Love these traditional village recipes. I learnt some from my grandmother and mother, too, and it was always a pinch of that a cup of this, a bowl of that, too. Measurements were never precise and I had to learn to cook by touch, by feel, by taste, by smell and to estimate ingredients by sight. I think many modern cooks would be completely lost because this are skills which make cooking an art. I love your mother. She's so sweet.
I love your videos and how beautiful your family is especially how grandma and granddaughter do the happy dance when they enjoy the finished product. I grew up in the mountains of Puerto Rico so we have a lot of foods in common although with a twist. Thanks so much for sharing!
That silly cat 🐈 must be the happiest cat in the world! He tastes all good food! I never saw a cat eating coconut ,Good kitty. Thanks Granny, you have a heart ❤️ of gold and hands of a kitchen goddess! Hug
so sweet .. sharing food with animals .. its nice .. plz show more like this so that people will learn to share food with innocent animals .. thank u ..
In sri lanka pets are treated as part of the family.they were looked after same like other members.we keep food and water ourside the house for the birds and sqirrels too.We do not harvest some of the fruit trees leaving the fruits to the birds.
I make rice pudding here in Canada too! And I use coconut milk to make it! Here our coconut milk comes in a tin, which isnt near as nice, but still good for rice pudding. Happy new year to you over there so far away!
Those cats have a healthy heart from eating coconut! :-) I'm going to make this recipe Saturday because I don't have any help on the weekends except until noon on Saturday. So she can help me make this and the eggplant dish! I'm so happy :-)
First time I see a cat that eats coconut meat! Amazing! And the finish product looks hmmm. In Puerto Rico we make a sweet coconut sweet very similar except we do not use it with rice, only alone as bars.
Enquanto estou no computador Pepa fica junto do teclado. Essa receita com arroz e doce de coco ficou uma delicia, vou fazer em minha casa, obrigada. Beijos, muita luz para você e a sua família.
I forgot to mention that cooking rice in an earthen pot over a fire like that is an art in itself. Without practise and experience, you just end up up with badly burnt rice the first few times. I know I did.
In America we have no connection to are food, it is all pre harvested most never have the chance or want too harvest and prepare there own foods diets its so much healthier and connects one to ones own ancestors way of eating and growing food. India is a beautiful diverse place full of so many wonderful people
Ummm, there are people in America who do grow and cool their own food. And because of the very poor state of our horrible food industry, more and more people are going back to doing this. And for those of us who aren't able to grow our own, I'm grateful for Farmer's Markets and get to know the vendors that are selling fresh produce and goods. Unfortunately, not as many as in the U.S. do this because companies & corporations have taken over most of our food supply but what their offer isn't even real food. It might as well be cardboard since it lacks so many nutrients.
