    Wow this video seriously made me re evaluate the life that i am living... literally the old worn out saying of you can do anything that you put your mind to is absolutely real. there are multi billion dollar companies making a killing off of this stuff right now... all created from a act of god... the make up of all of these ideas comes straight from the earth.. medals... and energy... Positive and negative electrons creating motion.... absolutely amazing...
    My lil man is only two right now, i cannot wait to teach him all of these things...

    • @malinhiles

      +lana lang Brushed motors don't need to be water proofed. inside is just magnets and an insulated coil of water.

    • @crayder1100
      @crayder1100 9 ปีที่แล้ว +7

      Water conducts, so it depends on the type of coil too. Pure copper = no go. Get some electronic waterproofing shit (don't recall the name of the kind I usually use, but it's awesome and works for these motors), and put it all over.

    I would separate motor from pump. With a piece of plastic pipe, for example. So, you could keep it outside the water. Mechanical transmission from motor to pump can be made with a narrow pen tank. I did it, in fact. It works! I've also made rubber seals for the pump case.

    Also we'll need to seal off the exposed ends for the terminals to avoid corrosion

    hello there mr.navin,i wanna know if the water has a tendency to go inside the front shaft bearing of of that brush motor?cause making pump is easy but the efficiency of it for lack of material will bring power lost to its performance.

    by submerging the motor in to water is the best idea as the motor might not overheat for long time...

    Brushed dc motors work perfectly when submerged in water. A small amount of electrolysis can occur if the water has any kind of salt in it, but it will not be enough for a short circuit. Your motors connections will get crusted over time, that's all.

    • @63ch31
      @63ch31 9 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      +ted clubber lang yes on motor outer casing,but what Erkut is saying is that he did not make it waterproof...water can and will get inside over time but only damage will be on connections/brushes.
      i try it on my boat when i was a kid(stereo players DC motor),works fine few days than start to struggle a lot and than stops dead,iron core start to rust cause water is getting in around shaft.good for emergency,but not a long term solution.

    Update:
    Just take another tube and attach it to other side of motor. now first tube will suck water from source and second will exhaust it! and that will also prevent your motor get wet. Pretty simple . i dont know why some user comment/complaint about it. its just a fun project for kids.

    • @cameronnichols9905

    Hi, nice video, im gonna try it.
    Therefore, i already read that if the motor has any holes, i should use glue on them, but what about the surface itself?
    Wont the motor get oxided overtime by the water? and therefore, stop working after time?

    Putting a motor in the water like that will cause the iron core in the rotor and the magnets and possibly the case as well to rust quickly, seen this with other small pumps i ve had where water leaked inside the motor and after a while it seized.
