Lin already spoke about this issue in a podcast(don't remember which one). Kobe was coming off his devastating injury the previous season but he couldn't play like how he used to despite thinking he still can. Lin was working with Kobe on how to improve the team but Kobe was stubborn and wanted to just do everything himself despite playing terrible. Eventually it just got to the point where they never spoke to each other again up until Kobe announced his retirement and finally let everything go and actually gave Lin his respect.

Kobe was a 40 year old guy or near 40 and still thought he could hoop like he was 22. We all know he was one of the greatest, but his last few years didn't have the same type of class and dignity that MJ had. Kobe was way too mean to Jeremy Lin and them other younger dudes.

@@lancel.7737 Yes when Jermey broke out, he was better than Kobe. For a couple years a lot better than Kobe. Actually when Lin (on fire, like his 2nd? start) went to Lakers home and destroyed Kobe, I don’t think Kobe forgave Jermey for that, since he embarrassed Kobe in that game. Of course that’s my opinion. Look how Kobe was acting when Jeremy got to the Lakers. But maybe Kobe meant well. This video shows they had disagreements in how to play. But Lin’s style seemed like eventually teams were not going to let him get to the rim with out physicality. I think Kobe is the only player Lin had arguments with.
