Yeah, if I had to guess, his commitments to TOTK kept him from this project. Kenta Nagata was a solid choice for lead composer, though. He’s been writing music for Nintendo since the N64 days. Asuka Hayazaki also composed music for Pikmin 3, so it makes sense that she was brought back!
Pikmin is such a perfect IP for the use of microtonal music. It feels like the sounds of a deeply interconnected plant system on an alien planet. It harnesses the familiarity and beauty of nature and twists it with the deep oddity of the alien planet.
I have never played a Pikmin game before up until my nephew and I started playing it from start to finish. Needless to say, this title is a crystallization of the memories I made with him.
The title screen changes from the outside of some areas near Hero's Hideaway to the kitchen of Hero's Hideaway with Pikmin interfering alongside Oatchi and a Spotty Bulborb.
Can you PLEASE ignore the legality of this and just enjoy? No one actually cares about copyright, and the comment you made before commenting about the legality was good enough. Also, uh, copyright in youtube is kinda... fucked up?
It's enough to make a grown man cry, and that's ok.
Go right ahead tear.
It's already been half a year since this game came out, and it's nice to see to find another good OST playlist.
As of today, July 21st 2024, it has been exactly one year since Pikmin 4 officially released, WOW that was fast. A year already.
It's honestly weird having a Pikmin soundtrack without Hajime Wakai, but I don't mind other composers giving it a chance.

@YoshisVGM Makes sense. Also, Kenta Nagata is one of my favorite composers.
The day has come boys. I can now listen to this absolutely fire soundtrack.

I love pikmin so much
At last, Olimar brings Louie back to Hocotate, this time with the Rescue Corps.
Intriguing for Purple Pikmin, White Pikmin, Rock Pikmin, Winged Pikmin and Ice Pikmin to get Onions of their very own.
All the treasure you recover in this game are part of different series.
The final cave you enter to gain the last treasure and cure Oatchi has all the boss creatures! They and all the normal creatures don't stand a chance.
USE THIS MUSIC FOR SPRINGTIME!
Some of this game's music was recycled from music from the prior Pikmin games! And the S.S. Dolphin finally returns!

I suppose they don’t appear on the cover because they can’t be brought outside.
Beautiful game and music...
but it is illegal and wrong to upload here without copyright. Even if it is for a good reason, it is still wrong

So? Who made you the arbiter of right and wrong, anyway?
