I got my super lucky spot where alot of the local power utility trucks go flying over a huge bump & dip in the roadway & usually high quality tools literally fall off the truck ,they lose unsecured tools & sometimes toolbags full of tools 🔧, & they usually roll into the tall grass & woods ,found plenty of hammers ,screwdrivers as well as pliers ,cutters & other high quality linesman tools from Klien tools ,Crescent, Cooper industries, Whia & knipex, also find lots of traffic cones that get knocked off
Knipex pliers are very good quality. German made . I have a pair of sliding jaw pipe pliers like channel locks 10 years old and the teeth are still sharp on them. Im a mechanic and they are used everyday. I also have the side cutters like you have their and they get used every day too. They havent got sloppy like the snap on ones did and they are still sharp and are 10 yrs too. Whia are good too.
I've been here for about a year. Sailas has lots of neat old cars, trucks and tractors. I like the farm clean outs that he does now and then and he's found some cool old items.
Brilliant Truck ! Nice Microwave Meals - looks Yummy ! Hey - Birds are flogging to You - ha ! Pop the Trunk and Cool Tools - wow ! You had another Busy Beaver Day ! Many Cheers from Australia !!!!
I grew up in Wichita in the middle of 5 junk yards. The ones on s. Hydraulic by Haysville. We were pretty crazy kids but we would go through the cars pulling up the back seats looking for treasures. Your videos take me back to my childhood. I ran across your videos then realized that you are in ks. Thanks for the fun and past memories. Glad I found your page. Freaking awesome stuff brother!
The pliers with moveable jaws are multi-grips, if I recall the term correctly. You can slide the lower half of the jaw opening it up or down to use on small or large objects. Popular with plumbers because you can easily grip onto pipe fittings and twist them around to tighten or loosen them. A lot less popular now because of PVC piping, but still very handy for anyone who is working with older metal fittings.
That truck at the end love it,and you have a brilliant use for it, isn't it great that many of us can see things in the world rather than just seeing the world through a phone thing
Really pleased to know you are cleaning out the yard, Silas. While prices are good, it’s money and the junkers aren’t a blight on the land. Hopefully you’ll get more salable stuff in to replace worn out collision victims. If you don’t have to place stuff out in the wilderness area, so much the better. Great video.
The box truck at the end, my grandpa used to drive for Graves Trucking in the 70s and 80s. Delivered from Salina Kansas to Denver Colorado. Walk down memory lane.
The old Central freight trucks used to have that type of chain gate in the back on their box trucks too ! When I worked at the salvage yard we used to call that pilfering in the cars we find lots of good junkyard tools to use ! Sometimes some treasure !!
Knipex is a high quality set of tools, sold by lowes about 12 years ago. I have a set and they are good long lasting cutters, adjustable pliers, side cutters, and screwdrivers.
Great video , you scored big out of the car trunk , you can make a good emergency tool box for around the yard , take care , till next time , Stuart in Canada ..
Man Silas, starting off the video with a killer deal on that truck! Every time I watch your videos I like you even more! My knees go week when I see your special purchases of old classics! Your smart and you know history of vehicles, which makes you fun to watch! I’m 40 years old and your yard makes me feel like I’m a teenager again, thanks so much for everything!!
Knipex is really good quality. Mac tools didn’t have good cutters, so they put the Mac tools name on the knipex cutters. They are the best cutters I have ever bought
I've always thought someone should come out with a Gourmet Fast Prep Cookbook (makes aesthetically and minor additional Trimming) pleasing for C-Rats/MREs. I've always loved most of them and how such small Portion could satisfy and hold you over.
The truck at the start of the video is way too nice Silas. It's good that you made the call to find a good home for it. It has plenty of years of life left in it.
Silas, That 100K sub plaque is coming. I've known that for some time. I think your turning point to a steady increase in subs came after the house demo with the Ford Focus wrecking ball. Just keep puttin out the videos and I'll keep enjoying and liking. Take care!
That video actually got the worst sub count of any video I posted in the last year. Blows my mind. By far my favorite to make but the algorithm didn’t like it
The item in the second tool box is an oil filter remover, I have 4 of them and they work great as long as the spring is still attached. the other item that fell into the crevice and got covered up was another stile of oil filter remover.
My dad had a tool box full of Craftsman Tools in the back of his truck.. I think at the time he had a cab on his truck and someone actually got in and stole the entire thing.. which must have weighed a lot... but at that time, you could take any Craftsman tools to Sears and replace them for free.. they were old too..
Score for you !!!! lucky duck... Anybody that says you're faking this stuff is full of..........stuff, because I've worked in junkyards, car lots etc. I've found stuff you wouldn't believe !!!

The nose of that truck at the end was super cool. Way different than any other truck you have made a video of. It is stupendous!!!!!!!!
Yeah knipex are actually pretty pricey. One of the small pairs of channel locks I have were $40. Great find!

THOSE KNIPEX R GOOD STUFF .....THAT WEIRD THING IS AN OIL FILTER WRENCH I THINK
Good afternoon, Silas,
The knipex tools are german brand. 22-60mm, think its an oil filter wrench. Like your website and videos. Kudos

Another great day at the office. Glad that truck is going to Terry. Sounds like that partnership has been working well.
The old Central freight trucks used to have that type of chain gate in the back on their box trucks too ! When I worked at the salvage yard we used to call that pilfering in the cars we find lots of good junkyard tools to use ! Sometimes some treasure !!

Wiha screwdrivers are another high end German made tools. I bought Knipex pliers and Wiha screwdrivers to carry in my diesel pusher. Fantastic tools.
Those Knipex pliers are worth quite a bit and very high quality tools.
The Wiha and Knipex might be the best tools you now own, they ain't cheap and can take a MAJOR beating.
I've always thought someone should come out with a Gourmet Fast Prep Cookbook (makes aesthetically and minor additional Trimming) pleasing for C-Rats/MREs. I've always loved most of them and how such small Portion could satisfy and hold you over.

I hope those AR's were oiled after looking at that interior! Looked like a rusty invitation to me. Nice tool stash to find in the trunk.
* Hey Silas, Told ya someone would want that Sonnet ...
I wouldn’t have bought it if I didn’t think someone would want it 😆 I paid way above scrap value for that one
*Yeah I knew that Silas . I love your yard. It's the way yards used to be with a lot of old stuff. Not many like that anymore.
That pose shot gave me Elvis Presley vibes. Nice.
Wiha is exceptional quality.
