I’m a New Zealander and definitely look up to our pilots here in Air NZ, always feel safe when I’m on Air NZ. And I can definitely say Filipino pilots are some of the best out there.
because their pilots are well disciplined, and their license are all hard-earned. they have high standards in aviation school unlike in some other countries where you can earn license easily if you have money.
Before the pandemic began, I had been riding Philippine Airlines’ MNL-NRT or MNL-HND flights three to four times a year for the past 10 years plus a few other international flights before those. I always thought those smooth landings by PAL pilots were normal in all airlines until I rode another international airline and its landing was so hard I almost panicked! Kudos to all of PAL’s pilots! You’re amazing!
Do you know that the weather below is worse than above? So the landings and take offs depend on these situations. I've experienced some terrible landings of Philippine Airlines years ago. Though I do not fly with them anymore due to their constant delays with both their international and domestic flights. Been flying Singapore Air after that and it's the best airline for me.

That is so true. I just went back home last June with Philippine airlines and when the pilot said that we are going home I cried because after 3 years I finally came back home. That's why no matter how much is the airline ticket for PAL I will always fly with Philippine airlines.

i always fall asleep halfway through my flights and just wake up to the landing announcement (“pls remain seated with your seatbelts fastened until the aircraft has come to a complete stop”) not noticing we’ve already landed. that’s how SMOOTH pal pilots land

I agree …. I always fly by Delta and Philippine Airlines … when it comes to customer service, Delta wins, but when it comes to smooth landing, I will give it to PAL
I am a flyers person and when i saw the pilot is filipino im empress bcoz they really flawless when it comes of landing and take off! Totally a professional pilot !
Fact: filipino pilot are amzing! More than 4 times I ride PAL from Saudi to Manila but I really noticed during the landing that it was soft and you wouldn't feel a bit shaking when the landing gear touched the groud. yan ang pinoy mabuhay po kaung lahat mga piloto at mga FA ng PAL..

Fun fact: PAL [Philippine Airlines] pilots are required to be well trained, there training and study are more than 1500 hours or more, Rather outside Asia or southeast asian countries. And they are paid into P180,000 (for new pilots) or P280,000 (when there rank is captain+ or they did a great job)
I've been flying PAL planes and some of their pilots usually airforce retirees, while others were graduates of their own flight training program, and heres the difference. Longhaul International flights were usually flown by airforce guys, while short or regional flights were flown by PAL grads.
Alan Caldoza true whenever I fly international from Manila to a place like Bangkok it Tokyo for vacation, the landings are much smoother. Meanwhile when I fly regional to a place like Bacolod, the landings are not bad but not too good either.

While PAL trained pilots is more emphasized or trained more ti play it smooth all the time. Today PAL has more self trained pilots and they no longer rely more from the airforce retirees to fly their planes cause those airforce retirees is eyeing bigger airlines

PAL is like the queen of the asian sky One of my fav Planes next to Cebu Pacific, I haven't rode planes ever before but I hope someday I can :), and I'm so proud that they're carrying the Philippine flag in the skies!

My father failed 23 times trying to finally get his airline transport pilot licence, and because of their goddamn standards he didn't manage to get his dream job but he's now an airforce officer with atleast 12,000 flight hours.
Watching this made my eyes teary I don't know Maybe I miss the Philippines And knowing that flying with one of that flawless touch down plane made the tears run down like the condensation in the planes window I experienced that 3x
Filipino Pilots are more disciplined on landing and take offs, they use older airplanes on completing their flying hours. They do put less stress on airplane when doing these maneouvers. Fun fact: The captain daughter (Lilybeth Tan-Ng) of owner of Philippine Airlines also used to pilot one of their commercial routes.
Also heard that you can be an Airline pilot for free if u join or volunteer in the Philippine airforce and after u get a 1000 hours of flying from Philippines Airforce you can now be an Airline pilot for free
