases it's not going to look as good as ortho or have the accuracy but I don't care. It still looks good enough for me and in some parts it even looks like photo imagery of the real thing, but of course it's not. I also hated X-Planes weather system. P3D was just all around better in terms of weather. With p3dv5 out right now, their true sky is simply something you cannot get in X-Plane 11. I love their new true sky clouds, nothing X-Plane 11 has can even compare to it. Not even x-enviro in my opinion. And yea, flight factor has really left a mark but, for airbusFSLABS is just the best. I still have X-Plane 11 installed just incase I feel like playing it again but I'm probably not going to. And I'm pretty sure we can all agree that Majestics Q400 is better than flyjsims q400, and that Quality wings 787 is better than Madknights 787. I just feel like P3D has better planes which it does. It's technically breaking the TOS to buy the Academic version of P3D unless you're a student or a school. You won't get in trouble for it, but he should at least mention that for the average flight simmer to buy it fully legally it's really $200
The aircraft mods available for P3d are in a whole nother universe than the X-Plane ones. In X-Plane there is no airliner which has no striking issues in terms of visuals or system depth. Some full priced airliners aren‘t even capabil to do simple things as sids and stars or fly holdings. Some of them can‘t even hold the course correctly or do weird things by themselves. Espeacilly in terms of visuals almost every arliner for X-Plane needs much improvement . I mean almost every airliner even has visual bugs like flickering pixel textures. And I don’t really understand why cause xp offers a much more modern engine. Also the ammount of available airliners is really small and when it comes to good, studylevel ones, there are much less. You just have the 767 for long haul which is the only studylevel longhauler for xplane. For short/middle routs you have some more airliners available but not even close to what p3d developers offer. But when it comes to Ga, there are defenetly some good ones as the breathtaking hotstart Tbm900. But summarizing Xplane11 add on market has a lot of work to do to get close to the quality which for example fslabs or Pmdg offer.
Ayzrito I said SOME of them to name negative examples. And I am owning every acceptable airliner for X-Plane (spended 400€) and every one, even 90€ flightfactor models have striking issues espeacilly in the visual parts. I am also owning P3d and I never had problems with any addon aircraft there. They are just perfect most of them like pmdg, fslabs...
Luca Ansems I’m not exactly sure how this flickering exists on your end but xplane addons are fine for me and they are expanding. They are remastering aircraft, pushing out new ones like a 747 classic series and a new Q400. I personally think P3D aircraft are beginning to age. And gives them a early 2000’s sim kind of feel. My opinion still but I don’t think it’s as bad as your making it sound by the tone of your comment. Really bad xplane aircraft would be the Peter Hager A380, a couple jar designs and the current Q400 but the rest is fine
That price argument doesn't make much sense. Most serious users don't fly the default aircraft anyway and it doesn't make much sense to calculate the price per default aircraft. It's clearly a tie in this regard as both platforms cost the same. Iif anything you could argue for X-Plane, since Prepar3D is technically not even available as a consumer entertainment product like X-Plane is... Good video otherwise.
I'm still trying to figure out the logic in including a submarine in a flight simulator (Prepar3d) - It's supposed to be a flight simulator, not a submarine simulator.
P3D is a training platform. The ship and submarine modules are rather advanced when it comes to technical spec alongside it's training tools. th-cam.com/video/lzZo7J3G9iw/w-d-xo.html
your pricing comparison only works if you're a student or laying about being a student. FSX3D = $199 for the basic package ... if you missed such a simple detail what else was missed. Otherwise a nice comparison. thanks.
4:12 Comment about X-Plane's "Open street maps" to render scenery [buildings and houses] accurately - Although it is true in some cases, in most cases it is not. The default X-Plane 11 world scenery objects, even when set to maximum it does not show all the ground scenery objects (buildings and houses) correctly in many areas, it's fairly accurate in rendering the terrain objects (hills/mountains, valleys, etc.) but it's 40-50 years behind in showing the ground objects that have been built since the 1960s and 1970s, in most cases it shows just bare terrain where neighborhoods now exist.
I personally enjoy X-Plane alongside MSFS, gives you a bit more variety of aircraft with both being very good simulators. Definitely worth giving it a go!
I agree with your stats. I have p3dv5.03 and honestly I’ve never liked colander cause it’s kinda shait 😂. But I do agree that both game are honestly a tie when you take all this starts to consideration, how ever with addons I think p3d will win.
For me its P3D. I can simply not go from the quality wings 787 to the madknight 787. Or the pmdg 737 to the zibo 737 or the fslabs a320 to the flight factor a320. P3D planes are just so much better
An airplane its not just about the functionality of the every single knob, switch or breaker, the most important thing is the flight model that will accurate represent the aircraft type you are flying. This is where Xplane excels. PMDG compared to Zibo, IXEG 737-300 and FJS 737-200 flies like a shoebox.
@@capt_Iceman Not really. That's like saying "Oh, this A320 only has 2 knobs and doesn't have the mcdu modeled, but it flys exactly like the real thing so it's better than the FSLABS"
To me, it is the avionics functionality and weapon system.... I guess I’m in the wrong area for that. I just got p3d and checked this site. Another flight sim collecting dust in my office. I like the flying just fine , I just like to employ a few weapons on advancing enemy before I land.
I guess I’m more of a combat flight simmer. (Falcon bms) But I’m checking both p3d and xp11 for a friend that is into just flights , commercial and private. I heard there is a mod where passengers in the plane actually react to your flying or something like this.
P3D Version 5 doesn't include the Boeing 737 with its list of aircraft so it's an add-on, which disqualifies P3D as "Vanilla No Mods", but you had to do a fair comparison between the two. I've never purchased P3D mainly because it doesn't offer modern commercial airliners, they only have old propeller airliners like the Constellation and the Electra, both were made by Lockheed so they probably refrained from including Boeing and McDonnell Douglas aircraft just because they belong to Lockheed's competitors. Lockheed hasn't produced commercial aircraft since the last L1011 was produced in 1984 so it would have been nice if they included the Tri-Star.
I thought X-Plane including the Space Shuttle was a waste, yes it only functions as an unpowered glider in earth's atmosphere but for the most part, it's a space vehicle. But it's not as odd as P3D V5 including a submarine.. I thought it's supposed to simulate flying aircraft and not operating a submarine in the depths of the oceans.
3rd Party developers offer plenty of free and payware for both simulators and from my experience, X-Plane's core engine is notorious for bugs and whenever you install updates, it tends to create additional bugs with the add-on components (aircraft and scenery) because the sim has a lot internal and external dependencies that break with updates, even non-beta ones. If you contact Laminar Research about issues that become apparent after installing XP 11 updates they'll tell you that you'll have to contact the 3rd party developer(s) of those components. On some occasions the updates also break the X-Plane 11 default aircraft and scenery. Overall, I'm disappointed with X-Plane 11, even with their latest 50 beta 13, that's why I refuse to pay for add-on aircraft and scenery because it's unpredictable and it cannot be relied upon to work correctly. Laminar Research have the right concept with the flight simulator and it would have been great if it were not so buggy.
Nice upload, fsx still gets my vote tho. I liked x-plane after trying the demo but the community are not as friendly as the fsx/p3d community, which put me off. Unless it's my misfortune, they all come across as toxic and nowhere near as friendly and helpful as the fsx/p3d community (maybe younger people use x-plane since fsx and p3d have been around for a number of years?), with the 'x-plane is better, if you disagree then screw you' attitude, it comes across to me like they are trying to convince themselves as much as you. I'm still using FSX because it works for what i want (flying airliners so scenery is not as important at 30,000 feet, got pmdg, aerosoft a320, orbx global and a couple of addon airports) but thinking of switching to p3d just for the 64 bit so not having to worry about crashing as much. The plan being p3d v5 will see me through for a few years to give fs2020 some time to find it's feet and have a number of established addons that will work out of the box rather than paying a substantial amount of money to basically be a beta tester if you want them right now.
I am waiting for Microsoft's FS 2020, it's a completely new flight sim platform so I won't buy it the minute it gets released, I'll wait a few months to make sure any unexpected bugs that were not caught with the beta releases have been corrected in subsequent patches/releases.
Nice video thank you. What I will say is that the C130 in X-Plane 11 is HORRIBLE. How did they go so wrong? The flighdeck windows are so huge, it looks like a cartoon.

There's lots of freeware/Payware planes for x=plane with flying sids stars etc, you just dont know where to look
Ayzrito I said
SOME of them to name negative examples.
I really dislike the lighting/overall look of P3D.
Both are def not strong on visuals
And that's why I like P3D the most. Finally the best sim is based in what you like. I'm trying bluFx for Xplane 11, but P3D clouds are a way better
I like both
That price argument doesn't make much sense.
M8 where u from?
I'm still trying to figure out the logic in including a submarine in a flight simulator (Prepar3d) - It's supposed to be a flight simulator, not a submarine simulator.
P3D is a training platform. The ship and submarine modules are rather advanced when it comes to technical spec alongside it's training tools.

Can you recommend the best simulator for an LM-100J or C-130J? Looking for a fully clickable cockpit. Thanks!
after watching FS2020 videos I came and watched this. Lol.
Excuse me FS2020 coming through
you mean mfs?
@@sks2659 Same thing tho.
Tbh, fs 2020 is basically just fsx with better graphics
I love flight simulatuh
can i play p3d with gtx 1650 and 16 gigs of ram on high-ish settings i can do it on xplane 11
13:30 what the HELL was that
your pricing comparison only works if you're a student or laying about being a student. FSX3D = $199 for the basic package ... if you missed such a simple detail what else was missed. Otherwise a nice comparison. thanks.
Except the fact pretty much every p3d user uses academic, you won’t get in trouble for using it
4:12 Comment about X-Plane's "Open street maps" to render scenery [buildings and houses] accurately - Although it is true in some cases, in most cases it is not.
I've spent 1200 Euros on P3D and aircraft and sceneries. PMDG and FSlabs, so great. But I am wondering if I should try Xplane as well?
I personally enjoy X-Plane alongside MSFS, gives you a bit more variety of aircraft with both being very good simulators. Definitely worth giving it a go!
why not turn on enhanced atmospherics? kinda unfair don't you think?
Freeware addons for Xplane are tons better than freeware for P3D nor FSX
I agree with your stats. I have p3dv5.03 and honestly I’ve never liked colander cause it’s kinda shait 😂. But I do agree that both game are honestly a tie when you take all this starts to consideration, how ever with addons I think p3d will win.
Can you do FS2020 vs XP11?
At some point for sure!
Emilio Hernandez disagree. With a 737 you fly on autopilot 99 percent of the time...
Aircraft quality to you it means good graphics?
To me, it is the avionics functionality and weapon system....
I guess I’m in the wrong area for that.
I just got p3d and checked this site.
Another flight sim collecting dust in my office. I like the flying just fine , I just like to employ a few weapons on advancing enemy before I land.
Quality and Functionality I classed into two separate categories. It's one thing looking good, another systems-wise.
I guess I’m more of a combat flight simmer. (Falcon bms) But I’m checking both p3d and xp11 for a friend that is into just flights , commercial and private.
I heard there is a mod where passengers in the plane actually react to your flying or something like this.
Yes, that add-on is TFDi Design PACX. It is compatible with MSFS, XP11, P3D and FSX.
MODS tie, and stability x plane wins now with vulkan, and price?? pmdg 737 100 dolars, zibo free, same quality aircraft
Awesome video~ My wallet tho...
Wdym, not as friendly and toxic? P3D tryhards keep calling people who don't like or fly their sim XTARDS or MSFS re*ards.
doesn't x-plane 11 have SO much more plugins than P3D?
Yes, but with very varied quality.
I am waiting for Microsoft's FS 2020, it's a completely new flight sim platform so I won't buy it the minute it gets released, I'll wait a few months to make sure any unexpected bugs that were not caught with the beta releases have been corrected in subsequent patches/releases.
Unless prepared has solved the multi-core cpu, direct x and the need for thousands of addons.. it's just not worth it.
X-Plane had no scenery..
P3Dv5 is DX12 and 64bit and can still use previous Orbx add-ons from older versions so in the end saves you money if you already have that
V5 is now unstable unless you have high-end GPU, that is, 2080ti and up...
2080ti and upp????? FlightSimmer101 and has a 1070 8gb and streams p3d v5 fine. What do you mean?
Nice video thank you. What I will say is that the C130 in X-Plane 11 is HORRIBLE. How did they go so wrong? The flighdeck windows are so huge, it looks like a cartoon.
To be honest, P3D sucks (I use P3D). The only thing that keeps It alive is It amazing addons, that even make some XP users jealous some times...
P3d planes and graphics and stuff are a little more better than x planr
Where are you from buddy, your voice sounds a little monotonous, I'm not trying to insult you I just wondered where you're from :}
He is from Nottingham
@@JP-wm1cc I thought he was a fellow midlander like me! I'm from Coventry. I thought it sounded similar, as in relatively neutral sounding without a northern or southerrn or brummie accent

@@Drawyah ahh that explains it! I wasn't insulting you by the way either. Do you run the fselite site?
Many people in England has that accent, thousands... and many different, you guys have never been to UK or watched the so many great tv series , comedies and programs. You just are to Hollywood brain washed
X-plane using OSM data for roads? Allow me to lmfao.
Correct. OpenStreetMap data is used to create the default world. This is noted on the official OSM wiki.

p3d is $59 for students up to the end of highschool
Its 59 for everyone. You can buy whatever version you want. People act like it's the law lmao
@@Rtzimbobweee Agreed. I always just buy the academic version. Neither LM or the FBI has ever showed up at my door.
Price : p3d win... pmdg 747 : 140$
Pmdg planes it's like mods for P3D , p3d (vanilla) win...
VZXT p3d vanilla is empty
Xplane to me has too many static aircraft and out of the box NO A.I. flyable aircraft should never be used as A.I.
which accent does he have? It’s very interesting and good to hear
SON우디 idk I like it
P3D basically is a mod which makes your title not true. You are comparing a modded game to a vanilla. Trash comparison from beginning on
it's not a mod though, it's it's own software package. it just shares a lot of it's code base with FSX
haha this dude is only trying to keep everyone happy. Its absolute bull. You talk about cheap addons on prepared when they are double the price of the addons on xplane. At least the high end ones.
This video is seriously flawed in the OP's own decision, either that or he is totally blind. Xplane11 wins by far!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
i cant believe that the Point in flight Dynamics goes to X plane. just look what the Cessna does in mid air, wtf. go in standart 737 with 400 kts downwards and put the nose all the way up, and it really goes all the way up, the most unrealistic stuff i have seen in any Kind of Simulation so far.
This comparison is jokes, this entire comparison is purely based on favoritism & opinion over actual facts. Also the new upcoming Flight Simulator will kill all flight sims.
Ps3d looks better
I think p3d looks more like a sim. Xplane looks childish and cartoonish.
and p3d flies like a cartoon. Guess you have to pick with one you value more.
P3D is a joke.
Not really.
Save you 15 minutes to scared to pick a sim 50/50 ill help you out tho if you are looking into a good sim Xplane 11 forget msfs2020 arcade compared to xplane 11
Ignorant comparison - my opinion. Trying to compare X-Plane to P3D, is like trying to compare Ohio State to Alabama in football. Alabama will win 9 out of 10 times. X-Plane is so superior to Prepar3d its ridiculous even trying to compare them. You'd be better off comparing Prepar3d (any version) to FSX since Prepar3d still has the "cartoonish coloring" of FSX.
