What makes this video great is they had fun with Tannerite but were safe about it. Not like other videos where people are 20 yards away and get injured. Nice shooting by the young lady!!

I worked in the Midwest for a couple years. One week of each month, our crew was on the road in WI and MN pulling maintenance on Army Reserve Centers. On the rural portions of our drives, I derived significant pleasure simply viewing the many old farmsteads and their great variety of structures, including silos. To me, it's a shame to see them disappearing; but this one's unsafe leaning condition doomed it to demolition for safety's sake. Not only was the silo brought down in an effective and evidently safe manner, but it produced entertainment for the live participants as well as nearly 200K TH-cam viewers as of early October 2021. Well done! The amount of Tannerite used was not specified, nor the cost. However, I'd be willing to wager that the job was accomplished for much less than a demolition contractor would have bid. Concrete stave silos like this one are deceptively strong and have a lot of excess load capacity, even when damaged. Great job of taking this one down in a safe, FUN way!
See! There's nothing wrong with applying explosives to do some work. I wish they start selling dynamite by the case in every hardware store like they used to. I think fishing would improve too.
Best part of this video is she makes first round hits both times, while half the tannerite videos show guys missing 1 or more shots first lol. Good shooting girl!
The Old Silo still stands. Theres strong bones, built to last. If those strong steel bands could talk, Would be of the high winds in their past. Cool video, good job, rock that country road.
That first camera shot of the second attempt looked like a ninja disappearing behind a smoke bomb. Now you see me, now you don't. The way the wind caught the smoke and carried it right over that camera was great too. I can't believe how quickly it came down though. The other angles really show that sucker dropping like a sack of potatoes.
@@MrTruckerf i got the idea from watching 'wall breaching charges' they use det cord inside a 'purpose made' plastic tub. then fill with water when on sight. , mount it to the wall. pop it , the charge pushes against the water and directs the energy in ,towards the wall. iv used plastic bags with water , shot through them and it works the same way. water denser than air. happy shooting sir.
@@hk93shooter Thanks. I am still pondering this. Water is denser than air but not the wall, which may direct the force back against the water. I have blown trees and dams from streams and a lot of water comes back. The best way is to bury the charge as deeply as possible into the obstruction.
@@hk93shooter Plus, with primaline or primacord you are essentially making a high explosive 'shaped charge' like what what is used in warheads. It doesn't exert force in the same manner as loose tannerite. This was found to make the bazooka a tank killer in WW2.
Some food for thought, next time try tamping the charge with sandbags. The sandbags will direct the blast into the silo. Leaving the charge unconfined allows all the force to be directed out and away from the target
I have shot some Tannerite a few times but never large amounts. I wonder if it has to be all compact in one single tight package OR will one package detonate another one placed beside it.
This reminds me of my dad talking about the H&R Sportsman .22LR SA top break 9 round revolver he'd bought for his young wife. "The only reason I didn't cheat on her was the way she rolled a beer can with all 9 shots." I call BS on that. He also introduced her as his first wife. He had no other. That said, the young lady can shoot if the not so young gentlemen can place the charges correctly.
Interesting to know how far were the shots? I ask because the rifle sounded and then the tannerite exploded a few milliseconds later. So it had to be a fairly long distance.
Idk how old that young lady was? But she was a very good with that rifle especially at that distance. Good job young lady.. I'd just like to know the caliber of that rifle?? The time from recoil to impact was very fast..
Great video. If I ever have a Tannerite video that I plan on putting online, maybe I can hose down the surrounding dirt to limit the dust cloud, if possible. However, sometimes the big cloud is a trophy.
Not that it matters (any rifle bullet moving at about 2000 feet per second or so on impact will do), but what caliber did she fire to do this? Judging by the degree of recoil, it looks like something more powerful than a .223 or .22-250, but probably a bit less powerful than a .270 or .30-06. I'll take a wildass guess and say it was probably a .243, but I'm probably wrong about that.
