In case people didn’t remember, the first time Ichigo met Old Man Zangetsu, he tried to tell Ichigo his real name but the word was blurred out and Ichigo couldn’t hear a word.
This goes to show you why Ichigo is listed as a war threat for "Potential": he is the son of a Captain-class Shinigami from a royal family, a Pure-Blood Quincy, and a Menos-level Hollow made from the souls of several shinigami. Dude is the definition of 'won the genetic lottery'
Also a fullbringer, he is the closest thing to the spiritual king and it shows when they said the king is interested on ichigo and the asauchi bows to him.
@@juangrullonm7387 He also was a potential Soul King replacement because SPOILERS: After the Soul King died they needed to replace him and Ichigo is literally the closest thing to the Soul King by holding huge amounts of reiatsu, having every single power aka being a hybrid of every race and being a ally to the Soul Society. In the end Yhwach's reiatsu after he was defeated was holding the worlds together, so the Soul King isn't needed anymore... At least for now, Yhwach's reiatsu is protecting the world's, what is kinda ironic because he wanted to destroy that world system and re-create the old one from millions and thousands of years where all worlds were in one combined one.
Actually it turned yellow because thats the colour of his reishi and reiatsu and it does that as its quite literally reishi in its purest form at that point.
The Bankai Ichigo has been using until now was, basically, a resurrección. So yeah, Byakuya was right and so was Harribel, when she was watching Ichigo and Grimmjow fight and she said “it feels like I’m watching 2 espada fight one another”.
I thought it was the opposite, Zangetsu Quincy used himself as the basis of his sword instead of what his hollow/soul reaper powers, so as a result it was an incomplete version of his Zanpakto
@@legendaryseph9406 intially yea but then as ichigo was learning and growing stronger we saw less and less of quincy zangetsu, as he was slowly allowjng more of his true power to seep out hence why started to see more of white as become more at the forefront when he started using the mask.
When you go back at all the interactions between Zangetsu and Ichigo, you realized he never lied to him, always teached him something about himself and saved him many time...Both of them...That really changed the whole dynamic of those conversations ! Now the two of them will work with Ichigo, his dual Zanpakuto and full power unleashed !!

White Ichigo when he fought Ichigo in Ichigo's inner world he said to Ichigo: "I'm Zangetsu" that was very early forshadowing that Ichigo's true Zanpakuto was White and not "the old man" what was actually Yhwach. Also against Kenapchi "the old man" aka Yhwach aka Zangetsu used blut vene to stop Ichigo's bleeding. I always found it weird that "Zangetsu" could stop Ichigo's bleeding because only Ichigo's Zanpakuto showed this ability but now everything makes sense, a lot of forshadowing we missed!
@@DaReal601 I personally didn't miss the white Ichigo forshadowing but I did miss the blut vene one against Kenapchi, although that's an easy one to miss. "Zangetsu" said to Ichigo I will lend you my power and stop the bleeding, back then I didn't read too deep into it and I think most of us didn't but now that we know that he is his Quincy power it makes sense why he was able to stop the bleeding.

@@DaReal601 Yeah I remember coming back from school and watching Bleach and other anime on my CRT TV. I also read the manga many years later and followed each weeks chapter release. So the wait for me after the anime ended felt long but the manga helped me in that time frame also watching Bleach videos many years after the anime and the manga ended and now we have the TYBW anime what is unreal and still feels like a dream.
Even though the movie isn't canon, but even in Hell Verse we see Ichiga use Sklavarei on one of the Hell Guardians and absorbing it and taking it's power. The same thing Quilge did in Hueco Mundo.
Now that I'm watching the anime after years of reading the manga , I just realized how good of a writing Bleach has since episode 1. Everything was here and planned since its beginning , Tite is truly a genius
People just hate bleach like it's a trend to hate it while fillers do damage it's flow but just skip it. But if you read manga it's totally different experience.
Bleach’s level of foreshadowing and characterization is absolutely god tier in terms of writing. A lot of people shit on Bleach especially when the manga ended and completely ignored all the amazing moments, characters, and stories. Like holy shit I’ve heard multiple reactors and reviewers say Aizen is one of the best anime villains. And everyone being so blown away by TYBW and such further shows how much the series affected people.
@@sanddry738but Aizen is truly the best written villain ever. The only one who comes close is Joker. We never get a sad backstory, he never reveals his intentions and motives. He never gets a humane moment. Yet we don’t need it, he is the GOAT even without making him relatable. Imagine if Kubo somehow wrote a backstory to him, that would be insane…
There were so many hints throughout the story. In the beginning when Ichigo was awakening his own soul reaper powers with Urahara, Old man Zangetsu tried to tell him his name but it was inaudible, there's another reason for that, but it makes little sense when he told him his name was Zangetsu very soon. In Hollowfication training, he said "I AM ZANGETSU" and at the end of that training he said "if you want to master this power, don't die until our next meeting,", then when he died vs Ulquiorra, his hollow took over and protected him and healed him, and it wasn't his Quincy powers Blut Vene, and old man Zangetsu didn't come to stop the wound like he did versus Kenpachi, even when Ichigo and Kenpachi had their final attack clash, ichigos reiatsu aura behind him was the mask of his follow, not anything else. Final getsuga tensho training, Bankai version old man Zangetsu had to summon his Vasto Lorde form to merge and teach him. This is also why even in Mugetsu form, his reiatsu is black like the hollows, but yet only his appearance and hair color resembled Ywhach, it was a powerful but incomplete amalgamation of all of his powers unleashed. There's more but this is all I can truly think of off the top of my head
The last part is not necesarily true, we don't know but his final getsuga is very very similar to the Vollstanding of old, the one Uryu used against mayuri, he loses everything after and wields a reishi weapon, so there is that to take into consideration.
I like to Imagine when Ichigo ask learn how to Final Getsuga to Quincy Zangetsu and Quincy Zangetsu be like "Idk wtf is Final Getsuga but here i teach u Quincy Vollstandig, He doesnt know it anyway" lol
@@Mosdra_Kazuma I meant it wasn’t developed 1000 years ago, which is the representation of Yhwach in the inner world. They may be connected in some ways, but judging by the interactions between Ichigo and Yhwach, Quincy powers, manifested as Yhwach inside Ichigo and the real one don’t share memories, so the only thing “Zangetsu” would know is Letzt Stil.
The funny thing is that the game Brave Souls proposed a couple of what if, and there is one when Ichigo took the road of full quincy and mastered that. It's like the dangai version but with bow and arrows XD
If you go back to episode 19 around the 13 min mark you can see Ichigo meeting "zangetsu" for the first time and when he tries saying his name it's censored but you can still hear "ha" which means "Yhwach" in japanese. The foreshadowing in this show is insane! Also, back then Tensa zangetsu mentioned that the inner world looks like Ichigos heart and it will drown if Ichigo is sad. When Zangetsu tells Ichigo he wasn't Zangetsu his world crumbled and everything drowned in water, amazing story telling!
So Ichigo and Zaraki had similar situation, they both weren't using their real strenght because they were held back by something, Zaraki by himself, Ichigo by his Quincy's powers.

When Ywach appeared in the manga first time, the manga readers thought Ywach was a copy design and the author lost his creativity. Old man zangetsu and young tensa zangetsu have the appearance of Ywach when he was younger.
The Zanpaktou Rebellion Arc further expanded on old man Zangetsu's intentions and how he encouraged Ichigo to utilize his hollow reiatsu. This episode was pure poetry.

The panel with White and Old Man Zangetsu looking over Ichigo and his new two zanpaktou was beautiful in the manga and one of the best panels in the entire series.
Now, we FINALLY know how OP Ichigo is.. Although old man “Zangetsu” (aka Ichigo’s quincy power form) suppressed his power, and now he is releasing the suppression, Ichigo “still” can beat all his enemies in the past.. If you know, you know.. I hope Kubo and Taguchi make the final battle between Ichigo and “The Father of All Quincies” different from the manga and make it incredibly great…
Auswahlen is technique basically which yhwach decided to steal powers from quincies he sees as impure so it doesn't matter if you are a pure Quincy or not if he thinks you are impure you are impure and hence your powers are stolen from you uryu survived the auswahlen 9 years ago ( not explained in the episode) because yhwach considers him as the purest among all quincies.
Important note: Ulquiorra was shocked that Ichigo was weaker than he expected in the area car arc’s beginning. That’s because when Ichigo was fighting Soul Society, “Zangetsu” let him use a little more power. When Ichigo was teaming with the Soul Reapers, Zangetsu let him use less of it.
yeaaaaaa Yhwach's VA is the exact same as Zangetsu from way back. In Episode 2 of TYBW u said u liked Yhwach's voice i was sooo scared that you would recognize it I was thinking to myself "NO WAY YOU FIGURE THIS OUT SOO EARLY". Luckly you didnt and didnt look up the VA.
36:20 When Byakuya mentioned that Ichigo’s bankai isn’t a real bankai he was correct. If you remember when Yamamoto vs Ywach, Haschwalth said a similar thing about the Head Captains’s bankai. This was a call back because Old man Zangestu formed Ichigo’s “bankai” from the only one he knew. Which was the head captains bankai (small black sword).
It's probably good that Renji wasn't there when Ichigo got his asauchi--imagine if half of them tried to beat the crap out of him for three days, while the other half just bowed down to Ichigo. His ego has had enough hits across the series as is... Also, you may have missed it (or at least not mentioned it), but Ichigo has fused with his zanpakuto now that they have been reforged. He's actually MUCH stronger than he was when he fought Aizen, although Aizen has also fused with his zanpakuto in the meantime as well. Another thing is, Ichigo hasn't actually unlocked bankai yet, as his fake sword was just Quincy energy shaped into a sword, with shikai and bankai being the Old Man decreasing the amount of energy that he is blocking. His shikai, is stronger than his old "bankai," and he can theoretically unlock a true bankai above even than.
30:05 Aizen was the catalyst as well as the observer, but he was never in full control of what happened. If he were, he would not have lost. Imagine setting a tiny fire beside a huge pile of wood and watching it grow uncontrollably. Suddenly, the forest 20m away erupts in flames. You are sitting there with your fire extinguisher, but the fire is already WAY to big. You and your fire extinguisher are Aizen, the Hollow White / Ichigo was the fire.
[Tidbits & Clarifications] [Get ready for a mini Book, lol (For those interested in particular details)] - This episode is so important because it effectively finishes off Ichigo's character development. As we all know the Zanpaktou is representative of a Characters self progression and Here Ichigo finally gets a Completed Zanpaktou. Both parts of Zangetsu finally accept Ichigo because Ichigo finally accepts and loves himself, Which is something he couldn't do given his trauma. - That last bit about Yhwach being responsible for Masaki's death is also important because as I stated on several occasions Ichigo still carries that trauma, he still blamed himself for his mother's death, He couldn't accept himself because he was the cause of his greatest failure, and now he has a true target to point his blade towards. -Throughout the entire show Ichigo's Quincy power never said he was Zangetsu, in fact, the first & only time that part of Ichigo's soul spoke its name, we could not hear it. More important is that if you go back through the story "White" always told us that he is Zangetsu. Think about the entire SS arc, it was actually White that kept saving Ichigo. Kubo loves writing in this fashion where he blends Metaphors and Foreshadowing to make the viewers that pay attention cling to a false understanding. - Some still question "Then how did Ichigo have a Zanpaktou all this time". The hollow "White" was made from Shinigami Souls, so practically Ichigo had something akin to an Asauchi, yet made with a hollow as a base. This is also why whenever he got stronger as a Shinigami, His hollow powers did as well because his Shinigami and Hollow Powers are one. - It's really cool how Kubo uses Ichigo being a mixed breed to show that he has Quincy Powers, we can assume that this Young Ywach looking being existed in all Quincy, but unlike Ichigo, Quincies can't visit their inner soul...only Shinigami can, so Ichigo would be the only one in existence able of experiencing this. -This part of Ichigo that looks like Young Ywach seems to carry Quincy intent, yet also seeks to protect Ichigo. I always found it fascinating because this Quincy part of him believed becoming a Shinigami = Conflict and suffering so he actively tried to keep that from happening. I still wonder if maybe this belief comes from Ywach himself. - The special Gigai Urahara used with Isshin was the same kind Urahara used in an attempt to secretly turn Rukia Human. - The long Blade is representative of his Shinigami & Hollow powers and the short blade is his Quincy powers. - Bleach blends Buddhist themes and Christian themes when crafting its lore. Buddhism has a concept known as Samsara and within that concept, you have something known as 6 Paths, 3 of them are virtuous paths and the other 3 are unbenelovent paths...One of those "bad" paths is the Animal path, which plays into Komamura's clan being beast .
- Also if you think about it, because Ichigo never used his real Zanpakuto and even his "Bankai" was more akin to Ressurcsion, it can be that Final Getsuga and Mugetsu were actually Letzt Stil - great power boost, big reatsu enveloping user and lose of his power as a result.
@@deusgamemaster2242 the Final Getsuga Tenshou and the Getsuga Tenshou is a Shiba family kekkei genkai. This is why Isshin can use it and teach to Ichigo how to accuire it. Even Ganju can use the Getsuga Tenshou and he said, that if he would have a zanpaktou, then his GT would be bigger and stronger.
The thing is that in chapter 480, the beginning of the tybw arc ywach looked more like zangetsu with a trimmed down mustache. But over time his mustache got thicker as we progressed in the manga. And the anime kept the thick mustache from the beginning of the tybw anime.
It gets even sadder that Masaki won't be coming back reincarnated since her soul was a quincy and they get completely destroyed by hollows since they are complete opposites of each other, just like how quincies can completely destroy the hollow and the soul within.
The moment Yhwach was first shown in the manga, there were people pointing out that he looked like Old Man Zangetsu. But I don't think people took that has Old Man Zangetsu as actually being Yhwach.
Theory about if Ichigo needs to retrain for bankai: I think unlocking Shikai is a sort of discipline that normally takes growing with and better understanding the power of your zanpakuto, which is an imprint of your soul onto the Asauchi. So a sort of "getting to know yourself" development. I think a Bankai is a honing of that discipline to best bring out its potential, which even after attaining Bankai, you can continue to develop and strengthen it. Ichigo has already figured out the lessons needed to at least achieve Bankai imo, so relearning or unlocking it will most likely be second nature to him by now, given the experiences he's had along the way. In the method he used with Yuroichi to attain Bankai, each of the fake zanpakuto were "his weaknesses" that he needed to identify or overcome. I think that experience is transferable to his new zanpakuto, since he understands that both, the hollow, and quincy powers are himself and he accepts both now.
in essence, ichigo hasn't really been using a shikai/bankai, but a vollständig. And his final getsuga was basically Letzt Stil (the thing ishida used to defeat mayuri, due to which he lost his powers). now, he's actually using his shinigami powers. and hollow powers which are his shinigami powers. and then also using the quincy powers. while being empowered by the fullbring.
It's been a while since a read the manga...but i don't remember that the whole Auswählen was reveal here ! That is the major explanation on why as powerful Masaki was, she could be defeated by a simple Hollow. More reason for Ichigo to hate Yhwach Bach now...and for Uryu as well...
The Hollow is the one that always saved Ichigo. That’s why when he transformed into a Vasto Lorde he said “I will save you”, meaning the Hollow will save Ichigo… and we thought Ichigo was saying that to Orehime.
Funny to think yuzu and Karin are soul reapers Quincy's fullbringers and can hollowfy if they train they may be just as strong as Ichigo bc his power is all in the blood
Neel you can 100% cosplay as Hisagi idk why I just see it. Whenever you get to the Hisagi centric episode(s) in the Zanpakuto rebellion arc keep that in mind 😂.
My favorite headcanon is that throughout the entire series Ichigo kept pushing his hollow out of his way (back of his head) never accepting him but in the scene where all the asauchi bowed to him, Ichigo walks to the back of the room and finally accepts his hollow who accepted his King. I thought it was really cool idk where I read this from tho

Getsuga is an inherited ability of the shiba clan. Ishin and even kayan used it. But the elemental properties are different for each shinigami who used it. So ishin has fire element zanpaktou so his getsuga is a fire type. Whereas ichigo is hollow based due to white melding with his latent shingami powers at birth. Hence why his getsuga resembles a cero, as ulquiroa pointed out
Love how kubo utilized an old concept instead of creating new ones. The gigai that makes a soul reaper a human was used on Rukia literally in the first arc
just for some clarification, the super lieutenant is a gag, its just so she doesn't get upset/angry. An the actual lieutenant was saved by the current captain years ago, and he's his original role model before tozen, hence the "69" tattoo they both share (he copied it from his savior/og captain) ~ this is from one of the filler arcs, think the zanpkatu rebellion's one. next the running gag of ichigo not being able to control his reiatsu is explained indirectly here. Essentially since ichigio never had full control of his own powers, b/c he didnt know what his power was (quincy/hollow/shini) and his inner soul was in a constant state of mess he had trouble controlling his reiatsu throughout the series. Notable examples is during the SS arc, he couldn't make a stable bubble, and during the aizen fight, when him and unohana were bickering who should lead/make a stable bridge. For the bankai, that was/is his true bankai using his quincy/repressed powers. The whole thing about bakuya is he talks a big game, but he's still young in the grandscheme of things and lacks knowledge. Bankai can have smaller forms to compress their power and make it more deadly Ichigo/Head Captain as non-spoiler examples. Also he was shocked by the speed in which he was able to get to his bankai. considering he went from no first form, to first form, and then bankai in a few weeks. An the reiatsu requirements usually being that he needs to belong to one of the 5 main clans (which we find out in this arc that he does) but that perspective is also false (explained indirectly throughout the series)
18:52 you know what? In this scene kensei is one of those who have the most right to talk shit about tosen. Because tosen was kensei's subordinate back in Turn Back The Pendulum arc and tosen literally stabbed him from back and killed his other subordinates. At the same time i also understand hisagi and i guess he doesn't know about this backstory and all.
Now it makes sense that Ichigo lose is powers when he used final getsuga or mugetsu because its his quincy powers, like when uryu use his powers to defeat captain kurotsuchi, they use the same technique.

I guess tensa zangetsu when he fused with the hollow is a more true representation of Ichigo powers . We could say at that moment his Quincy powers decided to finally accept the fact that Ichigo will always be a shinigami and fused to show his what his true power would look like
Haha it's ok bro, many people didn't catch it. I got lucky because I never trusted old man Zangetsu because he'd always dance around certain topics and not to mention his hands are never shown. People have something to hide when they hide their arms, especially in coats. When I first saw quincy daddy in the manga and he said he's a part of every quincy, I was like oh, you sly dog bro. Not to mention his hair looks exactly the same.
The one thing about this whole plot twist that I think they genuinely messed up on was how that when Muramasa, the zanpakuto, was pulling out other zanpakuto, and had done the same to Ichigo, the hollow did not come out but rather the old man (who was NOT his zanpakuto) came out. Now, this could also play in to the whole plot twist if we were to assume that the Old Man had tricked everyone in to manifesting himself as Zangetsu, whilst his true zanpakuto (the hollow) was immune to Muromasa's powers because in essense he is a hollow-zanpakuto, perahps making Muromasa's technique powerless by default. I mean, that's really the only way I can imagine that whole situation maintaining the value of the plot twist. Either that, or the writers simply forgot about that and messed up.
Ichigo just pulled his og Zangetsu out of his soul when he first got it. We learn in this flashback Ichigo is a noble. That the reason he looks like Kaien is because his father is Kukaku’s sister and his cousin is Ganju. Byakuya said to Joushiro “He has no relation to the man you’re thinking” when Jourshiro first sees Ichigo but he was wrong.

Thats why Tite Kubo is a legend yow his story telling damn thats lit... The next season would be more interesting many new bankai will be shown finally and as for Ichigo his the ultimate hybrid Aizen would be proud
you need to know one thing that was only 20% of whatever Zangetsu could not suppress. Remember ichigo soul reaper badge limited 80% of Ichigo power . So far Ichigo has used only a small percentage of that fragment.
3:28 well there is a reason for it. pureblood quincy's are much stronger than mixedbloods. like look at masaki she's a young pureblood and is strong enough to kill vasto lorde class hollows and strong hollows without a scratch. and she wasn't even considered a strong pureblood
fun fact: ichigo in TYBW arc = doesn't rely on zangetsu's ( asking them for help/power, depends on them ) because he will fight for his own now zaraki in TYBW arc = learns his zanpaktou name and now wants to depend and use the power of nozarashi ( zaraki's zanpaktou ) ichigo at the start of series = fighting together with his zanpaktou zaraki at the start of series = zanpaktou are just tools for fighting, asking for help and fighting together sounds bullshit ( LOL ) ichigo vs zaraki = you can see ichigo fighting together with his fake zanpaktou ( old man zangetsu and a little bit of tap power from white, the real zanpaktou ) while zaraki doesn't care about his zanpaktou since he see's them objects and tools used for fighting only. ichigo and zaraki in end of the series = ichigo now fight's with his own power while zaraki now fighting together with nozarashi, the irony.

After the Soul King died they needed to replace him and Ichigo is literally the closest thing to the Soul King by holding huge amounts of reiatsu, having every single power aka being a hybrid of every race and being a ally to the Soul Society.
In the end Yhwach's reiatsu after he was defeated was holding the worlds together, so the Soul King isn't needed anymore... At least for now, Yhwach's reiatsu is protecting the world's, what is kinda ironic because he wanted to destroy that world system and re-create the old one from millions and thousands of years where all worlds were in one combined one.

The Bankai Ichigo has been using until now was, basically, a resurrección. So yeah, Byakuya was right and so was Harribel, when she was watching Ichigo and Grimmjow fight and she said “it feels like I’m watching 2 espada fight one another”.
I thought it was the opposite, Zangetsu Quincy used himself as the basis of his sword instead of what his hollow/soul reaper powers, so as a result it was an incomplete version of his Zanpakto

White Ichigo when he fought Ichigo in Ichigo's inner world he said to Ichigo: "I'm Zangetsu" that was very early forshadowing that Ichigo's true Zanpakuto was White and not "the old man" what was actually Yhwach. Also against Kenapchi "the old man" aka Yhwach aka Zangetsu used blut vene to stop Ichigo's bleeding. I always found it weird that "Zangetsu" could stop Ichigo's bleeding because only Ichigo's Zanpakuto showed this ability but now everything makes sense, a lot of forshadowing we missed!

@@DaReal601 I personally didn't miss the white Ichigo forshadowing but I did miss the blut vene one against Kenapchi, although that's an easy one to miss. "Zangetsu" said to Ichigo I will lend you my power and stop the bleeding, back then I didn't read too deep into it and I think most of us didn't but now that we know that he is his Quincy power it makes sense why he was able to stop the bleeding.

So the wait for me after the anime ended felt long but the manga helped me in that time frame also watching Bleach videos many years after the anime and the manga ended and now we have the TYBW anime what is unreal and still feels like a dream.
Even though the movie isn't canon, but even in Hell Verse we see Ichiga use Sklavarei on one of the Hell Guardians and absorbing it and taking it's power. The same thing Quilge did in Hueco Mundo.

Now that I'm watching the anime after years of reading the manga , I just realized how good of a writing Bleach has since episode 1. Everything was here and planned since its beginning , Tite is truly a genius
People just hate bleach like it's a trend to hate it while fillers do damage it's flow but just skip it. But if you read manga it's totally different experience.
Bleach’s level of foreshadowing and characterization is absolutely god tier in terms of writing. A lot of people shit on Bleach especially when the manga ended and completely ignored all the amazing moments, characters, and stories. Like holy shit I’ve heard multiple reactors and reviewers say Aizen is one of the best anime villains. And everyone being so blown away by TYBW and such further shows how much the series affected people.

There were so many hints throughout the story. In the beginning when Ichigo was awakening his own soul reaper powers with Urahara, Old man Zangetsu tried to tell him his name but it was inaudible, there's another reason for that, but it makes little sense when he told him his name was Zangetsu very soon. In Hollowfication training, he said "I AM ZANGETSU" and at the end of that training he said "if you want to master this power, don't die until our next meeting,", then when he died vs Ulquiorra, his hollow took over and protected him and healed him, and it wasn't his Quincy powers Blut Vene, and old man Zangetsu didn't come to stop the wound like he did versus Kenpachi, even when Ichigo and Kenpachi had their final attack clash, ichigos reiatsu aura behind him was the mask of his follow, not anything else. Final getsuga tensho training, Bankai version old man Zangetsu had to summon his Vasto Lorde form to merge and teach him. This is also why even in Mugetsu form, his reiatsu is black like the hollows, but yet only his appearance and hair color resembled Ywhach, it was a powerful but incomplete amalgamation of all of his powers unleashed. There's more but this is all I can truly think of off the top of my head
Also, it explains why his reiatsu was so enormous when he first got his shinigami powers. There was so much latent power in here...

The last part is not necesarily true, we don't know but his final getsuga is very very similar to the Vollstanding of old, the one Uryu used against mayuri, he loses everything after and wields a reishi weapon, so there is that to take into consideration.

The funny thing is that the game Brave Souls proposed a couple of what if, and there is one when Ichigo took the road of full quincy and mastered that. It's like the dangai version but with bow and arrows XD

If you go back to episode 19 around the 13 min mark you can see Ichigo meeting "zangetsu" for the first time and when he tries saying his name it's censored but you can still hear "ha" which means "Yhwach" in japanese. The foreshadowing in this show is insane!
Also, back then Tensa zangetsu mentioned that the inner world looks like Ichigos heart and it will drown if Ichigo is sad. When Zangetsu tells Ichigo he wasn't Zangetsu his world crumbled and everything drowned in water, amazing story telling!

Now, we FINALLY know how OP Ichigo is.. Although old man “Zangetsu” (aka Ichigo’s quincy power form) suppressed his power, and now he is releasing the suppression, Ichigo “still” can beat all his enemies in the past..
If you know, you know.. I hope Kubo and Taguchi make the final battle between Ichigo and “The Father of All Quincies” different from the manga and make it incredibly great…

Auswahlen is technique basically which yhwach decided to steal powers from quincies he sees as impure so it doesn't matter if you are a pure Quincy or not if he thinks you are impure you are impure and hence your powers are stolen from you uryu survived the auswahlen 9 years ago ( not explained in the episode) because yhwach considers him as the purest among all quincies.

When Byakuya mentioned that Ichigo’s bankai isn’t a real bankai he was correct. If you remember when Yamamoto vs Ywach, Haschwalth said a similar thing about the Head Captains’s bankai. This was a call back because Old man Zangestu formed Ichigo’s “bankai” from the only one he knew. Which was the head captains bankai (small black sword).

Also, you may have missed it (or at least not mentioned it), but Ichigo has fused with his zanpakuto now that they have been reforged. He's actually MUCH stronger than he was when he fought Aizen, although Aizen has also fused with his zanpakuto in the meantime as well. Another thing is, Ichigo hasn't actually unlocked bankai yet, as his fake sword was just Quincy energy shaped into a sword, with shikai and bankai being the Old Man decreasing the amount of energy that he is blocking. His shikai, is stronger than his old "bankai," and he can theoretically unlock a true bankai above even than.

- This episode is so important because it effectively finishes off Ichigo's character development. As we all know the Zanpaktou is representative of a Characters self progression and Here Ichigo finally gets a Completed Zanpaktou. Both parts of Zangetsu finally accept Ichigo because Ichigo finally accepts and loves himself, Which is something he couldn't do given his trauma.
- That last bit about Yhwach being responsible for Masaki's death is also important because as I stated on several occasions Ichigo still carries that trauma, he still blamed himself for his mother's death, He couldn't accept himself because he was the cause of his greatest failure, and now he has a true target to point his blade towards.
-Throughout the entire show Ichigo's Quincy power never said he was Zangetsu, in fact, the first & only time that part of Ichigo's soul spoke its name, we could not hear it. More important is that if you go back through the story "White" always told us that he is Zangetsu. Think about the entire SS arc, it was actually White that kept saving Ichigo. Kubo loves writing in this fashion where he blends Metaphors and Foreshadowing to make the viewers that pay attention cling to a false understanding.
- Some still question "Then how did Ichigo have a Zanpaktou all this time". The hollow "White" was made from Shinigami Souls, so practically Ichigo had something akin to an Asauchi, yet made with a hollow as a base. This is also why whenever he got stronger as a Shinigami, His hollow powers did as well because his Shinigami and Hollow Powers are one.
- It's really cool how Kubo uses Ichigo being a mixed breed to show that he has Quincy Powers, we can assume that this Young Ywach looking being existed in all Quincy, but unlike Ichigo, Quincies can't visit their inner soul...only Shinigami can, so Ichigo would be the only one in existence able of experiencing this.
-This part of Ichigo that looks like Young Ywach seems to carry Quincy intent, yet also seeks to protect Ichigo. I always found it fascinating because this Quincy part of him believed becoming a Shinigami = Conflict and suffering so he actively tried to keep that from happening. I still wonder if maybe this belief comes from Ywach himself.
- The special Gigai Urahara used with Isshin was the same kind Urahara used in an attempt to secretly turn Rukia Human.
- The long Blade is representative of his Shinigami & Hollow powers and the short blade is his Quincy powers.
- Bleach blends Buddhist themes and Christian themes when crafting its lore. Buddhism has a concept known as Samsara and within that concept, you have something known as 6 Paths, 3 of them are virtuous paths and the other 3 are unbenelovent paths...One of those "bad" paths is the Animal path, which plays into Komamura's clan being beast .
- Also if you think about it, because Ichigo never used his real Zanpakuto and even his "Bankai" was more akin to Ressurcsion, it can be that Final Getsuga and Mugetsu were actually Letzt Stil - great power boost, big reatsu enveloping user and lose of his power as a result.

The thing is that in chapter 480, the beginning of the tybw arc ywach looked more like zangetsu with a trimmed down mustache. But over time his mustache got thicker as we progressed in the manga. And the anime kept the thick mustache from the beginning of the tybw anime.
It gets even sadder that Masaki won't be coming back reincarnated since her soul was a quincy and they get completely destroyed by hollows since they are complete opposites of each other, just like how quincies can completely destroy the hollow and the soul within.

The moment Yhwach was first shown in the manga, there were people pointing out that he looked like Old Man Zangetsu. But I don't think people took that has Old Man Zangetsu as actually being Yhwach.
Theory about if Ichigo needs to retrain for bankai: I think unlocking Shikai is a sort of discipline that normally takes growing with and better understanding the power of your zanpakuto, which is an imprint of your soul onto the Asauchi. So a sort of "getting to know yourself" development. I think a Bankai is a honing of that discipline to best bring out its potential, which even after attaining Bankai, you can continue to develop and strengthen it. Ichigo has already figured out the lessons needed to at least achieve Bankai imo, so relearning or unlocking it will most likely be second nature to him by now, given the experiences he's had along the way. In the method he used with Yuroichi to attain Bankai, each of the fake zanpakuto were "his weaknesses" that he needed to identify or overcome. I think that experience is transferable to his new zanpakuto, since he understands that both, the hollow, and quincy powers are himself and he accepts both now.

My favorite headcanon is that throughout the entire series Ichigo kept pushing his hollow out of his way (back of his head) never accepting him but in the scene where all the asauchi bowed to him, Ichigo walks to the back of the room and finally accepts his hollow who accepted his King. Getsuga is an inherited ability of the shiba clan. Ishin and even kayan used it. But the elemental properties are different for each shinigami who used it. Hence why his getsuga resembles a cero, as ulquiroa pointed out

just for some clarification, the super lieutenant is a gag, its just so she doesn't get upset/angry. An the actual lieutenant was saved by the current captain years ago, and he's his original role model before tozen, hence the "69" tattoo they both share (he copied it from his savior/og captain) ~ this is from one of the filler arcs, think the zanpkatu rebellion's one.
next the running gag of ichigo not being able to control his reiatsu is explained indirectly here. Essentially since ichigio never had full control of his own powers, b/c he didnt know what his power was (quincy/hollow/shini) and his inner soul was in a constant state of mess he had trouble controlling his reiatsu throughout the series. Notable examples is during the SS arc, he couldn't make a stable bubble, and during the aizen fight, when him and unohana were bickering who should lead/make a stable bridge.
For the bankai, that was/is his true bankai using his quincy/repressed powers. The whole thing about bakuya is he talks a big game, but he's still young in the grandscheme of things and lacks knowledge. Bankai can have smaller forms to compress their power and make it more deadly Ichigo/Head Captain as non-spoiler examples. Also he was shocked by the speed in which he was able to get to his bankai. considering he went from no first form, to first form, and then bankai in a few weeks. An the reiatsu requirements usually being that he needs to belong to one of the 5 main clans (which we find out in this arc that he does) but that perspective is also false (explained indirectly throughout the series)

Haha it's ok bro, many people didn't catch it. I got lucky because I never trusted old man Zangetsu because he'd always dance around certain topics and not to mention his hands are never shown. People have something to hide when they hide their arms, especially in coats. When I first saw quincy daddy in the manga and he said he's a part of every quincy, I was like oh, you sly dog bro. Not to mention his hair looks exactly the same.
The one thing about this whole plot twist that I think they genuinely messed up on was how that when Muramasa, the zanpakuto, was pulling out other zanpakuto, and had done the same to Ichigo, the hollow did not come out but rather the old man (who was NOT his zanpakuto) came out. Now, this could also play in to the whole plot twist if we were to assume that the Old Man had tricked everyone in to manifesting himself as Zangetsu, whilst his true zanpakuto (the hollow) was immune to Muromasa's powers because in essense he is a hollow-zanpakuto, perahps making Muromasa's technique powerless by default. I mean, that's really the only way I can imagine that whole situation maintaining the value of the plot twist. Either that, or the writers simply forgot about that and messed up.

Ichigo just pulled his og Zangetsu out of his soul when he first got it. We learn in this flashback Ichigo is a noble. That the reason he looks like Kaien is because his father is Kukaku’s sister and his cousin is Ganju. Byakuya said to Joushiro “He has no relation to the man you’re thinking” when Jourshiro first sees Ichigo but he was wrong.
