- This is my experience of having to deal with someone plagiarizing my videos, I hope my story brings more light to this growing problem.

Good video, over the years I've noticed people doing the same thing in Vietnamese and Russian as well, of which I only found the videos because a viewer of mine happened to speak both languages and told me about them on discord. It sucks and I wish there was an easy way to deal with them, but as you showed in the video its a huge headache, especially when its not just 1 youtuber, but multiple stealing videos. At least they don't make nearly as much money from the videos because their audiences aren't English speaking.

I remember that time ago I came across samolos' videos about the problem with diamonds and the worst Minecraft update, I realized instantly that they were plagiarism, I left a comment about it on the videos.
The thing is that my comment went completely unnoticed, since Samolos's audience is Spanish-speaking children, and in the same way as Dylan's case, they do not care or even do not see the bad thing in the plagiarism of content since they do not know English, and according to them, the TH-camrs who steal do something good by "translating the content"
Chances are, Samolos could also be hiding comments talking about it, or just outright blacklisting the word "XayXay"

Dude I’m so sorry for what’s happening to you. As a Brazilian I feel like most of these TH-camrs’ viewers are children, and due to a language barrier they really don’t get recommended videos like yours.
This happens so often in the Spanish community that I think people don’t care anymore. But I do, I think they should always give credit in their videos!
This happens a lot between languages. Not just English speaking content but between all of them. There’s an absolutely enormous Russian speaking youtuber who is basically Russian MrBeast. There’s also plenty of English speaking youtubers who steal content from other language youtubers, but it’s less common. I would assume this is because English is kind of the current age lingua franca. It’s easier for nonnative English speakers to notice the theft since they have a chance to also watch the original content in their native language.

why is plagiarism becoming so common nowadays, i can't go a single video without seeing "this youtuber stole my video" like why can't the copiers be original (im not attacking who is making the video regarding the topic of plagiarism) sure flopping in a video is really painful but isntead of copying, try to keep on with a hot topic, but id recommend not making brainrot, thats literallly what happened with memezee, only donations keep his channel running, inspiration and commenting on popular topics or response videos are fine, atleast they have a touch of originality so please, to whoever is copying videos from small people, just read the advice and try to take it into account :)

lets be real, i never thought some random thief would make more than the victim.
the main problem is not giving credits i think, cause they arent stealing your viewers, but when they not give you credits, they are making you lose possible fans to your content, if they gave you credit thought they would be making publicity of your channel.

Dude, I'm Brazilian and I've seen a lot of people take and plagiarize content from the United States. In fact, this is much more common than you imagine, in my view, this is really annoying to do, it's a kind of ridiculous thing, in my opinion, but everything that is Made in the USA goes to Brazil in some way, in the form of plagiarism or inspiration, whether we want it or not

It's a shame that it doesn't have subtitles in Portuguese, I believe that more Brazilians need to see this video. This type of plagiarism is quite common in Brazil and is considered normal.
I was of the idea that Spanish and Portuguese are similar enough to tell, but I could add Portuguese to the list as well
@@XayXayYT Spanish and Portuguese are similar, but not mutually intelligible, kinda like English and Dutch, you can kinda get the gist reading something in the other language if you know one of them, but so much grammar and individual words are different that most of the nuance is gone
I'm portuguese actually, not brazilian... portuguese, Yeah that's kinda true, I can understand "most" of Spanish even if I didn´t learn it. But still, like 20% of the words are very very different.

As a Brazilian, stealing content here is common that when I watch English Minecraft videos after some days a Brazilian TH-camr f**king copies it so here’s 30 reais ~6 dollars to compensate this sad thing 😔

As a Brazilian, I say that it is very disappointing to see TH-camrs like Peter Pines just entirely stoling a video, Sadly this is pretty common in brazil
Something I don't think the average viewer may realize is that this affects us creators on a monetary level. This is how we pay bills. This is how we survive. It's not easy work and it is incredibly stressful. Having content stolen means money you could have been making is being stolen. Seeing people say things like "Great job!" or "Nice editing!" is EXTREMELY disheartening. I'm happy you made this video. It's good to see more awareness about this issue affecting small creators everywhere. Excellent video, excellent editing, good job.

Really sorry to hear about this, Xay. Foreign content thieves is a suspiciously more common problem lately and I hope something could be done to counter it.
Something I've noticed is that Samalos and others doesn't translate your video by himself, he probably used Google translate as "salvaje" means wild but he says wild when referring to the wild update rather than "el update salvaje". So he puts in even less effort.
Google translate sucks it's only really good for a quick translation

I'm Brazilian, I follow Deew and Peter Pines and I only feel indignation and disappointment about this
Don't be too hard on yourself, the responsibility lies on the creator, not the viewers.
However as viewers you can let them know that you don't approve of this by refusing to watch them, unsubscribing, etc.

im brazilian and im shocked with this video, I feel ashamed of the state of minecraft BR channels currently. I grew up following good channels with authentic videos since I was a child, I feel sorry for those who will no longer have this opportunity
This seems like a big problem. These TH-camrs really take an advantage of the language barrier and small creators. If they copied a big TH-camr in English they would immediately be caught and quite possibly get noticed by TH-cam. But the channels are you pointed out are sub 200K they are only watched by the viewers of their language. I'm glad you pointed this out and I hope these TH-camrs get noticed and they stop otherwise TH-cam will one day be forever filled with plagiarism.

cross-language plagiartism is also a thing I more and more notice in the german youtube scene here where some shady indivituals steals videos from (usually) english speaking youtubers and just put their german voice (or even just computer tts/ai voice💀💀) over it and in extreme cases even stealing the video material and just put some (sometime hillariously unequal) black bars over it to hide the original creators logo/watermark/name etc. Even the Thumbnails and the titles are stolen.
And all of this just for some quick bucks 💀

Hey dude, this is a great video explaining how big this problem is, so many people just don't understand the gravity and stress these kind of things cause creators and I'm glad more people are talking about it. Sadly it's so hard to actually get videos taken down because the copyright system is just not good, but it doesn't mean us as a community can't stop these creators from stealing other people's content. Keep up the good work!

Hi, am the guy who made the video about divi, which hulkingalpaca was inspired by.
Divi is still stealing videos word for word, which breaks youtube rules, but youtube doesnt care if someone is breaking their rules because no.
I think that contacting someone higher in youtube is the only way to go, since the stealers simply dont care about the hate, and will simply steal more videos ( at least thats what divi is doing)
Set up another account as your name XayXay En Espanol. When he posts a new copy of yours. You take his FREE translation and apply to you new Channel. Have someone speak for you and boom bro. You will probably grow bigger homie. Clearly there is a Spanish audience who like your videos.
content stealing is definitely terrible. But it is important to consider that if you are not filming for an English audience, then you earn 3-10 times less. Because of this, you have to do a lot more videos just to survive. It negatively affects people's creativity

I think it should really be said that any Brazilian or Spanish viewer watching my videos has nothing to apologize for. They don't need to apologize for what someone else is doing just because they're the same nationality or speak the same language, it's on the creators themselves to not copy.

I am conflicted about this. This seems despicable and low effort, but it also seems very similar, if not identical, to a musical cover. Especially if they are re-doing all the work like a few of your examples. I suspect that it would fall under similar legal circumstances, and that's why TH-cam isn't doing anything besides raking in the money about it.
Also, is plagiarism illegal? I know that they make a big deal out of it in school, but is it breaking laws in the US or other places?

While plagiarism is surely a bad thing, it’s important to know that not everyone understands English, at least on a good level. But on the other hand, multilingual content creators seem to be fairly rare, and making a video understandable in multiple languages (or making multiple versions of the same video) is more difficult.
