At the time it was one of the fastest, most comfortable affordable cars. Got a GT for 30k out the door since all I cared about was the engine. Enjoyed stinger for 60k miles with lots of smiles along the way. It saw most of the east and west coast. It was a great experience, I would be saying bye to mine soon, getting family cars (I did get BRZ for fun car).
They needed to add more into the stinger. I own a 22 gt it's perfect daily driver but for 60k for the gt2 the argument becomes your options open up. It justify the 60k price point. I loved the wolf gray red interior combo but the dealers were marking them up to be unrealistic. Maybe in another time the stinger would have been a game changer. At least it lives on in the genesis g70
There should be a pull cord in the backseat, that opens the trunk. I have one in my 2015 Optima Hybrid EX. I learned that one day, when my battery died. Crazy thing .2 weeks ago i trades in my Scat pack challenger for a 2023 stinger GT . Main reason i like the look and i was tired of seeing chargers and challengers every 2 seconds .
Love the color. I remember when the Stinger came out with that stunning gun metal gray. And then Audi followed suit with the Nardo Gray, and so many others.
I had 2020 GT-line then upgraded to a 2022 GT2 scorpion. I absolutely love this car like it’s amazing. The scorpion edition has some slight differences which I like they only made 250 if I’m not mistaken.
Had a 2020 G70 3.3t so similar to this Stinger. The transmission was not great and the dealer experience was atrocious. I had transmission issues, brake issues, and the dealers (I went to 3) was not good at all. I was treated like I bought an Elantra. My previous experience with Audi and Lexus dealers was worlds ahead. My VW dealer experience was better than Hyundai/KIA so i can see why these cars didn’t sell. 50K buys you some nice cars with proper dealerships.
I have a 2018 and I can’t find a better vehicle for the value. This Is just one of those cars that is one of the best values ever produced. It got disrespected because of its badge one of the greatest cars ever built for the Money
The Stinger kind of reminds me of the Tiburon. Overlooked but solid performance for the price. I love my Stinger, It turns heads every time I drive it.People are looking for the badge. i have a 2022 stinger gt-line and its awesome. as a highschooler i honestly didnt need the extra 68hp but the 2.5t still pulls like crazy especially because i have little experience with performance cars. its the perfect mix of daily driveability and backroad fun. plus you get attention pretty much everywhere you go. couldnt recommend this car more (id recommend the ceramic silver if you get a regular gt or gt-line)
I’m just curious, as a high schooler how did you pay for this? Don’t particularly care if it was parental funds or your own money… Just want to know general price (especially if used).
I went with a K5 because I was betting on trading for a redesigned Stinger in ‘24 and didn’t want to invest in an outdated model. Unfortunately, that’s not going to happen and I’ll likely be looking at a BMW now. Love the K5 GT though, it just needs AWD. I have to wonder if the Stinger might return as an EV in the future.
I've loved my 2018 GT2 from day one. But to be honest I thought about trading it in... For a 2023 model. The only reason I hesitate is because they didn't add any more power when they really should have especially for this tribute model.
I have a Stinger gt I purchased in 2021. It is without dought the most beautiful car I have ever owned. constantly BEING ASKED ABOUT IT , It is beyond me why Kia wish to write this off. If they applied a bit more publicity to this wonderful machine they would have sold many many more, I for one applied for the new concept model except as usual Great Briton is not that important to this brillliant piece of engineering. Shame on you Kia but I stil love you ( downwind davis )
I own. 2020 GT AWD and it’s an Audi S7 for 30 grand less money. Every time I get tempted to get a new car I can’t find anything that competes that’s no 90 grand.
Same! I have 23 GT2 and have been shopping for a second car. So far, nothing else compares. There are better cars in terms of resale value, though, if that’s important to you at all.
Proud Genesis G70 owner. I like the Stinger and sad to see it go. The reason I chose G70 over Stinger is the looks-it exudes luxury and has a very unique exterior, especially with the new refreshed styling. Both Stinger and G70 are really rare to see on the streets. I still haven’t seen more than 2 G70s (newest version) on the road! I have seen very few Stingers and GV70s and 80s for that matter but not daily and I live in a big city, SA Tx.

I am glad that you were able to enjoy it!
Kia owner here. Kia has found a way to give you the most bang for the buck. The stinger is absolutely incredible and I’m sorry to see it go.
What’s the color silver metallic ?
I just got a 2023 Kia stinger gt2 awd. I love it and I’m not mad about trading in my 2020 charger scat pack for it.
Nice review keep up the good work Joe
You got it Marcus!
The Stinger is an awesome vehicle! Great Value and packs a punch against the German rivals
Happy Easter Joe and Lori I'm sorry for missing out on the amazing car reviews
Same to you my friend! Thanks for saying that.
I might hurry up & buy this car quickly Joe.
Oh I believe it Jeremiah!
How’s the power difference?
That is so awesome! Thanks for sharing that ownership experience !
Good question!
@@KobeMpthers seems a little more powerful IMO even louder also.
@@antwandickerson223 so the speed difference is little for the 2.5 and 3.3? Not bad. I thought it’s was going to be a huge different
Love this car! Great review
I think they should have marketed it better I have a 2018 when I got it back then people didn’t know what it was and some don’t even til this day
I have an 18’ GT2. It’s definitely a lot of car for the price. Turns heads, people ask, it’s a pretty fun experience
You are so very right Daniel!
This was my first car i loved it and runs good im a 75k miles. 375 hp fastest car usually on the road
Wasn’t there supposed to be a led color light that comes with it ?
I've been wanting one for years now. It's an absolutely beautiful vehicle, the performance is spectacular. To bad I can't afford one 😢😢😢
I have a 2018 and I can’t find a better vehicle for the value. This
Is just one of those cars that is one of the best values ever produced. It got disrespected because of its badge one of the greatest cars ever built for the Money
The Stinger kind of reminds me of the Tiburon. Overlooked but solid performance for the price. I love my Stinger, It turns heads every time I drive it.People are looking for the badge. Wondering what type of car it is. I put the vintage Korean Kia badge on it to confuse them even more lol. I'm glad I was able to cop one before they are discontinued.
I would have bought it if it came in manual. Practical, fun, good looking.
Looks great love to see it in green
Stay tuned I will try to track one down.
We own a 2019 in the family and share it as the traveling sedan it's an amazing sedan roomy powerful this one is a must have edition thank you for the amazing review definitely must trade up to a 2023 before they all are gone
I had a 2018 GT2 and traded it in for a 2023 GT2 Grand Tourer edition once I heard this was the last year. Maybe move quickly if you can because they'll have to cease production well before 2024 to avoid the chance dealers will be sitting on them into next year.
stinger is a people's champ. i root for underdogs and i rooted for stinger.
Same here Joe!
Watching Raiti’s Rides, Car Confections, and 2theredline is like part of my daily ritual now.
Thanks for being so supportive Grant!
i have a 2022 stinger gt-line and its awesome. as a highschooler i honestly didnt need the extra 68hp but the 2.5t still pulls like crazy especially because i have little experience with performance cars. its the perfect mix of daily driveability and backroad fun. plus you get attention pretty much everywhere you go. couldnt recommend this car more (id recommend the ceramic silver if you get a regular gt or gt-line)
Paid for by mommy
Is 2.5 stinger faster than 2.0 accord and Elantra n?
I’m just curious, as a high schooler how did you pay for this? Don’t particularly care if it was parental funds or your own money… Just want to know general price (especially if used).
Still happy with my '22 GT Line. It will be many years before I would need an upgrade.
I sat in that same exact stinger the other day at the auto show!
Thanks for your thought process on the buying of your K5 Greg!
I think Kia EV6 is supposed to take the stinger's place
Lovely Car and Video Joe- Best Wishes
I've loved my 2018 GT2 from day one. But to be honest I thought about trading it in...
For a 2023 model. The only reason I hesitate is because they didn't add any more power when they really should have especially for this tribute model.
I'm too young at the moment. Hopefully, I can get it on used car market in two decades hopefully
😭
Rest in peace, friend
Dream big!
Hey Joe! THX! Why is it no one ever mentions the thumb notches discretly placed at 4 and 8 on that sexy wheel? On of my favs on my 2020.
I am glad that you are liking this one.
Yeah I get a compliment on stinger literally almost every week, it looks sporty but suave at the same time .
Where im from u see alot of g70s and g80s, as for the stingers u see them once every couple of months 😂
@@Mr505505 really? Where do you live?

Very underrated car, great price for the performance you get! and i personally like the way it looks, its unique, sleek, stylish and sexy!
I wonder which is better this Kia Stinger 2023 vs the new 2024 Volvo s60 recharge ultimate black edition with polestar optimization though …? Anyone who knows about car dro a comment please I will like to hear opinions so I can buy a car
I have a Kia stinger gt 2023 already so this Kia line is different ?
Yes it is . It is a special edition.
@@RaitisRides 🥲🥲 I was about to start feeling special 😅
Hello and Happy Easter to you Joe and your lovely wife Lori and family.
Same to you and yours!
Would getting matte paint be a mistake?
I haven't bought one yet and I don't regret it although It's a nice car.
This is going to be a classic car that goes up in value. Mark my words!
I love the color of the tribute addition stinger gt 😍. I'm thinking about getting one but not positive about it yet. I have the base model right now but it's still a great car on saving gas but I would love the V6 turbo charged engine. I'll just have to keep it in mind for now. Hopefully it won't sell out fast but who knows. Thank you for your time and information on everything 🙏 I love watching your videos all the time.
You have the 2.0 or 2.5?
@@KobeMpthers I have the 2.5 2022 stinger gt line
@@gemmalynwilliamson404 have you race any accord 2.0, Elantra n and the new wrx?
The back seats are super comfortable 👌🏾
