o respray model cars , once paintwork has been stripped off ,model needs tone rubbed down with wet and dry sand paper best to have all paints ready to go because you will be sparaying consecutively so that the paint bonds with each other Modifying and tuning 1:18 scale diecast models from autoart to minicamps ,kyosho to Hotwheels .modification from resprays to fitting real aluminium rims with low profile tyres .

How did you paint this model? (Spray can, airbrush) Also what is the paint color and brand you used? I have been looking for that color of paint but I can’t find that color for my 1:18 Pagani huayra
Hi yeah started out using spray cans u can get some good results only real draw back is control of how much paint comes out, so mainly use airbrush, have the paints made from automotive paint shop , all I can remember at the moment on the colour it’s a Toyota turquoise colour will search paint code as soon as I can get back to studio 👍🏻👍🏻

hiiii Just curious, is it OK if we use motorcycle spray paint (e.g. Anchor brand) on diecast instead of hobby brand like Tamiya?
Hi , yeah you can use this type of paint finish. Spray can are just difficult to control the amount of paint that comes out the can , I tend to use model paints on plastic parts etc .also paint finish will be dependent on primer as well so spray 10min apart so gloss paint bonds with primer 👍🏻👍🏻💯

Do you do custom repaints for people on model cars? I would never feel confident enough to do it myself but am looking for two model cars that just dont come in the colours I'm after 🤔

Just started a similar project on my XK8 model. Never done this before. I have removed all the paint and now to prime it. Any tips? Also, need to change the interior plastic colour. I was thinking of getting some Revell paint pots and hand painting seats, floor, door cards, etc. Again, any suggestions?
Hi yeah, I’d say don’t let the primer dry hard get the gloss coat on when primer is tacky, paint or spray interior in matt finish revell paints should be fine 👍🏻👍🏻💯💯
Great, thanks for the advice. I was going to paint it with primer first, then leave it until the weather gets warmer before applying the base coat. Now will do what you say and get all primer, base coat and lacquer together so that I can do the job in one go. Still will leave it until the weather gets warmer. Do you think that painting the interior parts with a brush will leave brush strokes? If so, looks like I may have to invest in an air brush!
@@dougwarren2992 yeah spay paint will give a much more even spread of the paint so always does look better than brush strokes you can use canned spray but obviously at a further distance so as not to spray too much paint on the parts if you don’t have an air brush 👍🏻

CS. Due casting tuning. Hi can I ask do you respray vehicles for customers. I am asking as I have a mk1 transit panel van that I stripped down to just the shell, I am modifying so it’s having wider arches, resin wide wheels. If you are in the uk 🇬🇧 abs you do do this work how do I get intouch

@@CSdiecasttuning I can see you have colour coded the wheels . How did you manage to get the matching colour on the inside without touching the outer chrome. My wide arches are 3D printed along with the wheels to match, so both items are coming just in a grey like primer so will need to be painted and I am wondering how it’s done
@@MrTheomighty1 hi these rims came in two pieces the aluminium rim it’s self , the resin wheel these where Ford RS style which I sprayed before putting it together, if a one piece rims all you can do is mask the outer rims and spray the insets first and the outer rims last 👍🏻

Great video. Could you just soak the model in a bucket of paint stripper rather than having to sand it down?
You can but sanding down will prep. The metal for painting there could be residue from the paint stripper if you don’t which may effect the repaint 👍🏻👍🏻
His which colour primer for this colour please?
My parents want me to put together a Model A die cast kit. Ive never done models. Cant seem to find info online of how to go about it. My parents have a real Model A they cruise around in. How do i fuse the metal pieces together? Glue? Do i paint it first b4 gluing? The die cast has metal bits left on it
Hi. There are so many die cast model pages full of information. You would need to glue the model using the appropriate glue for the metal before painting. Keep searching on TH-cam for videos on modifying or restoration for 1:18 or whatever scale you need. There are Facebook groups that have plenty of resources to help you. Good luck and let us know how you get on.
I used non acetone nail polish to get rid of white paint on roof but ended up getting on one of the windows. How do I get rid the non acetone stain on the window?

Hi you can get water slide decals of eBay or you can buy the paper and make your own ones 👍🏻

Oscar Torrico yeah any but I would use automotive primer just because it’s made to bond to metal and plastics , the finish will only be as good as your preparation 👍🏻💯

Chip in driver fender, orange peel in paint, Very bad filling door handles. Bad Job!!!!!!! Needs to Strip Car and restart.
Thanks for your comments but it’s a hotrod no windscreen etc these cars have damaged on them they are not show car’s so it really didn’t matter if it’s not perfect 👍🏻

How do you remove and attach aftermarket wheels on this model? I am currently working on the same model and I can’t fathom how you get the wheels off.
Instead of hamming it up so much why not actually show us the painting?
