  • Alrighty, we are heading out on one of our longer moves and let's do some hyperlaps and then talk about the fuel burn differences between the S790s and the X9 that we have noticed thus far.
    For extra entertainment, polls, pictures, flash backs, Ashtyn & Chapel, and more interactive content or just to contact Mike 🙂

So wide open where you are amazing. You combine 40 acres an hour most guys in the uk think they have a good day if they did 40 acres. • @John-nc4bl
      @John-nc4bl ปีที่แล้ว

      @@symbologee Beef up the root end of the unload auger and extend the auger. - Nothing wrong with a mid span brace for support that would swing with a long unload auger
      Or
      Make the unload auger and its pipe to scope out instead of having to fold a long auger along the back of the combine. (figuring out how to scope out to screwed flighting could be a tricky one) - heck just blow the kernels out the pipe and not have an auger.
      Or
      Like the Auzzies do, have an extension on the side of the grain cart when they are running 60 foot heads.

    • @lynwessel2471
      @lynwessel2471 ปีที่แล้ว

    • @John-nc4bl
      @John-nc4bl ปีที่แล้ว

      @@lynwessel2471 Great minds think alike as I was also thinking about that.
      Self propelled grain carts with the drivers elevating cab at the back of the cart would work well, otherwise with a tractor, the unload auger would have to be angled back too far
      impeding the combine operators view of the spout end of the auger and the dust storm coming out of the back of the combine may contaminate the grain in the cart.
      Synthetic vision like that used in some aircraft could be used or a camera in the combines cab to see the spout end could eliminate the need to see the real thing.

    Still can’t figure out why you’re getting on the roof. Obviously they don’t think we should be up there or they would have put access steps on the machines

    I would bet the combine running at 1900 rpms instead of others running over 2100 rpms makes the difference in fuel

    Do you fuel up the grain carts last because unfortunately the crop yields are poor and if necessary can show up late to next field because not needed in a big rush.
    Like every year, hoping for a better crop next year.

      Always fill up after your done. Because the fuel tanks are warm and I’ve not completely filled you get condensation in your tank

      You fuel up the grain carts last because they don’t burn much fuel in a day so they only need a splash

    I thought the HD 50fd didn't have an auger I thought it was strictly a draper?

    • @lynwessel2471
      @lynwessel2471 ปีที่แล้ว

      It's a "pea auger" like the Honeybee drapers also have. Helps viney bushy crops like peas, canola, mustard move along and not start rolling on the belt like tumbleweeds.

    • @mikemitchell2554
      @mikemitchell2554  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Tracks on combines are over rated, and not needed in this part of the world. Also they come with sweet 100k premium, so that money has to come back to you and I simply cannot make that investment back.

    Running around with 8 combines after a few kernels off, ove, of, off,off😊😊😊😊😉stunted crops is just not profitable and not sustainable.
