@@Angus_____ I saw Richard in a car park a few years ago, he was a great guy and stopped for a chat. he wasn't filming anything TV related and seemed genuinely chill
He's actually a massive dick head, my dad went to a top gear filming and him and Clarkson went off for a fag and ignored everyone the entire time. James May however was a class act, he chatted with the audience, kept people entertained. The only of the trio I really respect after that. Maybe he's changed now, who knows but always seems like he's putting on an act.
Man, Hammond unexpectedly dropping eloquent lines of wisdom had me rewinding several times. He not only feels the way many of us do, but he's taken the time to reflect on the underlying source of those feelings.
Richard is the GOAT, isn't he? The sheer enthusiasm he's got for cars, is truly, truly unmatched. This man has access to most expensive cars in the world, yet he enjoys your little MX-5 like a schoolgirl enjoys a cheeky little gossip in the corner of the school hallway. So pure.
Richard's quote gave me chills. He's so spot on: "You've got to love cars, it's not going away because it connects us at a human level, we love these things for a reason. It's more than avarice, it's more than materialism. These things move us physically, they love us emotionally, they take us beyond the confines of our cave which provides shelter. Everything else we need in life we need to get to, and a car is the machine we, as humankind, made to do that. If it conveys you to a mate, food, resources, everything you need, you've got to love it." - Richard Hammond
Can't believe how far and how quickly this channel is progressing. I kind of expected more of the Car Throttle vibes, but it's become so much more. It's brilliant to watch.
@@Angus_____ Yeah, really. I don't see those doing mega nurburgring challenges and keeping company with the Top Gear ogs. The amount of followers is one thing, the quality of content is another, and with all respect to Car Throttle, this is on another level. Anyway, no need to let my opinion ruin your no doubt fun and happy nature for a moment there.
Alex and his friends have continued what Richard and the Top Gear crew started. The last cheap car challenge had the same entertainment level as the OG top gear. Amazing to see these two together.
One of the best videos on cars I have seen. Richard found the exact words that we all feel towards our own cars and why we connect with them so much as petrolheads. Brilliant.
I love that Richard and James hav essentially become wholesome car youtubers. And I love even more that they collaborate with others and remain active in the scene
Awesome idea to have Hammond involved, great exposure to the bigger car family of the fans of grand tour/top gear. Could Alex be the modern version of Clarkson ??... Awesome work Alex, and everyone else of course..

Alex, getting out of CT and starting on your own was the best decision you did! Content like this would have never been done withou you taking it to your own hands. Love the style of your videos and watch them with passion. Keep it up Alex.
I love that Hammond puts the ST at the top of his list for a cheap car! It was actually the review on Top Gear and his and Clarkson's comments that encouraged me to consider taking one for a test drive, and that was how I ended up with Stella that had never failed to make me smile, STs really are the best
Dear Alex! Just wanted to point out that this video is very emotional for as I was raised by my father showing me Top Gear and getting into car and then choosing to follow Phil’s build series on YouYube as a teenager based on what I grew up on and now watching Richard Hammond having a blast in Phil was such a closure for me now at 24 and I’m sure to many more! I’m proud of you Alex thank you so much man this really means a lot ❤💪
I'm so happy he mentioned the Fiesta ST. I have an ST150, and i love it. It's just fun. only 148bhp, but it's nippy and has great handling. And if you poodle it at 55, you can get 45+ MPG on a run. It may be my name, but i absolutely love the platform.
My favorite thing about Phil: "... poly bushes, I think mostly up front, I got bored and I didn't do the rest" Alex isn't even a little bit afraid to admit to all the stuff that isn't quite done right. Refreshing to have in the car community.
What I love about Hammond is he really seems like a guy you can crack one open with in the garage and talk about cars. Truly why he’s one of my idols and my favorite of the top gear 3. Seems like such a nice guy
Good to see how down to earth both of you are. Realizing 20k is a lot (even if that is a penny for you 😅), the laugh after saying "copy the idea", etecetera... I can't imagine what is the feeling to have a drive with a childhood hero!

Look at his face after you did that cheeky donut, brilliant. Your channel really is one of my favourite car related forms of entertainment. You’re really doing great things and your hard work is paying off.

Brilliant this is 😁 your smashing it and this makes you realise Hammond is a genuinely lovely down to earth bloke! National treasure in the car community ❤️
Richard was made to be a presenter really... I loved that little monologue he had about cars. He clearly loves them. But also, it's fun that he just goes on and on about cars and talks from his heart really, while not even realizing that he is talking like presenting on car show.
Wow, Alex, what an achievement this video is. I've been following you for about 10 years and you deserve all of this success. Its mind blowing to think where you might be in 10 years time
Absolute top drawer episode! The channel just goes from strength to strength. Great team with Rory and Taylor, great additions with Tom and Rich amongst guests like Tavarish and now the legend Hammond. Absolutely love the fact he is excited about Phil, can see how much that means to you and all the hard work you have put in, not just to Phil but the channel! Absolutely made my night.

This just goes to prove how petrolheads are, you might as well turn up in a Yugo infront of the Jay Leno Garage and he’d come out and talk to you. Hammond is an awesome bloke, Top Gear shaped my teenage years too and expanded my love for cars even further. Well done Alex, i’ve been a subscriber since you’ve started the channel and let me say that you’re one of the top automotive entertainers out there. This was sooo brilliant! Put a massive smile on my face! Videos like this make me love Richard even more as a person. He speaks to and for car enthusiasts in the exact way needed. I only wish this film had one more thing that I think was sorely missing - Hammond's Impreza STi. I would so love to see Phil and Martin in a proper, road trip-style video together. Alex, I hope you're reading this!
Richard and the rest of the original Top Gear gang were one of the reasons I got so into cars. So amazing to see that they are the same all these years later.
Richard touches on something i have been thinking for a while. There is some great content creators on TH-cam making some some really cool stuff, but much of it feels out of reach. I can't relate to a guy with a Lambo or high-end sports car. Alex and his team make things feel achievable, like i could go out and reacreate what happens in the videos. I feel part of the group. This episode is incredible to watch! You alex as being my favourite to watch on youtube and then Richard being one of the greatest to watch of all time! Very much enjoyed this! A great due.
Alex's question to Hammond about a 5k car, I looked for something matching those requirements at the start of this year and put my dosh on a ford street ka. Some of the engineering for the time was great for a low budget one off with limited production numbers and it was all bolted together by Pininfarina in Italy.
I remember meeting you Alex when you were on the dark side at the grand tour season three prerelease in London and like back then we spoke and I remember you saying one day I will do something with Richard and here you are… I never been happier following someone’s journey like yours! This episode is incredible to watch! You alex as being my favourite to watch on youtube and then Richard being one of the greatest to watch of all time! Very much enjoyed this! A great due.
Loving this combo, could listen to you two talk about cars for hours ❤
This is, by far, the best episode you've done. Pure. Loved it.
The look you gave Richard whilst he was waxing lyrical about why we love cars was priceless 😁😁
Alex? Aight good
Hammond?? Oh okay! 😮
Phil?!?! No Way! 🥰
MILES?!?!?!?!?!? 🤯🤯🤯🤯
Good to see Miles is still alive 😃
Alex's question to Hammond about a 5k car, I looked for something matching those requirements at the start of this year and put my dosh on a ford street ka. Some of the engineering for the time was great for a low budget one off with limited production numbers and it was all bolted together by Pininfarina in Italy.
Incredible video, love how down to earth celebrities can be, and Richard Hammond
I remember meeting you Alex when you were on the dark side at the grand tour season three prerelease in London and like back then we spoke and I remember you saying one day I will do something with Richard and here you are… I never been happier following someone’s journey like yours! Genuine joy you bring and the lads to us all! P.S thank you for bringing back the podcasts! Only podcast I can listen too!
