One reason why private schools are so expensive is they provide more resources and have better teaching program. Most private school mandate learning of 2 musical instruments from Grade 2 - included in school fee. They have specialist teachers on Music, PE, Art/Drama etc... Weekend sport in secondary school is compulsory for everyone. Most have their own sport grounds and swimming pool. One of the most common events by private secondary schools is Overseas Music tour in December. This gives great experience to kids.
For public school, used to happen was Government would fund a teach per class of student. Important for the principal is to choose some with PE, Music, Art etc.. qualification so those area are covered. Music instrument teaching is optional. School facility is also limited.
Private school is normally more demanding for their student and they seek for better exam result - to prove that they worth the money and keep their reputation. Public school is much more relax. It is changing though, especially with more Asian students recent years. This has been raising the bar gradually. Success brings popularity, more student means more funding, so school culture are changing.
My advice - if you can afford, go private school, earlier the better. After all, it is the best gift we can give to our kids.

I think if parents are capable then definitely send children to private school. After all, living a fulfilling life is not just about earning heaps of money. They also need to learn to appreciate life and able to enjoy the world. Arts and PE is quite important, I resent having very narrow mind about the world when I was growing up.
@@arrowarrow8354 Very hard to say Yes or No in general. As in some good public schools, they have very good teachers as well.
@@arrowarrow8354 private school can pay more than public school. They normally demand more. But then qualifications do not imply good teaching automatically. It is still up to the person. Private school another advantage is they have better system and resources.

你好！想問Melbourne Girls College 的校風如何？多華人學生嗎？那區治安如何？
Melbourne Girls College是一所很好的女子公校，特别是体育活动在公校中是很强的，有rowing项目，一般只有top private school才提供rowing课程。MGC位于Richmond 和 Hawthorn 交界处的Richmond一侧，紧靠着Yarra River。 MGC的school zone 横跨Richmond和Hawthorn两区，还有部分在Kew。Richmond的治安就麻麻，但Hawthorn 和kew是老牌的富人区，治安很好，只是很贵。
想問如讀私校的教會中學，他們會收Internaional student 嗎？我見好多都只收PR的學生🙏🏻

Any Christian or Catholic secondary schools for girls (or co-ed) recommended around Doncaster or not too far away districts say within 10mins driving distance?
There is no Christian or Catholic secondary school for girls around Doncaster Area. And there is actually no Catholic Secondary school in Doncaster as well. The closest catholic secondary girls school may be in Box hill - Our lady of Sion. The closest Co-ed Christian school should be Donvale Christian College but they required Church referral.

其實大部份名校都已經join safe school program, 因為可以藉此額外政府的資助，而且它們教導内容是頗激的，可能大家要小心選校
