As a WSU student my first reaction to the news that the entire band was not going to be there I instantly thought that we should play a tribute or something along those lines and I was glad we did that for them, even if they are our rivals.
Our recently retired play-by-play radio host Bob Robertson, always signed off every Cougar broadcast by saying "Always be a good sport, be a good sport ALL WAYS!" This mantra was exemplified to its fullest by the WSU marching band! GO COUGS!!!
As an LSU fan, my heart goes out to UW. And what a class act WSU showed. Just when one thinks society is hopeless, the Cougars prove otherwise. Nice job.
The backstory on this is that the UW band bus crashed in George half way across the state to the stadium. They were okay and the good citizens of George took care of them, btw. But UW was was left without a band for the Apple Cup rivalry game so the WSU band did double duty that night. A class act. I can't say as much as to the breakup of the PAC-12 and how it was reciprocated by UW. But this gesture here was really nice.

I know that I give wsu a hard time but this was a class act and as a huskies fan , thanks for this from the bottom of my heart.

Just goes to show you....humanity always wins out in the end. This DAWG says thank you WSU!!!!! You rock!
