You can really see the difference between Linguistics and Dynamite, who tend to be hosts for lighter drum and bass events, and Skibba, Shabba and Shotta who are full on MCs for predominantly jump up raves. Two different roles, but in terms of lyrical skill there's no doubt who's higher
Don't throw poor Dynamite in with Linguistics. Linguistics is a _real_ "host MC", as in he literally can't do the doubletime thing without choking, whereas Dynamite is an absolutely killer on doubletime, but he chooses to be more restrained and subtle most of the time.
The amount of versatility and pure energy and flow that UK MC’s show versus US “MC”s is nuts. Coming from someone born and raised in the US, we’re way behind in terms of MCs that come close to the skills of the scene of Drum n Bass and Grime MCs.

I have to say me being 32 years old 33 in September and involved with the rave scene since I was 14 and use to be D&B to the bone I over the years have grown to like underground like Grime... BUT... It is WICKED seeing two legends (Skib and Shab) rocking it with Shotta who is new-ish into the scene (new-ish meaning not as long as the legends)... Shotta will have the same status as Skib and Shab (meaning legend)... All I will say about Shotta is he needs some new lyrics as most videos I watch of him he says the same bars and it's starting to get slightly boring, other than that what cool uplifting bars by all people involved BUT my fav was Skib, Shab and Shotta... D&B baby :-)
