A lot of armchair quarterbacks ripping on Johnny here but overall I think he deserves some credit. If you know anything about him his family moved something like 15 times when he was a kid, and I don't think his dad was ever much of a part in his life, which is tough when you are a boy. jonny depp is incredibly mindgifted to the arts talented person all the movies as well very good
when he was young he looked like a young woman that how to make it in hollywood some person likes you in a certain way
I like how when talking about Hunter is Anxiety is not really there, where as if he speaks about himself it very much is, fantastic dude, fucking bat shit insane to some degree but I think Robin williams had it right saying "You're only given a little spark of madness. You mustn't lose it." Depp aint lost his, he puts it into the characters he plays and the way he is when out of highly social situations, this guy is without a doubt one of the better actors there has ever been. (was tempted to make a Pirates reference but opted not to), also for the record Anxiety sucks, there is a reason I spend most of my days avoiding people where possible.
I simply avoid people be cuz mosr of them really really sux and are uncool
I respect someone wanting their book to be read in a certain inflection. When I've had my stuff read aloud, it really annoys me when people don't put emphasis on the correct things, or if their timing isn't the way I intended.
Ive been a fan of audio books for....well about 50 years....u tube is blessing too...anyway...your right...even a smuck like me gets irritated sometimes...i was shocked at the zombie book ...how only the title was bought.mmbut it was one of the few the author read...its rare....but Cumberbatch does a really good job...and i finally broke down and listened to all the agatha christi stuff...it was rather sleep inducing...which when your pushing 80 is hard to do.
It's too bad it took me too long to realize who Hunter Thompson is. I'm glad thanks to Johnny Depp I get to know more about him
I would honestly love to make a movie about Johnny and Hunter hanging out, a spiritual sequel to Fear & Loathing
Imagine a fella who’d been on the sesh with hunter s Thompson, Shane macgowan and Keith Richards and managed to come out the other side Alive. Whatever you think of him that’s some achievement
Watching Lawrence Krauss fawn over Johnny Depp is a little stomach turning
Reading to someone with expression makes passion in the story.I had one good teacher in all my 18 years of classrooms.5th grade Mrs Gatewood read the Hobbit.I was hooked then and have never stopped.
*"FINISH! THE FUCKING STORY!.... What happened to the glands?!"* 👹
His impersonations are so good he just picks the character up and goes.
Johnny nailing the Phil Anselmo voice
4:02 The guy with his arms crossed just shaking his head LMAO!!!
must be Hunter's neighbour
Fuck that guy lol
Hope Johnny recovers from all the bullcrap he's been dealing with
4:01 man in the middle is clearly not amused
Hunter S. Thompson seemed to love to say "bastard" a lot.
I forgot Johnny Depp played him in the movie, too much acid
how could you forget i remember everything perfectly on acid, for about 12 hours atleast :p
@@Zlikken dropped 1200uq last week, barley remember anything was worst bad trip i ever had. Ever.
Played him in two movies really
@@Digger581 haha, yeah i got lots of experience with psychedelics. But this time was the most potent acid ive ever got, probly overdosed tabs.
And I got stuck in a closet with my friend, we both could not see The door and it felt like an eternity. Sometimes i had to say are you still there so i could hear his voice in back of my head so i would know i was still in the closet with him
@@jakobchristensen7860 1200 is too much man)
I wonder how many spirit dinners Johnny and Hunter attended?
Walnut sauce anyone?
Lawrence Cross with them red shoes... I just saw STG reporting on red shoes not long ago..... interesting, to say the least.
One too many
@FUCK GOOGLE bless you.. go back to sleep.
Don Lalo what about red shoes??
HUNTER S THOMPSON/ JOHNNY DEPP AMAZING ❤️❤️❤️💋
“ we went back to his house and we were spending time together “
Roughly translated..... doing lots of cocaine👌
Krauss has his red human leather shoes
Depp doesn't sound like anyone from KY I've ever heard.
He came to Fl. at an early age. The only accents you can really notice are way off of the coast. And they are ugly, worst than West Virginia ugly. If he did have one, there are lessons you can take to get rid of them. They work. Then you sound as dull as any midwesterner. Really fucking dull.
Watch an interview from the 80s it's there
Honestly there was one journalist who out Gonzoed Hunter Thompson without trying to. That was Michael Herr who became addicted to being in the field on patrol with Marine platoons in Vietnam when he was on assignment for a famous magazine in the mid late 60s. He just kept going back. He was in Ka Sonn when the Tet offensive happened. All the craziest scenes from Apocalypse Now are lifted from Dispatches.
So is there any truth to the surfing?
Yeah you can tell Johnny had a great friendship with him and was close to him Johnny seems like a great guy and they're both from Kentucky which is not far from where I live so that's pretty cool
Keeps changing which hand held Tazer and which hand held cattle prod from show to show. Still cool as hell.
Talk about how he came about the red shoes
Depp Looks like he's had a rough couple of years.
Oscar Gold an abusive wife will do that to you
And narcotics (not talking shit I’d snort coke with depp)
And drop acid with hunter Thompson 😂
@@DonnyFettucine coke is a narcotic?
Sara Ferguson yes
I literally just finished watching Fear and Loathing. So here I am.
@Human Being No i just pirate bayed it lol
Man!! It would have been sooo much fun to have hung out with both of them. Never a dull moment!!
this is one of the best videos ever
Red Shoes!
Yep! Tell me about it eh
his foot is at an odd angle
jonasvm88 hes well aware of that.his 3d wristwatch is probably set 2 min later than the other ones on his wrist.anything to be eccentric is his fashion.johnny depp shit
The guy in the red shoes is a quack.
I’m from Kentucky as well. Funny thing is, I’m going to Louisville in about a week.
My family is from Kentucky so it’s crazy seeing a lot of similarities between these fellas
I have done so much research on hunter... and let me tell you this.. Depp is his walking shadow.
jake20479 elaborate please
Johnny is a great story teller
He sounds like he has gotten so lost in all the characters he's played that he is not a being.
No Hunter was not just a character he played he was a friend of his they lived together so of course he was influenced by his friend. He has just known extraordinary people and lived an extraordinary life so regular people can't relate to that. He reminds me a bit of his mad hatter character though "we're all mad here". Then you see the rockstar part of his persona too but that is not an act either he's been with the Hollywood Vampires for years now.
That's right, he is a posessed person.
I love hearing this story
Spending time with Mr. Hunter was the best thing he ever done....
DERRICK FERREAL!! THERE YOU FUCKING HAPPY! lol
A great man talking about a mad genius, what can I ask more
The truth
I'd love to hear some of Hunter Thompson's books as a audiobooks narrated by Johnny Depp.
Johnny Depp. Always in character
Kind of frightening, don't you think?
Besides being a wonderful story, I really love the almost tilt shift angle of the audience
