- We got our first hands-on with Tintin Reporter - Cigars of the Pharaoh, and found a charming all-ages puzzle adventure game that looks like it's remaining remarkably faithful to the classic comic that inspired it. Previewed on PC by Travis Northup.

Man the last Tin Tin movie definitely deserves a sequel.

Blame WB for the lack of a sequel, they dragged Peter Jackson back to do The Hobbit at the very last second and it destroyed his passion for filmmaking

This looks like such an incredible adaptation! The faithfulness to the comics and animation is awesome. Seems like there’s a lot of inspiration from the movie in terms of how it moved and sounds too. Can’t wait!! Maybe if this is successful we can get more adventures in this engine?

I'd like to see a point and click, 2D and an illustration style that mimics Herge's drawings, kinda like a French cartoon version of Pentiment. If you wanted to stay in the action-adventure genre though, something 3D like what Sable did with Moebius' illustration style would be cool too. Still glad Tintin is getting some love, though.

This looks neat! I’m way too old to like the number of QTEs on display but tintin is a timeless classic and I’m excited to see how they adapt one of his oldest stories into a modern video game

Tintin adventures 2d animation is one of my childhood's favourite tv series and the movie is great too. Its so awesome new Tintin game is coming. 🕵🏻♂️🐕
The tv series really has great instruments theme with the heavy bass and violin sequence

After the retirement of Nathan Drake, Sony should consider making some Tintin games like Uncharted series. It'd be so cool if these games get some love and care from the developers like Naughtydogs.

The two platform games of Infogrames on the SNES are actually pretty decent (but were never published in the US).
I'm also a bit surprised that Tintin is depicted as a teenager here, certainly not the twenty-somehting he is in the comics.

It is not. It's a buggy mess. Most people can't actually continue after landing at Port Said as the game hard crashes.

Indeed, this looks incredibly stale to be honest. OR......use the original cartoony graphics, it would suit Tin Tin much better.
Would love to see a horror-esque sequence where you are chased by mad/poisoned Dr Sarcophagus when you crash in the Indian jungle
With all the beautiful and memorable locations Tintin explored in the comics such as Flight 714 island, Picaros, Forest in Broken ear. They chose the most mundane, generic and easiest locations ever put to a Tintin comic to develop a game. Plus they should've leave the iconic bead eyes for Tintin characters.
An uncharted style game would suit tintin really well, globe trotting adventure with mystery around every corner. This seems more for kids though which is cool
Think about it, a comic released originally in 1932-1934 is getting a faithful video game adaptation in 2023. It has been 90 years.

Happy to see thevye modeled Tintin age appropriate (guessing 17-18?) but they should've kept his voice similar to Colin O'Meara from the animated show.

Can never get used to the english name for Milou and very jarring when watching (or playing) English versions of any Tintin adventure.
Omgggg I’m so hype for this game but my goodness Ik just by looking at this QTEs I’m gonna have a hard time keeping up, but it seems like it adds to the “keep on your toes” incentive

It’s absolutely horrible. I’ve been playing it for a few days now & it’s a broken mess. The take constantly crashes, has endless bugs, glitched achievements & so much more.

Duh, TinTin is actually meant for young audiences. Turning this into an over the top action game like uncharted or tomb raider will be completely out of place.

Ubisoft did a great movie adaption video game. Sad there never came a remaster for it.
So hyped for this. It could be made to be as intense as Uncharted. That would Suit TinTins character. This could be an adult friendly game. An intense story would be great.

I'm super excited for it, adventure/point and click is my favorite genre. But is it worth that price? 40 bucks is pretty steep for an adventure game.
Just watched someone stream it. The controls are janky, there's no controller support (odd, because the above video clearly has it) and it crashes frequently. Checkpoints/auto saves are far too far apart.
Is it story heavy / is the story attractive for older audiences, like Pendulo's Alfred Hitchcock: Vertigo? Or is it more gameplay focused wjth ligtle emphasis on the story (like the agatha christie) series? Thank youu!
