I used to listen to this song with my brother SO much when I was fifteen. I'm 23 now, and I kind of forgot about it. It played on a "I'm Feeling Lucky" playlist on Google Play Music this morning. I have probably listened to it about 10 times today.
at first i thought that the music video was a little cheesy but now i just thinks its an awesome video to an awesome song! favorite song by wato :)

Great song. Especially sans the screaming. These guys can actually sing. Thought they were just another no talent band that screamed to "make music". Had to listen to quite a few before I discovered their talent. I will have to pick through their stuff carefully, but will definitely add to my playlist.
My Ethics teacher was talking about Purgatory and saying it was like a waiting room and I started singing this and didn't shut up the whole lesson.

One of my favorites. If I needed to find a perfect example of Juxtaposition used in music, this is it. Idk why maybe I'm weird but I used this song multiple times as an example to show people how contrast can come together and create art.

The vocalists work so well together on this song. Probably my favourite thing about it.
I had only one chance to see them live. It was a free unplugged concert in the pretty small Ramones Café in Berlin. I took it, with about 50-60 people in a way too small room and fuck it was worth it :3

Except for this song, I wasn't really a fan of Dan in the band so I had no problem with him leaving, it just seems like coincidentally their song writing was catchier when he was in the band

The backup vocals are very good sounding. I don't typically listen to this genre of music these days. But you may color me impressed by their sound.

after reading the comments, ive seen a lot of people talking about comparing bands, but i think it would be nice to see these guys pick up where Alexisonfire left off. Their old crows young cardinals album was vastly different from last album, much like WATO. Also their style now is quite similar, vocally i find them the same but a little less toned down opposed to the amazing Alexisonfire. My they sleep well, i loved Alexis.

Very well spoken. Screaming does take talent though, but itshows more talent when a singer can switch it. Screaming is difficult, take this from a singer. I've been singing since I was 8 months old, and I still haven't gotten screaming down, but my brother has. He's a very talented musician, guitarist, singer, pianist, and singer. He can switch it like the very best.
Why are people complaining about the change?
Personally; it's the best thing they could've done if they wanted any career longetivity.
If they'd stayed as they were, they probably would've got a second album out the faded into obscurity.
All they were doing was appealing to scene kids. Who are the most fickle 'fans' of all.
Their new style showcases their actual talent and proves their not just a one-dimensional Alexisonfire clone.
If you don't like this, get the fuck out.
This isn't even screaming anymore, it's more of like growling, which PERSONALLY i think is a lot better, like would rather have a grown man have shrieking girly screams or manly hoarse growling sounds? I think as far as screaming in general goes, it shows growth and maturity, and makes it evident that Dan wants you to hear the lyrics because (this is just a guess). it's probably important that they are heard well rather than just guessing what he is saying everytime you hear the song.
@Satansgoat666 how is that bs? it makes complete sense. i don't like this song as much as i like their other songs. it's something that i would expect from someone else not we are the ocean because their music usually sounds heavier. I do like they're new stuff but personally i like they're old stuff better. like someone doing a cover of someone elses song it can sound better if it was done by someone else.
Why are people critiquing this song so much? It's SO good. Other prominent "screamo"/post hardcore bands do not scream their guts out in every song, look at The Used. The album lies for liars has many heavy songs without screaming and plenty of mellow tracks, as do Alexisonfire (only drawing that comparison as so many people seem to be likening WATO to them), or Every Time I Die OR Taking Back Sunday. Get real people, let's judge them on the integrity of their music!

Just because someone founded the band, does not mean that he excels that of his band members.. It is just my personal opinion that the clean vocals are far better.. I didn't really like We Are The Ocean's old material, but the new material shines more with Dan Brown somewhat standing down for the other members..
@ronaldo108 Interesting you say that; I was browsing through youtube vids and when I listened to an Ocean song I immediately though of Alexisonfire (I probably haven't given Alexis any thought for something like 3-4 years until I heard this band).
I'm not saying that they sound alike, but it certainly seems to be registering in the brain similarly with many people.
