46 years old with dry skin - I've been using this line for the last couple of years and I'm actually amazed at the change it's made to my skin. I absolutely LOVE my Holy Hydration products. The balm cleanser is amazing! It cleans really well and doesn't leave my skin feeling dry and tight. The undereye moisturizer and the facial moisturizer are both products that you'd have to pry out of my cold dead hands to take away from me lol. Also been loving their facial oils. This whole line is just 😘 chef's kiss!
Just want you to know, I think ALL kitties love you because my boy Muffin watches you with me every time haha! He watches the screen like 😍 We both adore you! Thx for this review!
As a fellow person with dry skin, I love the Holy Hydration line. I didn't realize that they made a cleansing balm, so I'm going to have to check that out! I also recently found Aveeno's new 'Calm+Restore' Oat products and they're awesome too! It's great for my very dry and sensitive skin.
I have a few of the ELF Holy Hydration products, but I grew up on a lake, as a child, always in the sun…not so great for my skin. You have beautifully, even skin!
Gurllllll. I bought this entire line and I just want to say Thank you! I tested out the cleanser, serum, eye cream and moisture mask last night. I actually woke up and my skin felt great. Im battling dry michigan winter and menopause. This morning I did lancome genifique serum,( because my Elf vitamin c came today and I stuck it right in the fridge for tomorrow morning), eye cream, elf holy hydration sunscreen and let me tell you i do not have a sunscreen in my roation because dries me out more, burns my eyes, breaks me out, itches etc.... This was Awesome. My skin felt great. Tonight I did the cleanser, ordinary buffet on my face minus forehead, i used the ordinary argeline on my forehead for my wrinkles and moisture cream and ete cream. My face has never felt better this winter. I'm praying this works and we can't beat the price.
Several of these have made it into my permanent rotation - it's a really solid line. I haven't tried any Holy Hydration product so far that I didn't like. The overnight mask is one of my favorites. I use it now on the nights I do my tretinoin because it's a super-boost of moisture (and counter-acts some of the drying from the tretinoin on me).
Thank you. I'm falling in love with ELF's Holy Hydration line. I already find it to be the best toner (and I've tried some super expensive ones and i like ELF best). You have the most beautiful hands.
Yay this is exactly the review I was hoping for from you, I was so curious to hear what you think of the line! The cleansing balm and the under eye cream are the most intriguing to me, definitely will need to pick them up now. Especially because no matter what my concealer creases (shockingly even the Charlotte Tilbury that I got since it’s your fave!) and I read that it’s because my under eyes are too dry and they are “sucking the moisture” out of whatever product I put under my eyes. So I’m thinking the eye cream might help with my textured under eye and creasing! Thanks for the review!
I’m so happy that I found you!! Thanks for all your help… My skin is very dry and sensitive and I need your videos to follow a right skin care routine!!! Thanks
Love the cleansing balm. It really does remove all of my makeup and sunscreen and it doesn’t irritate my eyes. I usually stay away from fragrance but this one doesn’t bother my skin. It’s actually improved my acne since it’s hydrating. Also your cat reminds me of my toddler. 😂
Thanks for a great review and skincare routine. I just started using some of the holy hydration skincare products that were gifted to me by my MIL and in wholly impressed. I have to admit with this price point I wasn't expecting much, but WOW! from a fellow sensitive dryer than dry skin girl!!
May have to try the eye cream: I've not found one that truly hydrates the skin around my eyeballs. Still loving the I'm from Rice line: toner, serum and cream. I do like the format including product application, Shelly. As it's said, "the proof is in the pudding" and your skin has exhibited a glowy sheen as of lately. 💜💜💜
Randomly came across your video while searching for a good ELF Skincare routine and this was awesome! Super informative and great energy! Thanks for making this…Also love your cat 😊
@@goow Awesome! I ended up getting these (minus the toner) the next day and so far so good! I also just bought the Paula’s Choice 2% BHA liquid Exfoliant to add into the mix but haven’t tried it yet. Have you ever used it? I’m hoping it fits in well with this routine and helps even out my skin texture🤞🏼
Wow Shelley SOoooo sold omg 😁!! I’m going to cold dry country for a couple weeks (via plane ✈️) & was agonizing over what skincare to bring, so many containers blah blah blah. Elf has a minis kit & I will just pick that up, throw in my tret & C & I’m done yay!!! Thanks a million, happy Fall & sending love ❤️ to you & Zebra 🍂🍁💕💗!!!!
Hi Shelley I have super dry skin, prone to both rosacea and eczema. It's also ultra sensitive. I did try the fragrance free version of the standard holy hydration moisturiser and liked it well enough, as a day cream under an spf. Unfortunately I can't tolerate fragrance in any leave on product and barely even in a cleanser. This has put me off trying most of the rest of the range. As a FF alternative to the balm (at a similar price point), the Inkey List oat cleansing balm is pretty much a staple in my routine. I also like a couple of K beauty cleansing oils for my ultra sensitive skin - the purito from green cleansing oil and the Klairs gentle black fresh cleansing oil (in the clear bottle - the black bottle has fragrance). Both of these, whilst fairly affordable do cost more than the Elf or Inkey List. I can use all three to take my eye makeup off without any irritation. For moisturiser at the moment I'm using the Altruist face cream during the day and the body cream at night - I'm super dry though. The face cream is also very hydrating and has many similar ingredients to the holy hydration, but much more affordable than the Elf here in the UK. I don't need my moisturiser to have actives or do anything fancy - that's what serums/active preparations are for. I need it to be occlusive enough to seal in the rest of my products, sit well under spf and just provide moisture - this does that. I can use most of my moisturisers around my eyes with no issue, but my eyes are also super dry. I do use an eye cream most of the time though - slightly different ingredients and a different texture. I like using it and don't mind buying a fairly affordable eye cream for my routine - usually from a K beauty line tbh. I'm glad this line is working so well for you Shelley and hope in time they release more FF versions of the other products. Best wishes.
I use the cleansing balm, but it does burn my eyes a bit. If you want a really hydrating moisturizer, you should try the elf Happy Hydration...it's a little creamier and really really hydrating. Part of their CBD/hemp ingredient line.
The holy hydration line has been my go to hydrating eye cream and the holyhydrating face cream. Talk about plumping you up, this does it! Smooth as a baby bootie. I love this abs it hasn’t had any bad interactions with other products.
Great video Shelly! So helpful! I will definitely try that line!! My skin is so dry I hope this will help!! Sounds promising 😻 and Ziva is so precious 😻😻 she’s adorable!!
The essence/ toner method you speak of is a Korean Method called the 7 Layer method. They also are the ones who came up with the Double Cleanse, where you use an oil based cleanser first & then a water based cleanser after. I learned all this from the Peach & Lily videos.
Yesssss!!!! I’ve been using the fragrance free cream at night and love the eye cream. I want to try the SPF version for daytime next. I’m on my THIRD tub of the regular cream and love it!!!!
Ziva is lovely. A good friend of mine has a Ziva, but she is a Belgian Malinois, the velociraptor of dogs, LOL. One reason I appreciate your channel, Shelly, is that you review very affordable products in with the higher end ones (I only purchase the drugstore-priced ones and, even among those, the lower end of that such as E.L.F.). I like that you are not 25 years old reviewing products for mature skin (haha), or my age, which is 65, but has had cosmetic procedures so that I cannot judge how a product *really* works or might work on my own "unadulterated" skin. Not that there is anything wrong with having those, but it isn't something I have done and it doesn't make sense to expect the same of my skin comparatively. I do not have dry skin, but I also do not want products that tend to dry it out at my age. I really appreciate the no nonsense approach from a very real person. ~Cynthia
I love the Elf Holy Hydration Face cream (unscented) and eye cream, and have been using them for years (the eye cream used to be the Illuminating eye cream.) I suffer from dehydrated skin at 59, so this is my peptide moisturizer, but I mix it with The Ordinary's Natural Moisturizing Factors (for NMF and urea) and the Cerave Baby Lotion (fo ceramides and it's perfect for sensitive skin!) At 59 my skin is so plump and my fine lines are gone. Now the other life changing anti-aging serums I use are The Ordinary's Amino Acids, .5% Retinol, and the Hylamide SubQ Skin (in the am.) Peptides need to be applied to PH balanced skin, so I use the amino acids as a buffer. *Now I have discovered the Believe Beauty Hydrating Gel Moisturizer- which is full of peptides, including copper peptides for $5😱😱😱 Now it has a very strong fragrance, but this has not affected my sensitive skin, and I've been using it for over a month. It just may replace my Elf HH cream!!
@@R.P.MillerYES!! But, I have only tried the hydrating gel cream. What products have you used? My skin can be sensitive, so I've been concerned about using too many products with a strong fragrance. Thanks so much!❤️
Thank you Shelly. I’ve started using the bounce back jelly cleanser and I really like it. I have super sensitive skin and skin barrier irritation so. I use filtered water to wash my face. It’s getting better. I think I may try some of these.
I just noticed I was low on cleansing balm that I usually get from YesStyle. I panicked because I can’t wait a month for it to come. Love that this is a great one! You have saved me!
I really appreciate your honesty about products and all the info you share. Just subscribed. I, too have really dry skin and I appreciate the info you provide on products that actually work! Thank you!
That's awesome!!🤗 I'm definitely going to buy the new line of ELF holy hydration... Ilike you am dry and over 50. So I definitely can use every one of these products!! Thx Shelley🥰👍👍
Shelly, I just love your channel, you are so knowledgeable and, well, you're one of us, like a friend! About 2 years ago Costco began selling DHC cleansing oil for a ridiculously low price, so I stocked up mightily and still use it almost nightly as a double cleanse, followed usually by Cetaphil, and then my essences and am and pm routines. Fast forward to the present, and my love of switching around (my products stash is proof, all stored correctly in a cool, dark place, many in the fridge). Discovered the ELF unscented Holy Hydration moisturizer and love it, alternating it with some of my other daily moisturizers and always, always 50spf (daily L ascorbic acid in the a.m., Timeless has been my jam, but I have used ethylated C serums by Perricone (thanks again, Costco) and the Ordinary. They're good too. Then tried the ELF HH cleansing balm and love and alternate that with the DHC cleansing oil (gotta use my stash up, I have so much, but it is a great oil cleanser that I'd never pay full price for). I am really interested in a couple products you used, specifically the ELF HH cleanser (in lieu of my Cetaphil cleanser as a 2nd cleanse) and the ELF Sleeping Mask. My evening routine is cleanse, alternate nights with actives either tretinoin, or copper peptides (never together), and then usually a K beauty essence (typically a bifida ferment type essence, Inisfree has a great one I often use am and pm), a brightening serum (age spots y'know, Naturium tranexamic acid and/or alpha arbutin or both together), a peptide serum, and a ceramide moisturizer. Lotta sh*t but I don't mind this at night; daytime is a lighter routine to avoid pilling of my makeup), and an eye cream. I am a self-professed product junkie, bargain basement prices but great quality stuff (I do my research too, like you!) it's fun, I'm 66 and have taken good care of myself and my skin for years, was also blessed with good genes, but I have dry/dehydrated skin (fair skinned Irish). I'm a drugstore makeup queen, and realize paying lots of money for great skincare and makeup is just a waste anymore, with brands like ELF, the Ordinary, and certain K beauty products to name but a few. So, your reviews are ALWAYS the best (my favorite channel ❤️) and your skin and coloring are very similar to mine, so helpful for makeup shade selection. ELF's HH cleansing balm is a winner, and I'm gonna pick up the HH daily cleanser, the HH sleeping mask, and maybe, maybe the HH spf daily moisturizer too. Love from the Garden State (NJ).
I have dry skin. Elf is one of my favorite brands but neither one of their face creams(holy hydration and happy hydration) moisturize my skin much. The one that does is their Superhydrate moisturizer, which is crazy cause it’s very jelly like and those never typically work for me. It’s amazing to use under a thicker cream(how I use it) and it really amps up the hydration for a nice glow.
Just subscribed!! What a great video!! So informative and helpful! I’ve tried some of the holy hydration products and plan on doing the whole line as my routine! I’m really looking forward to your thoughts on their vitamin c!! Thanks for a great video, will be checking out your other videos!❤️❤️
Ooo they have a cleansing balm! I am loving Elf. I use the holy hydration eye cream all over my face. Their scent free stuff is awesome, actually doesn't burn. I had some issues w/ their regular. I'm pretty sensitive to certain things.
I have dry dehydrated skin that is sensitive and reactive ... what has been working terrifically for me these days is Tret at .1% alternating with Curology .14% Tret, and Toleriane products from La Roche Posay. For a long time I had to smother on moisturizer as soon as I woke up in the morning. Now I don't need to! I have a ton of other product now collecting dust. I use Toleriane Nuit after Tret, and Toleriane Ultra Fluid sometimes in the morning (well before a shower or getting ready). In the morning, I use Timeless Vitamin C, The Ordinary Lactic 10%, and Timeless Co Q 10 serum, then my La Roche Posay Invisible Fluid.
Thank you, because I have extremely dry. I don’t have time for vitamin C, but I am glad your gonna check it out for us😊. I don’t care what anyone says, I will always use seperate eye cream. I mean that’s what it’s made for. I love the way you described peptides. I really understand what peptides are for now.
Hi thank you for sharing these awesome reviews. My question is, is there a elf holy hydration cleansing balm without fragrance as well as one with fragrance? Thanks.💜
I have combo skin with a somewhat oily T-zone, and I have been loving these products! I have the same issue with milia around my eyes, so I will be trying the eye cream! Thank you for researching vitamin C, too! Very informative!
I just noticed your adorable pika chu and the lava lamp in the background so cute definitely would love a link for the scoops you get I these scoups that come with makeup cleansing balms are way to tiny for me as well especially sense I have a issue with my spine causing me to drop things like crazy so definitely need a bigger scoup
Ziva! 😻 Great video Shelly! I've used the cleansing balm and face cream, both worked great for me. I too wish more of the line was fragrance free...I can usually handle fragrance in cleansing products but anything with fragrance that's staying on my face will typically irritate it :-(
You are so knowledgeable! I love learning about skin and skincare. I tried an ELF moisturizer once and I don't know if it was part of the Holy Hydration line. It worked great on my dry skin. I also use whatever oil I have as well, so that boosts it. Whenever I find my high end moisturizers on sale though, I always grab those. I always have that doubt in my head about skimping on skincare. I can't explain it well, lol. When I run out of what I have, I'll test out ELF for a longer period. It would be nice to save money.
Great video as always. Didn’t know about that line, very happy because I have dry skin .The peptide story was so cute, didn’t know about that. Thank you for this review. Love your short hair by the way . Bye 😘
I love your kitty 😺 ❤ 😍 so beautiful and ty for the tips this video is very helpful I just bought the mini e.l.f hydrating facial kit I love it but I needed advice so I came across your video about this ❤ keep making your videos so I can learn more beauty facial stuff 😆 I'm such an goober
Thanks so much for this review! Have you tried the Elf Superhydrate Moisturizer? I wonder how the Holy Hydration compares. I did run out and get the sleep mask on your recommendation. I'm excited to try it tonight.
I need fragrance free because of allergies. So, the only ones I use from this line are the eye cream and the fragrance free moisturizer. I’m so happy with them that I’d try, and probably use, everything in the line if it were fragrance free. Actually, I can’t use chemical sunscreens either. Gotta tell you that I love your cat and the ears. And thanks for the tip about “seven skin.” I’m going to start tonight.
Ooo, thank you for this full-routine review! I've been enjoying a few of these products and now need to add that sleeping mask ... once I get through all my others lol. And *YES* to more fragrance-free! I wish the SPF 30 face cream were fragrance-free. I love how hydrating it is - and the price! - I'm just scared to get it anywhere near my eyes.
Question? When wearing the HH Mask to bed, do you apply Anything else Underneath? Thanks for the great lessons video 🥰 Great Big Thumbs Up 👍 from this dry skin fan 🥰
I am sneaking this video in at work while typing...ssshhh. I have a white bump next to inner eye - how do they disappear? I am going to try the new Elf line. Sounds like its a good line. And I best get some peptides, as I can use all the help I can get. Your skin is looking so good!! Vitamin C is another thing I need to try. I think I am just lazy in doing all the steps. I need to rewatch this to get the steps down!!! Thanks agaun
Thank you so much for the information in this vid!! You completely answered the questions I had with vitC etc.. This range looks brilliant! I'll have to search it out here.. As always - Thank you! I really appreciate you taking the time to bring us honest feedback (and save us money!).. Much love from New Zealand xx
I love the holy hydration moisturizer w/o fragrance since I'm sensitive to it. Also I've been using The Ordinary Ascorbyl Glucoside Solution 12% as a vitamin c serum, have you used it? Thoughts?
I just used the cleansing balm the other day. Having really sensitive eyes, I found this to be a very nice product. No burning, and eye makeup came off easily. Yay Ziva. She's just gorgeous. Yes to the eye cream. No sensitivity whatsoever. The regular Holy Hydration moisturizer is a fantastic product. I just picked up the Happy Hydration moisturizer. It's nice also. How does the hydrating mask feel once applied? Is it sticky, or does it sink into the skin? Great products at an amazing price point. Bravo Elf. Thanks Shelly. This was a very informative video! 😊🥰
Hi Rene! The mask does not absorb immediately though it's also not sticky to any noticeable degree (I don't get cat hair stuck in it when I go to bed... strange way to judge, but there you have it! My secrets are out!) 😹 I can tell that some rubs onto my pillow over time, but that seems to be the case with everything I put on my face at night!
@@goow I totally understand about the cat hair! LOL. I try to let everything absorb in before going to sleep, but that's not always possible. Oh well. Only a pillowcase.
Yep I use the Clarins Total Eye Lift (red bottle) for morning and night, with the exception of tretinoin nights when I do no separate eye cream. I rotate through night moisturizers - it's usually either the Elf Holy Hydration or the Ole Henriksen strength trainer.
Great review! ❤Elf is a great affordable option.

The Believe Beauty skincare line is amazing! Same for the Elf Holy Hydration line. Both are excellent!
@@R.P.MillerYES!! But, I have only tried the hydrating gel cream. What products have you used? My skin can be sensitive, so I've been concerned about using too many products with a strong fragrance. Thanks so much!❤️
I think your skin looks fantastic
Awwww pretty kitty! ☺️ love your videos!
I am so excited about this line, I have been racking my brain trying to finda affordable cruelty free skin care line.😊
Thank you Shelly. I’ve started using the bounce back jelly cleanser and I really like it. I have super sensitive skin and skin barrier irritation so. I use filtered water to wash my face. It’s getting better. I think I may try some of these.
I've been looking for a more affordable eye cream; thanks so much for your review!
I have just started using the Elf
Exfoliater. So far it has been good. Always love seeing Ziva. ❤️
I just noticed I was low on cleansing balm that I usually get from YesStyle. I panicked because I can’t wait a month for it to come. Love that this is a great one! You have saved me!
I haven't tried as many e.l.f. HH products as you but I love what I have tried
LOVED this video….. going back to watch the rest of your skincare vids💖
Shelley, your skin is perfect!
Good stuff, Shelly! I really like the moisturizer. Btw...I have the same issue with milia under the eyes when using certain stuff.
Thank you for mentioning fragrance in your videos!
Love this line, I’ve been using it for quite some time!! Wasn’t aware of the mask so I’m definitely going to add it!! Thanks!😊
I loveeee affordable skincare😍😍😍
Welcome, Michele!!
I can't wait to try all these awesome products by ELF 🥰
Ooo they have a cleansing balm! I am loving Elf. I use the holy hydration eye cream all over my face. Their scent free stuff is awesome, actually doesn't burn. I had some issues w/ their regular. I'm pretty sensitive to certain things.
I ordered the sample kit to see how this works on my dry skin. Thanks for your review!!
I love that they do the sample kits! Let me know how you like it, Jacque!
I've had all of those in my rotations except the Ordinary Lactic - maybe I need to try that since we seem to have agreement on everything else!
@@goow Yes, I do believe we have the same coloring, undertone and dry/dehydrated skin!
Thanks.💜
Hi Deena! They have a fragrance free version of the face cream but not of the cleansing balm that I know of.
@@goow Thank you💜
I have combo skin with a somewhat oily T-zone, and I have been loving these products!
These are the ones I get on Amazon! $6 for 50 of them. I still haven't run out 😂 amzn.to/3PpuKXX
Ziva! 😻 Great video Shelly! I've used the cleansing balm and face cream, both worked great for me. I too wish more of the line was fragrance free...I can usually handle fragrance in cleansing products but anything with fragrance that's staying on my face will typically irritate it :-(
I use ponds for my cleansing balm but it does burn my eyes a bit maybe I'll try the elf
Bye 😘
I just got their hyuralonic acid serum and omggggg my skin looks and feels so good.
I’ve been using the Tatcha Dewy Skin moisturizer but it’s $60 😭 so I’m going to pick up this elf moisturizer and give it a try!
Hehe I have that Tatcha too and I use it so sparingly because it's so expensive that it'll probably go bad before I finish it! Oy 😂
Thanks so much for this review! Have you tried the Elf Superhydrate Moisturizer? I wonder how the Holy Hydration compares. I did run out and get the sleep mask on your recommendation. I'm excited to try it tonight.
I haven't yet Jan! I'll try and grab it next time I'm out!
I love Ziva she's adorable omg I love cats
Ooo, thank you for this full-routine review! I've been enjoying a few of these products and now need to add that sleeping mask ... once I get through all my others lol. And *YES* to more fragrance-free! I wish the SPF 30 face cream were fragrance-free. I love how hydrating it is - and the price! - I'm just scared to get it anywhere near my eyes.
Question? When wearing the HH Mask to bed, do you apply Anything else Underneath? Thanks for the great lessons video 🥰 Great Big Thumbs Up 👍 from this dry skin fan 🥰
Hi Terri! Yes, I usually do my usual evening routine (either tretinoin or a retinol underneath) and I use it as my final moisturizer.
I'm not dry but so into maintaining moisture to keep wrinkles at bay, this is super exciting.
It blows my mind how much good hydration can reduce the look of lines! I love it =D
love your nails ... color and perfect length! love elf too! this is natalie from athens where you got your first tattoo!!
Thanks, Natalie! I love Athens so much!! It's been far too long since I've been back!!
Thoughts?
Haven't tried it yet!
Beautiful kitty!! 💕
Do you still do eye cream in your day time routine ? What about the night cream for night time routine ?
Yep I use the Clarins Total Eye Lift (red bottle) for morning and night, with the exception of tretinoin nights when I do no separate eye cream. I rotate through night moisturizers - it's usually either the Elf Holy Hydration or the Ole Henriksen strength trainer.
