This goes beyond skill; this was art. Explaining what you are aiming to do, why you are trying to do it, showing it being done, then explaining why it was a success or why you didn't get the results that you were aiming for, is fantastic. A true artist at work. Thank you. Stay safe.
Wow, what a place to work. Being from the UK i rarely see trees in your videos small enough to compare too, let alone that landscape. Good work too, it's refreshing to see there are still people who just get on with the job instead of moaning about manual handing/H&S
As a seasoned hardwood timber feller, I can genuinely say that you guys have the best job of all the fellers in North American. Not necessarily the easiest but the big timber is every fellers dream.
This is crazy and I don't know how I ran across your channel but it doesn't matter. I literally sit around and watch you cut huge trees! Super entertaining my man, you actually have a back for filming and TH-cam. So many people on TH-cam want to be great TH-cam and their content may be interesting but if they're boring on camera, nobody is going to stay entertained long. Your awesome videos warranted a long comment bud, God bless ❤️
Brilliant opening shot. Another great video. Thank's Bjarne, these give me a great break from the wife watching fake reality tv. Regards from Scotland.
i love these long video's i can just sit back and relax after a day work, it's like watching a movie of logging and i learn something from it that i can use when i am cutting down trees!! keep up the good work bjarne and thanks for the vids 👍💪
Watching this hearing the saws ripping and trees falling in the distance, reminded me of the Red Green show. Great work as always and remember Bjarne, as Red would say, if women don't find you handsome, they should at least find you handy. Stay safe
Love this we've been royally treated this week to 2 instalments of Bjarne's beautiful piece of the world 😊 (feeling privileged) The sun shone, your axe is still in one piece, your 572 was cutting like a demon and trees fell where you wanted them to - what's not to like ? 😊 15 mins of fame became a 2 hour special - thank you very much for brightening up my Saturday Bjarne 😊
Thanks Bjarne you've taught me a skill i was unaware of! The way you do your undercut is so obviously the best especially on bigger timber! Ill be practising it for sure! Cheers from Tasmania 😊
As an East Coast guy, I wouldnt mind seeing more of the "smaller trees" as you say, because those "smaller trees" are bigger than 99% of the trees we cut over here 😂
Your best yet. Long but super. The content of the view and placement of the music was very well thought out. Keep them coming, I feel that the videos will get better 🤙👏🏻👏🏻 stay safe. 🙏
When i was in my prime, around 19/20 i was a stacker for 2 years with a troup who felled 2"-16" for pulp....Anything over 16" was used for pit props. I loved it!! was brutal in the winter, but the summer months was brilliant!! start at 6 an get 6/7 tanks in, earn a real good wage........I enjoy watching these kinda vids, takes me back to the joys of 30 yrs ago..
Used to go riding in vih s61 in dean channel after day of tree falling. The impact of trees through the long line caused a lot of jarring to the airframe. We were doing a water drop. I was hooked on the uphill speed going back for another turn of logs. I lasted maybe 2 cycles as passenger in the back, those machines are like being in a roller coaster. I had a 7ft 8 in spruce 13ft 6in long that they launched off the hill and guided it down to the water. We called that wood popcorn spruce. Vih said that was the record log they ever flew at the time.Sure do enjoy these videos! Brings back a lot of fond memories
Another great video. I miss judged the lean on a good sized white oak yesterday and the tree leaned back on my bar. A good pinch. I placed my tractor about 100 feet in front of it an used my Farmi winch to pull the tree down dropping my saw. No damage thank God. Love your videos. I learn a lot from you. If and when you get a pinch I would like you to show how you get out of it. Thanks again. Thanks for the back cut shot.
Jeez I’m not sure you should be falling trees….. get yourself some falling wedges, you can google what they are, start a wedge in your back cut as soothing as possible, that will probably save you from it sitting down on your bar, unless you’ve severely misread the lean
That is unbelievably beautiful, was a feller for about 10 yrs good honest money, and I felt like I just got out of boot camp, lots of close calls,a lot of luck and a pretty good understanding of physics lol, that wood looks heavy, always hated felling uphill and sometimes unavoidable that was good idea, keep your chain spinning boys, watch your top notch and put em on the landing
Oldie but goodie logging prank: Buy some cheap perfume and sneak a 1/4 teaspoon in your partners bar oil reservoir. It's when their wife is doing their laundry when the real fun starts.
Ooo that’s a good one. I used to sneak small rocks in the bottom of my partners bag. Another was a roll of trail ribbon tied under the bumper. And putting their chain on backwards.
Watched the whole video and visited the website! Thanks for the videos. I like to see professional fallers using something other than a Stihl. Found you because of afleetcommand FYI.
Love the video !! Wonder if you guys ever run semi of full skip chain on those longer bars. Cutting that fir at the 20 minute mark man the number of times chain stall …. Stay safe
Axe throwing tip: ..throw the same every time ..only change your distance ..so if you miss , dont change the throw style ..be constintant with whichever style you have and just move closer or farther
Well by god you've got the coolest vidjas!I watch them a million times lol..I'm still curious about the 592 though?Ya waiting for bigger wood or waiting on the saw itself?I'm a stihl guy as ya probably know lol but I think that saw is gonna eat some wood..Awesome job and look forward to more vidjas!Stay safe and grab ya a stihl lol..

awesome , i figured there be a relation there , right on, stay safe out there bud , falling timber is a very dangerous job , 100% mind on task that’s for sure ,
And just when we thought you couldn't out do the last video's you build this one. Wow. Is that an old sikorsky? Looks like an old Coast Guard helicopter
The high stumps are to hold the logs on the hill so they won’t roll. Having to chase after a log wastes time and bucking below already bucked wood is very dangerous
@@BjarneButler I understand now was thinking that you was leaving stump here we cut as close to the ground as possible where the best wood grain is may I say air you are a true mountain man

Wow that's an expensive snag to get on the ground. Surprised that pilot would attempt that. What if that cable got wrapped around a big limb or something...
It's good to have a heli nearby to do the work. In the old days and today with no heli, you would have to blow it down with a tree from up above, sometimes 2.
Have you ever had to spend a night in the field because a helicopter couldn't pick you up due to weather or mechanical failure? Hey, thanks fo the videos!

After a day's climbing , this is a pleasure to watch, thank you 😊 🙏
I liked watching the tree move into frame as you wedged it at 45min. It’s amazing how far it moved before it fell.

Bjarne, you need to show us how you file your chain sometime. I would be interested in how you like yours cut and what shape you file.
Ok I’ll make another video on filing

Awesome few days on the job Bjarne I'm curious does the company supply your food while at the camp or do you have to buy it at a local store
When I’m working in camp everything is provided. I’m just required to supply my own gear like PPE, saw, axe, wedges, radio etc

Hello just curious how br footage is in one of them tall trees like the Fir you fell up the hill somewhat above the double stump
I ordered really sharp looking red / blk snap back hat !
Bjarne can you tell me why you prefer sthil bars on husky saw ? Thanks

Amazing skill👌👌👌
Hi from Germany, seems like you are happy with Husqvarna equipment, are they sponsoring?
Your camera is very good ..Im curious what camera it is
Wow Two birds with one stone. 👍hell yeah.
the music was sick!
Its been a long time since I cut a big tree down, I would love to get back into the woods and make some sawdust
Expensive snag!
I flew that RMH in the arctic for a while. Lol
I was just wondering, do you have to pay for the gas and oil for your saw, or does the employer pay for that?
Nope. Fuel is provided
A question. I am not a tree faller, but I do cut a lot of firewood (Oak) here in France. How do you get all that wood off the mountain?
Skillzz🤣👍
Amazing
Question 2. How heavy would these trees be?
Is this Barkley Sound?
nice placement at hour 1:14
Hi from northwest Missouri in USA I was just wondering why cut the tree 🌴 of so hi leaves 2to4 feet of stump

It seems like the grapple takes to long vs having someone rig the load.

That must feel sketchy as hell in that chopper when that log hits the snag
Right🤷♂️

do you have the video showing the transportation all of this cutting? it will be challenging due to slope terrain. thanks
how do they take out thse logs , once cut ???
Wow that's an expensive snag to get on the ground. Surprised that pilot would attempt that. What if that cable got wrapped around a big limb or something...
There is quick releases the pilot can use if need be. Better to be safe then cheap
