    Great checklist. I'll be DS1 Stage 4 on E85 by the end of next week. You should check out the Forced Induction (FI) Interchiller for drastically reducing your IC coolant temp.

      Thanks for all the info! It’s really what folks like to hear. I have a question about the oil plugging issue, is there any pre- warning signs before the turbos fail?

    Definately got me thinking about giving GMP a call. They completed my APR stage 2 build back in Jan. 2018. Be solid since. Looking for a little more "pre maintanance" goodies to take it to the next level.
    Since my build, more turbo failures have happened and more solutions are now available to address the 4.0t issues.

    Great video. I am in Australia and can count on pretty much tripling the actual final price of this build. Sort of prohibitive. So I just sourced a low milage RS7 instead and will see what that brings.

    Really nice breakdown. Currently I’m in a process of Building a 4.0T S6 C7. I got stock RS6 turbos. Would those be enough for 600+ with supporting mods or the hybrids are a MUST?

    • @savagepandaprojects
      @savagepandaprojects  ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks for watching. If you are fine with 600bhp/crank hp then yes oem RS7 sized turbos are sufficient. If your shooting for 600+whp then you probably want to do more with custom tuning, fueling, etc.

    • @savagepandaprojects
      @savagepandaprojects  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks for checking out the videos! I actually went from stock to stage 3 single the turbos were worn at about 70k and the pcv had failed so it was most efficient labor wise to do everything at once.

    • @island3r289

      @@savagepandaprojects , Thanks for the quick response. I got the APR Stage 1 ECU/TCU Tune a few months ago on my '13 c7 s6, but recently found out that I have upgraded turbos (SRM+4). Could I go to Stage 3 without an upgraded cooling system and downpipes? Thanks again for any feedback.....

    • @savagepandaprojects
      @savagepandaprojects  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@island3r289 glad to help, you definitely need supporting mods for those turbos. Upgraded heat exchanger mandatory. Ecu and Tcu tune also required. Don't necessarily need downpipes but it's up to the person.

    Looking at a ‘15 S7, almost 120K miles. I’m in CO, car is in Oregon. Just off of that, is it worth going after? I’m pretty mechanically inclined, so hearing about the turbo failure and the oil screen issue, that’s probably my biggest scare.

    • @savagepandaprojects
      @savagepandaprojects  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Up to you and what you are comfortable doing. Plan for oil screen, PCV, new turbos, along with all supporting parts. These cars obviously do have their fair share of problems (air suspension, motor mounts, turbos, etc.) Definitely want to have some money saved on the side in case stuff breaks!

    • @coffeydrinker05
      @coffeydrinker05 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@savagepandaprojects I don’t have a problem with all of that. After watching this video, I’ll be heading that way, if I do buy it. I just don’t wanna run into issues right off the bat. Like I still don’t know if the oil screen recall, has been done. 👀 Will these motors last? Like block and heads?

    • @savagepandaprojects
      @savagepandaprojects  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      yeah totally understand! I mean mine had 69k on it when I got it. Drove it for about a year and sold it at around 80k. Car still runs great. (I hope to do a follow up video someday with my buddy who owns it now) I think the 4.0T is a very stout engine that can hold up to some serious power. From what I have experienced it doesn't have nearly the oil consumption issues like many other older Audis. Try to get as much info as possible before you get it if you can. Maybe try to coordinate a pre/post purchase inspection to get a solid health check as well.

    Curious in this build. If I’m going stage 3 ecu/tcu do all these upgrades need to be done at once or should I focus on the turbos since they’re known to blow. I get the other upgrades will probably help performance and keep everything healthy but I’m only 16 and don’t really have the budget for all these upgrades at once. What do you reccomend?

    • @savagepandaprojects

    Does the heat exchanger and the oil feed line kit have the potential to void a warranty? I don’t have plans to upgrade power other than a straight pipe setup and exhaust but I’m curious if any of these things might void the warranty?

    • @savagepandaprojects
      @savagepandaprojects  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I'd probably start with trying to have the oil screen & pcv handled under the audi recall first. I did the full stage 3 build all at once because I was already out of warranty and this was before audi had issued a recall. As far those mods it really depends on your relationship with your dealership. I would refer you to the Magnuson moss warranty act for additional clarification. A tune for sure will usually void the power train warranty but a heat exchanger I don't forsee that as a huge issue.
