Isn’t this the one that kept cutting the voice message off a few years back? That’s probably my favorite example of any tech fail anywhere. Good to know it’s working as intended now.
Whelens are easy to mistake for quiet because of their umbrella effect. Rotational ones only have 4 cells, but this was still extremely loud to me. I have heard Rosemont's 2720 from my house 5 miles away, if that doesn't say enough right there. Whelens are very good sirens if you ask me.

[STM1] I agree. Whelen is one of the best rotational electronic siren. I wish they didn’t get bullied for not having collector rings. Other than that, if they are taken care of, then they will last you for a VERY long time.
@@CazicTheProtogen The dispatch center was being wild with the tones. If you listen in the background you'll hear the others doing the same thing. I can't think of anything that would explain it other than crazy dispatchers that don't know what they're doing.
SirenDude1003 It was the dispatch center, it was the encoder. The dispatch center only hits the “test” key on the encoder, and the rest of the test is preset. That day, the encoder was having issues. We were having issues for a while with our system, but JS came out and fixed it all up. This particular siren was having issues earlier this year, as the voltage regulator was having issues.

I'm not sure. From what I've heard the one at the water tower seems to have issues occasionally, I haven't heard about issues with this one though.
