Looks like a great refuge. You found quite a variety of wildlife. I'm a bit jealous of the Pileated as it's on my bucket list but I have yet to see one.
Our refuges have a lot of areas closed during the winter, so we're often just stuck with whatever will come close to the main viewing areas. There are some trails open, but I definitely don't see quite the variety.

Yes it really is a nice area with great diversity. The pileated woodpeckers are really neat birds to watch and their call echos through the forest like a kind of dinosaur. We are fortunate to have a good amount of them in my area as there are a lot of older intact forests which they prefer. Thank you for watching!

Very nice! Winter wildlife photography is such a good activity during the dark cold winter. Love the quietness

Good video, Todd. I enjoyed it. Some days are more successful than others for what you want to photograph, but they are all a success if you're out there.

Thank you for the comment and for watching I really appreciate it! That is definitely the case! You won't end up finding anything if your not out there!

Good honest video of what it's like trying to find wildlife. I hand hold sigma 150-600 in the woods more manoverable using trees and stuff for stable shooting . Nice to be out in the snow.👍

Thank you for watching! The 600mm I carry can definitely get cumbersome sometimes while out in the woods. I would much rather not have to use a tripod but usually need to when shooting video! Thanks again!

Hi David, thanks I will try that I actually just got one for Christmas so we will see how that works! Thanks for watching!

Deer frequently stomp a front foot to alert other deer, or attempt to lure any intruder into exposing itself. Whenever an alarmed doe stomps her forefoot, this also lays invisible spots of interdigital scent. The whitetail's body is designed for survival,

Thank you for the information! I had known about the stomping but did not think of the scent that would leave behind as they stomp. It is amazing all the adaptations animals have that we cannot see!
