charity cameo would be great!
i love how you guys each add your own comments.
also sexuality is literally written into everyone's dna(well except asexuals, idk how they achieved that level of power)
society just tries to tell everyone it isn't
If this video does well, we can definitely do a sequel. Like I said at the end, there are a LOT of dumb TikTok trends that didn't make it into this episode
Kevin, Let's Gooooo!
As a non-TikTok user, I'd love to see more videos to justify my distaste for the platform. Better than my being old ... Hey! What are you doing in my garden? Get! Ow! My back!! Shit ... did I leave this on again?
@@callysto11 Sure! Where we going?
@@diyeana To be fair, despite being old, I get the appeal. I don't use TikTok, but I'll frequently get distracted by TH-cam shorts which are the same thing
#1 dumbest TikTok challenge, downloading TikTok.
I love simons charity idea. When he sold off his scripts for 100$ donations to an orphan charity
I was lucky enough to score the script from the "Game show" episode of BB! Worth every penny!
Hope the script had a few good smackings to make it more valuable. That sounds awesome tho, good for you
Didn't that used to be a feature of Cameo?
I'm a web app developer. I'm willing to donate my time, if someone could help out with the legal/accounting side.
If they brought back paper scripts being slapped around, I would be interested in buying 1
@kakaz98 If you’re willing to base this out of Canada, I would be happy to help.
"Wow! That looks dangerous ... but that person got a lot of views, so lead me to the danger." *Ten minutes later emergency services have to be called, but before they arrive the video goes viral because the friends of the "stuntman" can't resist uploading the video immediately*
No No! Cameo celebs can be doing it for the love of their fans. Once when it was my brother's birthday he had covid so was in isolation. I paid for a Cameo video of Dr Karl Kennedy from Neighbours (Allan Fletcher) sing him happy birthday. We love Neighbours and it's kinda our thing to watch it together, so having the infamous Dr K sing and play guitar to him for his birthday was incredible. Allan Fletcher recorded the video within the day and included an extra song and so many awesome little anecdotes. He was such a legend! I'd say he does pretty well for himself and wouldn't need the extra cash, and he didn't charge much either, but he was just such a dude to make the video knowing it would make my brother's day.
Holy crap, Simon started his tangent right as a siren went off outside my widow!! It honestly took a while to figure out if it was real or from my TV.
I like how the brain blaze went from fact boy wanting to talk about business and now he’s doing tik tok challenge commentary
12:50
"Stupid and Dangerous challenges"
One chip challenge!
There's been a couple of people who died doing it!
Roh-bit-es-in. I love when Simon has to pronounce a new word.
So you do all the gifs, each different gift has a random pool that it can pull from of you answering to that gif, then which ever one is picked is put into a queue based on the gifts given in order, then when there isn't any gifts being given you just go back to the same three NPC animation gifs recycling themselves.... It's actually kinda brilliant for an automated Money Making thing >.>
haha these edits make this so much more worth watching haha
The thing I find most hilarious about these is virtually none of the are original. The NyQuil thing is nowhere near new. I graduated highschool in the early 90s and Robo-tripping was old news. It was Robitussin which has/had DXM (dexrtromethorphan) in it and people would just buy a large bottle and drink as much as possible or the whole thing to trip off the DXM. It was ex -military people that learned it because it was the only safe way they could experience hallucinogens without LSD or psilocybin (magic mushrooms) in the military. No one questioned a bottle of cough syrup in a footlocker but LSD or mushrooms were easy to find.
The one about shorting out a circuit breaker is also really old. A friend of mine in highschool did this with either a staple or a folded up gum wrapper (aluminum foil backed paper) that he would use a Bic pen pocket clip to insert in an electrical outlet either as a joke or to just end class due to a homework assignment he didn't do or a test he wasn't prepared for. It always worked and he never got caught LOL! Thanks bro! 🤘🤙
Definitely robo-tripped about 20 years ago. Felt like a damn mushroom trip, wild times...
21:41 fkn lol whoever did this is a genius
Do yourself a favor and find the Chris Eliot chat room skit from SNL.
So, the Nyquil chicken thing was (at least originally) totally satire. I don't know if it ended that way, but it was way smaller than people try to make it sound.
I'm guessing those who did the NPC stuff were too young to remember the subservient chicken. I wasted hours on that as a teenager.
The editing is hilarious 😂 congratulations 👏
The dumbest trend on tik tok is tik tok itself.
That is definitely paraffin wax, which does not pull hair out, but it is still an absolutely terrible idea, and I can't imagine how bad that would be for your eyes......
ETA- paraffin wax removes dead skin and moisturizes you skin, its not for hair removal
Row bit it son 😂😂😂😂
Gaaaaah, God i hate tiktok, YT shorts are bad enough, and watching a YT video about video trends on another platform is a hard pass. I hold out hope that "content" doesn't all blend together... I'll catch your next BB, Simon and crew.
(60 hours a day later...) "Hey, you. You're finally awake."
By Talos this can't be happening
I love that you used a clip from Viva La Dirt League's "Epic NPC Man"
I was just about to say that lol
That and the Brennan Lee Mulligan clips are the reason I’m in the comments!
VLDL is love, VLDL is life.
13:11 Yes, Simon. He's one of the very few people who understood the challenge.
The challenge is to donate to ALS research. If not, take an ice bath to briefly experience your nerves not working properly and see what you didn't donate toward curing (that sounds harsher than I intended but it was the point of the challenege).
That challenge got annoying. I have severe nerve damage all over. The entire time the challenge was running, everyone I interacted was pushing it hard. Actually got blasted online from an ex because I refused to do it. "But the ice lets you know how it feels to have nerve issues!"
I know, I live with it every day of my life. It might not be ALS, but it is similar. I'll donate money, that's no problem. It was just the amount of people who would call you out and try to force you to do something just to show you how you feel everyday got real old real quick.
I just realized how much I hated that particular challenge.
@@Plaprad It's freaking crazy they tried to force you to do that. Some peoples "not listening" skills are off the charts.
Nice to hear Patrick Steward understood the challenge. But he also doesn't need to do a stupid stunt for some views.
@@Plaprad This peripheral neuropathy sufferer thanks you. (It drove me nuts too!)
But wait... If the options were either to donate to charity or to get doused in ice water, why were so many people proudly and happily getting ice water dumped on them? All those people were proudly declaring "I refuse to donate to a charity! Look at me!"?
That's fucked.
there was a firefighter chief in Florida who let an old lady burn to death because he was too busy making TikTok's of himself putting out the fires in the woods behind the house, meanwhile the lady was on the phone with the dispatcher the whole time, telling her that help was almost there
the maximum damages you can sue state government for in Florida is also just $200k, so the family wasn't even able to be compensated nearly enough
FLORIDA!
Great for entertainment, terrible to live in!
Saving a lady would get more views or whatever if dude saved her instead of f-king TREES!
Bring back the tangent timer plz. 🤣
Pretty sure the tangent timer will be relegated to videos where Simon has an ungodly amount of tangents
I believe that Lorelei said that it would be coming back in future episodes. I'm eagerly looking forward to it.
I am fond of the blue butterfly Jen sometimes uses on the CC or DU when he is totally scatter-brained and does it consistently. 😂
It should be permanent
@ThatWriterKevin I'm guessing it's has to do with said editor
I love that simon pronouced Dextromethorphan correctly but Robitussin wrong 😂
You also caught that, huh? lol gotta love the Fact Boi!❤
I'm English, so the only time I've heard Robitussin said aloud was by Chris Rock, so I'm going with that as the correct way.
just remember the easiest way to get more robitussin is just add water and shake
@@lordorion5776 and to get the dxm out of delsym you can mix with water. It will separate and then you can poke a hole at the bottom of the water level so it drains off. Youre then left with the polystyrex coated beads of dxm. Dry them and put in capsules. Easier on tummy
These idiotic challenges are why now you have to be over 18 and have an id to buy cold medicine. Every time I have a customer complain about it I tell them if we didn’t have so many idiots we wouldn’t have so many idiotic rules to attempt to protect them. At a certain point it’s just natural selection. We need to take the really moronic warnings off of things, stop putting up a bunch of hurdles everyone else has to jump through to protect idiots and just let nature take its course. It sounds harsh but people need to take responsibility for their own actions and parents need to step up and pay attention to what their kids are doing rather than expect the entirety of the outside world to raise and monitor their kids.
Dumbest Tiktok trend? Easy. Creating a Tiktok account
Fr
A coworker of mine's 11 year old daughter died from a TikTok challenge. It might have been one Kevin mentioned at the end. But, in short, you choked yourself out using rope (or something similar) until you pass out. Something went wrong, and the rope stayed taut rather than becoming loose. She died. Her mom had blocked access to Tik Tok on everything at home. However, they had gotten a new TV a day prior, and the mom forgot to block it. It crushed all of us at work, as the daughter would sometimes come in and play with the kiddos at work. I work with children on the spectrum. She was awesome for many reasons, but specifically because she treated every kiddo as 'normal' in the center.
Yeah, that was the blackout challenge :(
That is so cruel, poor kid, poor parents...
@@ThatWriterKevinthe sadder part being we used to do this as kids but no rope. You can do it with your own hands making sure that once your out... You'll let go. Why ppl used a rope... Smh...
hmm that was almost the exact plot of one of Kinsey Milhones( author sue Grafton, now deceased, cancer) last cases.
That is truly horrible. But I do have to point out unfortunately that particular trend has been around for a whole. I remember it being a thing when I was a kid. Supposedly, the kids do it because you feel really good after.
I stuck a paperclip in a socket in the 80's, I didn't need tiktok to be dumb, lol.
Mine was a penny in a light socket. After I recovered my grandpa just went, "Yain't gonna do that again, are ya?"
A classmate of mine did that in science class of all places. He also ate the mercury in the mercury puzzle. Then he lost a bet and shaved his eyebrows off. He got a lot of attention and just kept shaving his eyebrows.
I don't think he would have lived to graduation if Tik Tok existed back then
My classmate in high school swallowed a thumb tack in class. When he was asked how the hell he did that, his reply was: "I stuck it on an eraser and bit it". Our German teacher drove him to the ER but they obviously couldn't do anything but wait for it to hopefully find its way out without poking his intestinal tract.
I'm Simon's age. The only thing I remember about this dude is that he was effing dumb enough to swallow a thumb tack when he was 17. They say that people don't remember the stupid crap you do, but sometimes they do, and then you are the thumb tack guy forever.
Room temp challenge
Simon's editor ripping on him mercilessly is exactly what I come here for.
And the writers baiting him with tangent sparks or anticipating his reaction and making him laugh upon reading exactly what he just said.
"If you were good at your job you wouldn't need to do Cameo." Side eyes a certain former lawyer and Mayor of New York City.
you're sure he isn't side eying a former congressperson, the guy who invented the cure for cancer, and the first woman on the moon, who is currently suing a late night talk show host for using his cameo clips on his show?
@@kenbrown2808 there's just too many idiots to choose form
Probably wouldn't be a "billionaire" president with a Go Fund Me for legal bills either ..
And former New York congressman too lol
@@kenbrown2808 You must be talking about the same guy who did the first heart transplant on the ISS arriving in an ambulance rocket he built from two scrapped water heaters, a ball of twine and a wet sock?
Blazing the glory that is VLDL's 'Epic NPC Man' series = 10/10 move.
Those guys are so hilarious.
I know! I got excited!
Viva la dirt league reference is tight!
Came here to say this!
And don't forget the amazing D&D channel they've got
@n0username0n wow, wow wow,...
Wow!
Short answer: All of them.
😅Yes. Do not bother watching, as all Tic Toc content is equally garbage.
ETA: Sorry, "tiktok"
Agreed 💯 I have a very small selection of videos I watch over there - animals, recipes and ofc videos my friends post, but the majority of stuff on there is completely ridiculous 😂 allegedly.. in my opinion of course... 😅
It's cancer and aids love child
The continuing race to the bottom of the barrel is pretty intense. And it's been going for eons.
@mybeautyfilledlife your videos are the worst on the platform
The part with Patrick Stewart saying no thanks to the ice bucket challenge and just calmly having a drink and writing a check for ALS was awesome! Notice the ice bucket right in front of him on the table... Pure gold 🤣🤣🤣
Don't forget the ice in the glass!
I was not expecting random Doki Doki Literature Club.
I sort of want to see him play that game.
Nobody does. It's always there. Waiting. Watching.
There's a reason why I like this channel the most...
Thank you for the warning
@Plaprad Oh god no. I've never played the game and know enough for this to be worrying.
I've hired a dozen celebrities on Cameo for personalized messages to friends who are fans of those celebrities. I think it's a fun way for fans to get a direct line to the celebrity without wasting the time of either the celebrity or the fan. I never regretted it and the recipients LOVED them. Especially the ones from Robert Picardo.
My sister got me a Cameo from Marina Sirtis for my law school graduation. I'm named after Deanna Troi (my brother suggested it and my parents didn't put it together until after I was born lol). And my undergrad cap was decorated with a quote from a TNG episode. I love Trek, and I loved the video. I still have it even though I graduated two and a half years ago
Robert Picardo is a treasure
I get it. There's a free wake up call service that used Robert Fry to voice the message, and I loved it, even though it wasn't personalized.
Bob Picardo is from everything I've seen a sweet entertaining man who loves interacting with fans.
Lol I was not expecting to see Greg the Garlic Farmer in a Fact Boi video.
I love the fact they did that. Poor Greg... they need to bring back Greta.
@@zerodadutch6285we should all refuse to watch until they bring her back
Or any wife
"Roe-bit-tiss-in" is the most british way to say robitussin possible
We have Simon, Viva la Dirt League, and Honest Ads all in one Brain Blaze.. the totality of my TH-cam use all at once!
Came here to say this!
The Nyquil chicken wasn't a challenge. It was a joke video someone made about how he regularly made "nyquil chicken" to help his wife sleep or something. It was an obvious parody. The "challenge" trend was reacting to the original video, but the news freaked out about people making it so people started actually doing it because they saw it in the news and were like "wait I can get high?"
It was mostly the fault of the news organization that didn't play the og video's audio, which clearly showed it was a joke, and thus creating hype around their version of the story!🙃
Right, like all the worst trends.
Doesn't that mean stupid people are the problem 🤔
In today's internet with today's children, no parody is obvious enough to not get them to do stupid things.
@@aaftiyoDkcdicurakStupid people, bad media competency, no supervision.
Bad combination.
I was not expecting Viva la dirt league to appear here
Love the VLDL's 'Epic NPC Man' scene
My god, the editing team put in some work on this one, and i loved every second of it
I work for the post office. I have the same few conversations with 60+ different humans a day. I am an NPC
You could also just be in repetitive situations.
You have any interesting quests?
I did the penny challenge (more or less) by accident as a kid. I was at a friend's house and we were playing treasure hunt where one of us hid something in a room and the other had to find it. We were using a foil chocolate wrapper as the treasure, and I had the idea of slipping it between an electrical plug and the wall.
There was a little explosion of sparks, a hole was burnt into the plastic of the plug, and my friend's brother shouted from downstairs "hey the power just turned off".
Yesss, a scuffed Brain Blaze episode, my favorite variety. Thanks Julian/Lorelei/ Sam for letting me know what to expect
Yeeeea VLDL! Epic NPC Man is phenomenal.
"hey you! Finally awake."
I swear those montage jokes are 50% of the reasons I watch brain blaze.
I once got a shock from a toaster. I was a child and the bread was leaning against the element(yes it was a very old toaster) so I used a butter knife to shift the bread and that is how I gained a strong respect for electricity
Hell, I got a weird static shock from the (non-electrical) hood of my stove because I was cleaning my stovetop with a certain Freeky cleaning agent that a bald guy is the spokesman for. It only happened using that stuff, and it only happened with the hood, not with anything else made of metal. I got a strong static shock right to the middle of my forehead and it staggered me and made me need to take a seat for a couple minutes to relax. If that could do that kind of work on me, the idea of what getting the stuff full power straight from the tap is terrifying.
lol. i did the exact same thing.
I love Simon's mispronunciations! Robitussin is row-bi (like bid) tuss - in

1:02 Wow, Simon's learned about the 'Tangent Timer'.
The tangent timer is a necessity now.
"Stay awhile and listen" my boys here dropping OG Diablo quotes 😂
It's not about needing to do cameos, it's about making random fan super happy
Always love the VLDL shout outs!
Omg that 60 hours a day bit had me laughing so hard I had to pause the video and then I kept just remembering and busting up laughing again for awhile throughout the rest of the video and afterwards. The editing in this one was beyond amazing! Thank you for being you lorelei/ avila a brown vu.
P.s. my best friend and I were pretty crazy in our younger years. We used to eat like 3 boxes of coriceden cough and cold (a s#!t load of dex.) a piece and get suuuuuuuuuuper high. I still remember it fondly and feel like I had a good time but definitely feel like it had some negative effects on my health in the long run...
Epic NPC man clip! Yay! Hahaha one of my favourite channels and I rarely see them acknowledge but they're brilliant.
I absolutely love this editor. They're so f***in' funny and in the best of ways. Perfectly timed clips, perfect clip/meme choices (of some of the best anime/movies), pointed shots at the best times, it's just absolutely perfect lol.
If Simon did cameo, people would constantly pay him to slap scripts :)
Does TikTok have anything that isn't dumb?
As long as Simon stays out of tik tok.
@@oracleofdelphi4533what the actual f..... why is "Thick Talk" translated to "Tik Tok" or vice-versa -.-
(que the meme of the robot saying "no.")

'Thick' in the UK means 'ignorant'.
So it makes perfect sense to me.
No.
I spat out my tea when the Skyrim opening faded in. Simon is a GREAT narrator (I hate streams, but I'd tune into Simon), but this video shows the sheer power of an excellent edit. Amazing
A few yrs before tiktok... my cousin (who is on the spectrum and too smart for his own good) almost became an elementary felon. He thought it would be a great flex to show his fellow 4th graders what happened when you took a paperclip and bent it up to fit in both electric socket slots (in order to arc the current and get it glowing hot before eventually blowing the circuit.)
No need to blame social media for kids being kids.
Shit...does nobody remember the Anarchist's Cookbook?
Back in the very early 2000's, my cousin put a PB&J sandwich in the VCR. No internet needed there. Just a hangry kid and an empty VCR.
Oh Lorelei i love the memeing in this one! Great job! Super edit!❤❤❤
***laughs in camgirl*** "Where's your dignity?!" It lives in my bank account :D
Did Simon say that? I definitely missed it if so, cause I sure as Hell wouldn't have written that
No he didnt! It's usually what I hear! @@ThatWriterKevin
@@vexvoltage6456 Some people really be jealous though.
All those proud fathers! 😂
Will that "dignity" last you the rest of your life? Probably not & good luck getting anyone's respect or attention when they realize the only way you know how to make money is on your back. 😂
I bet you really think your fans' compliments are genuine. 🤣 You're a talking blow-up doll. What's dignified about that?
Oh, you have money?
So do people who have actual skills... who do you think was paying you to degrade yourself in the first place LOL.
You know whatever service you did that cameo on would take like $200 of that $500 charity donation.
I knew people in high school (class of 2012) who took benadryl or nyquil pills to "trip". One had to go to the ER to get their stomach pumped. It always sounded so uncomfortable experience wise that I never understood why they'd risk liver damage to have a bad high.
Oh brother wait till you learn about hard drugs. People sacrifice their teeth skin and other things to get a high.
@okyep I understand doing hard drugs to get high. I don't understand taking over the counter meds to feel nauseous, dizzy, and have uncomfortable hallucinations. If it was fun, I could see the appeal, but I've never heard a positive story from taking a lot of nyquil or benadryl.
I messed with triple C's a few times when I was younger. After a fourth trip that was really bad never went back.
Those drugs are also sleep aids. It's probably that stuff that made them feel shitty. I did triple C's when I was a teen and it was fine. Not a good idea but I had a good time. It wasn't any more of a risk than other drugs. Mushrooms are poison and too much can cause you to need your stomach pumped as well, and too much LSD can make you literally insane. All harder drugs come with risks and I don't endorse any of them. I was young and dumb.
Personally, taking nyquil/dxm gives me feelings of relaxation and like I'm dreaming when I'm awake, so overall a pleasant experience. It's not so amazing though that I'd go for it when I have something better and more illegal lol. Now benadryl... that's a whole other story and just sucks. From what I've heard/seen, most of the people regularly trying to get high off benadryl are using it as a form of SH
Seeing Simon unknowingly talk into a microphone that wasn't having audio recorded from had me crying with laughter within the first minute 😂
The editing was absolutely unhinged on this one and I'm loving it 😂 on point af 👌

A nice Diablo reference. "Stay a while, and listen."
Why thank you! Deckard Cain is everyone's favourite NPC
I came here for this comment. I knew I wasn’t the only one who could appreciate a Diablo reference. Kevin you legend.
Hell yeah VLDL in a brain blaze ❤
About the silhouette challenge - from what I recall reading at the time, the filter was burned-in as Simon suggested, but the problem is that by messing around with characteristics of the image such as contrast, brightness, saturation, etc, you could make the black part of the image brighter/more defined up to a point where features of the individual were visible. The idea is similar to adjusting a sepia-toned old image and trying to 'repair' it to its pristine state.
I 100% was not expecting to see VLDL when starting this video. Fantastic! 👏 👏 👏
The only good use of Cameo that I can think of is for older actors that have had iconic roles in TV and movies for which they were famous, to get something said by that actor. Peter Jurasik is known for doing short rants/roasts as his character Londo Molari from Babylon 5. The fact he can jump right back into his character 30 years later is amazing to me.
"60 hours a day" was definitely an "8 days a week" joke.
Omg a clip of Viva la dirt league! Nice one 🤣👍
‘60 hours a day’ - from the same people who brought you ‘four-legged tripods’.
Hearing Simon read row-bah-tussin as ro-bit-a-sin made my day.

I think the editor is a fan. I seriously doubt Simon knows what it is, which would be so much better. That game is the most messed up crap to come out since Rapelay.
one of the best parts of brain blaze is when he goes off on a tangent
11:28 _"If you were making loads of money and being successful at your career you wouldn't need to do Cameo."_
No offense taken, Simon. I can't do Cameo.
Simon: "How is TikTok this shit?"

The Pinky Doll, NPC story, reminds me of an art performance. Also I can't fault her because some "real jobs" like fast food or the like, you don't have any control.
Simon's pronunciation of Robitussin made me lol
That duck noise loses it's charm REAAAAAAAALLY quickly.
I like Simon’s work but interjecting all the animated crap detracts from what he is presenting.
