From my understanding, these are old Mahindra CJ3B Jeeps, with the original body chucked away, and a Willys MB style body mounted instead. No licenses or anything, it’s just shade tree auto workshops - the same kind where one would take their damaged vehicle after a crash to fix it; the denting and painting, where jeeps like these are minted out Willys MB lookalike clones by the dozens, some build better than the others. There’s quite a demand, so it’s pretty common to spot atleast 2-3 dozen such workshops minting out jeeps in any of the cities known for building them, in the state that I live in - Punjab. Do keep in mind though, these bodies are mostly out to cheap metal sheets, and that too pretty thin gauge one as well, since it is harder, and more intensive, both in time and labour, to beat into shape a metal sheet that is anywhere close to as thick as that used on the original Willys or even the old Mahindra made factory jeep bodies. Forger registration papers, most of them do not have the proper papers, since the engines are usually changed, petrol to diesel, or old diesel to a modern one, which in itself is not legal in India. In most cases, either the engine no section on the papers will be left blank, or sometimes, they even grind out the Number on the replacement engine block and stamp in the old engine number - I leave to you to figure out the legality of that. Sometimes a little bit of under the table transaction at the registration office has to suffice. You know, everything thay follows is more or less on similar lines. Besides, even changing the body to another falls under the registration authority calls “Body Alteration,” which again is illegal. Although in case of jeeps, it tends to suffice without having to deal with the body alteration problem with the authorities since Flatfender jeeps do tend to look more or less similar anyway.

R T A offices across India may not register MODIFIED vehicles (DUPLICATE/XEROX COPY/ CHEAP COPY of the original ) especially after April 2020. They are ALLERGIC to the word MODIFIED. This can be verified with the authorities directly. Also, YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR applies in case of these Jeeps. This is just a feed back for those who are in the business of selling these Jeeps. I personally like the way they make it so affordable (ok cheap) compared to BRAND NAME Indian Jeeps. If you can sought it all out with the Registration authorities in the state of your customers and have a particular R T A agent in that state who will coordinate with your customers to get it registered, then your sales will increase and all your hard work will pay off. No customer wants to be harrassed by the authorities or the Jeep impounded after paying from their hard earned money. This is just a concerned and friendly suggestion to get the act straight with your customers. RTA laws are made in the parliament and no one has enough clout to change it to suit their convenience. These are hard facts of bureaucratic red tape which have to be understood by both the buyer and the seller.

By looking at speedometer cluster, I think those are old willys assembled by Mahindra during mid 60's... probably those are old phased out Indian army vehicles. ...

willys MB or ford 1942 have lot of difference in external looks, than ur replica models, I suggest you to change the fuel tank position under front seat, some minor improvement in front windshield frame position and shape, bonnet shape., it would look more authentic to resemble WW II era ford MB jeep
