- This is how I went from pumping for 40 seconds to more than 5 minutes in 1 month.
This is how to go from anaerobic pumping to aerobic pumping.

In this series, I’m documenting my journey into pump foiling with the goal of helping beginners like me return to the dock, pump longer and further in any condition, and start from anywhere, so that in a near future we’ll unlock together the full potential of this discipline and explore the beauty of the world on our tiny body-powered boards.

Don't hate me too much for what I said at the end 🙏🏼🙏🏼 (and don't forget to access and download the Pump Foil Guide to get to know everything about Pump Foiling: mailchi.mp/038c21aca7ac/guide )
Agree with you on the last comment! About the shallow water - I would guess that's what is called the ground effect. Same reason why many birds like to fly close to the ground, it costs them less energy.
Great stuff... I agree on the pumping as training... I'm moving toward wing foiling and knowing how to pump and carve before adding a wing makes it less scary. But pump foiling by itself is a great way to spend an afternoon at the lake. All kinds of weird conversations. My favorite "compliment": "that looks hard".
yeah pump foiling is fascinating to watch and always attract attention ahah.
I also recently tried wing foiling for the first time and having a feeling of what is like to be on foil definitely helps!
I'm enjoyed watching your progress.
Great tips! 🤙
I agree about the boring part. First minute or two is fun. Then boring. Here is a new challenge for you- what is the smallest foil you can pump for a minute?
Uh I like this one. As soon as I have access to smaller foils I'll try! The problem is more the start with small foils... so maybe the challenge should be "what's the smallest foil I can dockstart" Wait for it 😁
YES, huge wings are boring and "ridiculous" 😆 Nice vid as always.
Amazing tips! Would you prefer the 80cm board over the 95? Because I don't now which one is better especially for me as a beginner...
I saw that you had a titanium fuselage, what do you feel about it? Do you recommend it?
Hi! I haven't tried the Aluminium one, but I had an amazing feeling with this one! inserts precise and rock solid
Did you just call the premise of your entire channel BORING??
Haha, I agree, I am entertained by the challenge as well.
😂😂 we always need new challenges
I don’t understand the first tip about flexing your stomach muscles. Can you explain more?
Sure!
Don't:
- open up your chest,
- arch your back,
- contract your neck,
- leave your belly 'soft'
Do:
- contract abs
- keep your neck aligned with your trunk
- lean forward with your shoulders
Why?
- to better transfer your bodyweight on the foil and gain more speed during the decent
- to be more relaxed
- to transform your hops in forward momentum
- to avoid involuntary muscle contraction
I discussed this matter 1 week ago in my weekly newsletter. here's the link: mailchi.mp/be6895cddfe3/stop-doing-this-when-pumping-12694923
You might like the one wheel on land. I just got one and now I’m looking into foil boarding too.
Super cool, I'd love to try it, but if I crash on concrete with that like with the foil on water, it might be a problem 😅
@@gaeldaniele 😂yeah, it’s dope though, i got the pint x and im trying to do more trail riding it’s crazy what you can do on and off road. It’s a challenge to learn and feels like surfing almost or some say snowboarding.
