Good video, could do with showing exactly which way up the spring goes in and, how to do it on a concrete floor with only basic spring compressors.

you know your design is faulty if you have to remove the fricken windshield wipers to access the front suspension bolts.. leave it to the french to design something this stupid..

Worst car i've ever owned, no end of grief in the short 2yrs and 8 months i've had this poor piece of shit...
Got the 1.6 diesel, since I got it with 44,000 on the clock, the power steering pump has gone, coil springs, clutch, heat shield, exhaust and now shock on front passenger side...
Overall an ultra shite company, you'll do well to avoid any french cars...
Like you say though, poor design...
Have you seen the sham routine to replace the full beam bulbs???? Gotta take the whole fucking bumper off! Apologies for language but this car has cost me so much money, glad the halfway point in finance has been reached, will be getting shot of it very soon

Gavin Elder sorry to hear that! I’ve had my 207 since 2009 and strangely regular maintenance has been all it’s needed aside from tyres, new wipers and rear coil replacement.

What's the preload on the spring? Doesn't really seem like something I could do in my garage :/ oh well. Cool video though.

Arguably one of the worse built cars in modern time. I have one of these as a project car, and very little is straight forward. If Peugeot can find the most difficult, illogical way of building simple things such as the suspension system, they will do it. As others have said, why design the car where you need to remove the wipers to access the front suspension? Also seems stupid to have to remove the driveshaft just to get the hub out of the way, many other cars don't require such a silly process to change the shock absorber. Aside form all that, good video which was both helpful and informative!
