    I enjoyed Nick & Marissa working together. Love that the home owners put out water, & tried for food, for the trapped snakes. Hopefully, they will install an easily removable snake proof screen over the window well. That was a DEEP one!!

    I feel like team ups are great for the night time releases, just from a safety and comfort perspective. Much respect for those folks for putting water out.

    I like it from a safety POV. Two of you to take care of each other in the heat of the desert, plus one can film while the other drives.

    I like both teamups and solo vids, but I feel like the teamups are probably a good safety precaution, especially because the desert at night is hella creepy 😂

    Y’all were too funny pairing up in this one! I think this is a great way of doing this if two of you are available at the same time or if there is a difficult situation where two would be better for safety reasons. Individually is great too, so whatever works best for the day!😊I learn so much from y’all! Thank you!

    I enjoyed this team-up! (Also really enjoy Marissaa conversations with the snakes too 😅) So awesome for the homeowners to set out water for the trapped snakes, but hopefully they get a snake screen or something so no more creatures get trapped.

    The team-up concept is interesting. In the first call because it was a normal easy call for one snake, it was a little awkward with one person working the call and the other sitting around filming/waiting. However, the next team-up call it was a complex call that had both Marissa and Jeff had roles working the call and that felt super organic and fun to watch. Just my thoughts, love anything yall do!

    Singles, doubles anything rocks! totally get the less creep factor when not alone out in the desert at night. You guys are amazing!! Now I really feel bad for the pool house snakes having had a dead 3rd roommate in there. Easy to see why that was a good spot being somewhat protected and water access. That was a lightning fast Western Diamond Rattlesnake in the window well. My goodness those little coach whips were fired up! You guys rock!

    Nice team-up test. It seemed a little awkward at times (probably for you guys too) since you and us viewers aren't used to it. Maybe do it one episode per month/2 months if the footage is good? Feels like you are more comfortable being behind the camera filming when you are doing your solo runs. Never hurts to try new things (I sure tried with my stuff to stand out more - don't think it worked though, haha). Fun stuff!

    • @metalmamasue3680
      @metalmamasue3680 ปีที่แล้ว

      Coachwhips are sort of infamous for being nippy and the larger ones can bite a person anywhere 😂. They're not venomous so snake handlers laugh it off and it's no big deal. Washing the area with soap and water is usually all that's needed. Contrary to many online myths, snake bites aren't particularly prone to getting infected either.
      I've been bitten by many of our pet snakes and it's honestly a non issue. Getting stuck by thorns is more painful than being bitten by a relatively small non venomous snake, like under 5-6 feet. My kingsnake is very paranoid and has nipped me several times, it didn't even bleed. Lol. They strike very fast so that's kind of startling, more so than the nip being painful or even drawing blood.
      Water snakes have sharper teeth for grabbing slippery prey like fish. Their bites can draw some blood, but it's still not a big deal. 😄😊

  • @drevildruid
    @drevildruid ปีที่แล้ว +1

    It's interesting how they calm down after they're picked up. I would've thought it would be the opposite. Is it because of where on their body you pick them up (like how cats will go limp if you pick them up by the scruff of the neck because of the nerve in their neck that causes them to go limp)?

    • @metalmamasue3680
      @metalmamasue3680 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Usually a snake will calm down pretty fast when they realize you're not trying to hurt them, and are supporting their body so they don't fall.
      Some also like the warmth of your hands if they're cold.
      I have a very paranoid kingsnake I named Sid Vicious (because he thinks he's a bada$$ and who am I to harm his IittIe snake ego ?) 😂 Even as nippy as he is, when I pick him up, calmIy and confidently, he doesn't even try to nip because he knows I'm not going to hurt him from past times I've handled him.
      There are videos of how to handle a non venomous snake, properIy on YT if you want to Iearn more and see it visually. l Iove when peopIe are curious about snakes, knowledge is power and beats fearing snakes any day. 😊👍🏼

      They're pretty common in Southern Cali, the western part of Arizona, the southern border of Nevada and in Baja California.

    Any time you guys go to Ahwatukee, I'm curious to see if you'll end up in the crazy rich part of it with the giant silly mansions on the hill, or the poorer strip malls 'n' apartments area where I used to live. Invariably, it seems that much of your clientele are the more affluent folks with all the watered plants and leaky pool equipment in their yards who live next to open desert. Go figure. ;P

I don’t know how you’re paid but this also looks like a waste of money as 2 people are not necessary to grab a snake or two. With all that said, I totally understand about being out in the desert at night by yourself. Teaming up is much better. Question, do you guys carry a gun for protection?

    Are rattlesnakes endangered ? Why risk death or serious injury trying to catch them? I have pets and children on my property and if I find one I’m going to eliminate it but I admire your decency

    • @metalmamasue3680
      @metalmamasue3680 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      They are trained professionals, who are very unlikely to be bitten because they are trained to use snake hooks and rubber coated tongs to catch them, that put the snakes out of strike range, because they grab them gently but firmly at a part of their body that doesn't aIIow the snake's strike range to reach their arm/hands.
      Some rattlesnakes are also endangered or threatened including Ridge nose rattlesnakes and twin spotted rattlesnakes. Others have declining populations in some areas but haven't been put on the endangered list yet.
      And they save them yes, because they love them, but also because no animal shouId be kiIIed simply for the crime of being born and breathing the same air as we do.
      Snakes are also nature's pest control. They feed on rodents who carry disease ridden ticks and fleas, thereby decreasing humans risk of contracting some of the deadly diseases carried by ticks and fleas.
      Hantavirus is one of the very scary diseases that can be contracted by wild rodents as well as the plague, which there are a few cases every year in the mid & southwest. There are many others but those are 2 of the worst diseases.
      Also, humans risk being bitten by the very act of trying to kiII a venomous snake, so it's best Ieft to professionals to deal with.
      There are cases every year of peopIe being bitten by trying to kiII snakes.
      I hope that helps.
      There's lots of educational material about venomous snakes available and even Facebook groups that help educate people about coexisting with wild snakes. We coexist with bears, snakes, Mt Lions in some areas and other potentially dangerous animals. Snakes deserve a chance like any other animal, they're very misunderstood and demonized by many. No animal controls rodent populations as well as snakes do. Not owls, raptors or cats.
      Snakes are the top rodent predators.
      People who keep snakes, Iove them every bit as much as others love their pets. They are fascinating and curious animals who have distinct personalities, I quite enjoy my 2.
