February 2023 Main!!! One of the greatest fantabulous Studio-sessions produced by Stevie Wonder and performed by Earl Van Dyke and The legendary Motown Funk Brothers. With James Jamerson on bass, and three other session guitarist Dennis Coffey, and Ron White, Joe Massina. Even With long-awaited Smash hit at this point the Spinners had not decided to leave Motown yet. They were still relegated to subpar second-tier material. For some reason. For some reason BERRY Gordy didn't believe in Bobby Smith's lead vocal ability. Motown continue to sleep on this group Favor of The Temptations, The Miracles, and The Four Tops. Finally got out their floundering contract. Well! Record history has shown, and proven otherwise. A success due to Philly's Gimbal and Huff Productions With Thom Bell, writer-producer collaboration. The old adage of, "the proof is in the pudding" his still a truism. God bless Bobby Smith and The Spinners. Who helped Usher-in the soundtrack of my youth, and soul generation. February 2023 Black History Month G.C. Cameron on vocal lead for The Spinners, not Bobby Smith. G.C. was an interim short-term vocalist for The Spinners because Berry Gordy did not have the faith in Bobby Smith's lead vocal ability with the Spinners. G.C. was not an original member.of the group. Subsequently, after the group's solo album G.C.left and went on to become a solo artist. And then begin a Short tenure with the Temptations for a minute. He was replaced with Philippe Wayne and then John Edwards. By this time The Spinners had been released from their Motown contract and went to Atlantic Records where the group survived and persevered, they found greater hit-making success in their musical endeavors. We as fans are grateful that they switched and found their groove. Still "It's a shame"stands as one of Motown records greatest hits ever. From a group they let get away.
