Started doing this 1 year ago. I made $12,000 profit as just a side hustle. Few lucky sales and finds but it’s worth it if you love Pokémon !
I got a very good vintage pokemon collection for my son in 1999-2000. We still have 1 seal 1st edition Team Rocket box, 2 boxes 1st edition single common and uncommon MINT cards, 1 English binder and 1 Japanese binders holos (many 1st edition) never played, just came straight out from the pack to the binders. We will decide to sell after July 4th if we met a good offer. If not, I’ll hold the collection for longer time.

I have a card shop near me where I get a discount when I bring duplicate cards in or whenever I bring them any sales or free advertisement so it’s pretty nice

What do you think of amazon or mercari as a selling platform?
Amazon is hard bc they take a HUGE fee compared to other platforms, and Mercari is more lowkey for westerners. They both can work just harder

The market is overly saturated of sellers and re-sellers. TCG haydays are now gone evident that the prices are crashing. The pandemic is a once in a lifetime event, its either a hit or a miss. If you sold your cards during the pandemic its a hit since prices are bloated by demand and surplus monies due to feds printing money non stop to stimulate the economy. But if you hotl thinking prices will still rise, its a big miss. Nowadays, inflation is high and TCGs are non essentials. Basically the feds are just collecting back the free monies theyve given away during the pandemic. To say the least, its too late to catch up of youre still atarting now.

I just started getting back into this crazy world a little over a month ago. No clue what cards were what. Who belongs to what generations or how many there were. Only thing I knew was from Pokemon Go. I really appreciate your content on all your channels. Your pokemon go account led me to your card account and somehow fell into this account. I will say. I love how fully transparent you are with all the content on this channel. Especially the one when you recorded yourself for a day! Wow what a grind of a day and power to you. Just wanted to show some love because it is a crazy hectic world and you have made pokemon relevant in my life again I am all for the Nostalgia. Thanks Brandon and keep up the good work!

was a pleasure! Definitely depends on the product and how much of it we buy. Like 2,000 packs of a set might take 1-3 weeks to burn through where a vintage box could go in a couple days.

What always confuses me not just with Pokémon cards is how ur buying low enough to make a profit with the fees. Unless yourre marking up a bit and selling a box u bought for 110 for 130 or smthn, but even then the fees and whatnot
Bulk and whatnot has shipping fees added , also just volume its kinda like if you uber you have to drive 20 hours to cover gas to start making profit afterwards
Sellers usually sell single packs depending on the market, typically $5+ per pack, so if you buy a booster box, you're buying all 36 packs in the box for $5+...

I find this video interesting and a bit premature. Your claim to fame is from Pokémon Go and you only switched to being a TCG guy 4 years ago... and at the time of filming the video you were at a TCG con as a first time vendor. I watched that video and it didn't sound like you made much profit because you mainly spent your cash earnings on buying more product and your team made a HUGE rookie mistake in pricing on day 1 that you mention in the video despite you saying you know the value of different products.
ALSO in this video you mentioned a TON of cons in using the platform you mainly use for your business which during the video I was wondering why you continue to use that method when you were saying so many negative things about it.
I don't know, I wouldn't particularly go to a Pokémon Go TH-camr for advice on how to start selling Pokémon cards and potentially starting a business out of it. You don't have much experience in the field yet despite your online sales numbers.

The bad part about shops is how below market they buy. And some don't even buy them for cash you only get store credit for them...

I got a lot of 1999-2004 cards. Something Like 300-400 except charizard, Blaines charizard First Edition, Lugia ng First Edition and normal, Shining gyarados/magikarp/steelos..snorlax jngl First ed. etc. And i have no idea what to do 😅

Great vid! What I will say is the benefit of Ebay is it does cut the time you have to invest in all the other platforms. I think it's worth if you want just constantly move product and not really have to stress on finding customers.

Well you could sell it outright to shops like mine, but we’ll take it at a lower rate than market.
eBay might be your next best bet. Just basically list all of it at market and let them sell
Only thing I ever got was a $450 Fossil Unlimited Booster Box back in 2014. It's like $9000 now

If you are selling a product and you cannot sell it regularly for 3x what you buy it for, there is no reason at all to continue selling that item.
