Amazing how Maxine Croxall had changed over the years, still presenting on the BBC in 2020, this footage was handy as an archive of past events in this chaotic world of ours.

Early 2000’s for BBC World and the domestic news channel seem to be the best era - having had around 10 years to polish world and 3/4/5 to polish the donestic channel. I really miss the BBC World news channel of the early 2000’s.

Don't have any insight as to why you may have taped it, but it's strange and almost macabre to see how boring and ordinary the news was just a few weeks before 9-11.

I'm researching what was happening globally before 9/11. Its also been interesting to see... not only what was before 9/11 in the global news.... but also how the internet has changed the production and distribution of the news from then to now.

There are tapes of news broadcasts nightly news, world news on TH-cam going back to the 1960s
I've been watching them in chronological order as best as possible

Its fascinating to see the news before mass social media
Also fascinating to see the news in 2001 right before the terrorist attacks in September before the whole war on terrorism.

The only thing that Wikipedia brings up is this: " At the conclusion of a fireworks display on Okura Beach in Akashi, Hyōgo, Japan, 11 people are killed and more than 120 are injured when a pedestrian footbridge connecting the beach to JR Asagiri Station becomes overcrowded and people leaving the event fall down in a domino effect"

It’s quick striking, this was shape of things to come by 2021.
