    I prefer going from easy to difficult, because mastering the easy topics puts me in the flow. And the momentum of that flow pushes me right through the difficult topics (which all of a sudden seem much less challenging) It’s all about creating momentum.

    After thorough research and careful consideration, I’ve decided to study with you and have just purchased L2 Full Access for November 2024 exam. With four and a half months to go, I’m kicking off with Fixed Income and FRA. Wish me luck for the coming stressful months 🤓

    One thing to add is if you are doing this very early is to ask will you remember this in X many months? There is no point in studying ethics 9 months out, similarly, when studying early prioritize topics you think you can retain, this usually means the topics that are interesting to you. What that will be for everyone is different, but if do not do your boring topics this far out. Study smart not hard. Best of luck.

    Mark sir I passed level 1. Thanks a ton for all the content and free tips on preparation. I am sitting for Level 2 this June. Despite the amazing content, I think your learning methods and techniques helped me more in tackling weak areas. I hope to continue and sign up for level 2 soon. I hope of having more interaction via connecting on social networks. Thank you, sir.

    What you mention at the end about how difficult topics/problems get resolved somehow automatically over time, and how sometimes you wake up and the answer springs up, is actually very true from my experience as well. It is the magic of the subconscious mind at work, which works mainly when the conscious mind is in a state of sleep or akin to sleep.
    I was wondering doctor, what is your experience with the CFA certification? Have you taken the exams before or do you only teach the material?

    Hi Mark, I am preparing for June 2020 LII. I have been reading and practising for over 4 months. Also completed first round of readings of all books except- quant, economics, and ethics. I have revised couple of books also twice or even thrice. Books I am referring to are CFA institute books. Still I am not confident and keep forgetting things. I have checked out your 3m course. Can I call you to discuss lil more about the course and take it further. Also I am on a full time job. Thanks. Kunal.

    Prof Meldrum, would you recommend following the same sequence for the 2020 Level 2 exam?

    • @TheRohitsharma1234

      He should given there's no June 2019 anymore; Its effectively May 2020 only now.

    Dr. Meldrum, I am currently trying to develop a calendar for a study plan for the 2019 CFA Level 2 exam and I am needing your advice. How do you recommend spending the last month reviewing? If you have already covered this is a past video, would you please direct me to the video? Thank you.
    FYI.
    Currently, I plan to study all subjects in 33 weeks starting on 9/1/18 (except Ethics, leaving for the final two weeks). I then plan to watch your review videos while doing practice exams/questions for next 6 weeks. Leaving the last two weeks for Ethics. This is for a total of 41 weeks. Obviously, this is tentative but wanted to get your input before I dove head first.

      I will put videos up closer to exam time about review strategies. I do have some on TH-cam so it would be just a matter of searching the videos for the word "review" and a selection will show up.

    Hello Pro Mark. Unfortunately, I failed level 2 this year. Would be ok to study with the 2018 materials?

    • @MarkMeldrum
      @MarkMeldrum  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      There have been additions to L2 for 2019 in Ethics, Quant, FRA and Fixed Income.

    • @MarkMeldrum

      That is not an issue. Your CFA results never expire. Try to stay close to the content however - every now and then watch a video or two from Level 1.

    Hi Mark... I have been following your videos regularly over the past 6 months or so; just got my L2 results yesterday and I flunked in my second attempt.I am an IT professional with 10 years of experience and really wanted to make the career shift from IT to Finance using the CFA bridge....do you think its worth continuing for me or should I start looking at other avenues? May be an MBA from reputed school would help?

    • @MarkMeldrum
      @MarkMeldrum  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      It depends on how badly you failed. If you missed by a bit - then give it another try.

      Level 2 2019 is all set to go. Mock exams for 2019 are released Feb/Mar. We are still adding questions to our quiz bank and that will continue throughout the year. Currently we are sitting at about 1500 questions.

    I studied Level 2 but I could not attend the exam, here is my take on the difficulty (Yes, I studied very well too):
    Easy: - Equity, Corporate Finance, Quants (ridiculously easy), ethics, economics and fixed income.
    Medium: Atlernative Investments, portfolio Management and FRA
    WTF?!: Derivatives.
