Listening to some Gang Starr in the forest before the end of a day. Wouldn't have it any different myself. Great series. I have some catching up to do. these are great and inspiring
lol that guy on the bike.. "i went and got a fifth of Jack Daniels, a big big bottle of coke and a bag of lays potato chips and I'm going up this fuckin' mountain !" that had me cracking up watching that!
Part of my family is from up on the UP: Marquette, Ishpeming, and Negaunee. The iron ore mines are around Ishpeming or Negaunee. My great grandfather came from Finland to work at the Tilden mine when it was tunnels and shafts. Now, it's a huge pit with a concentric road around it. Massive vehicles go up and down carrying ore. Pasties: love 'em. They were brought over by the English, but everyone eats them. Kinda of like a stew in a pastry shell. Get feeds on FB from the Iron Ore Heritage Trail, but haven't been up on the UP since the late "60's. Safe travels!
