This song was popular in 1970 if I am not mistaken and that time I was 17 yo. I don't know why suddenly the name of this song strike my mind I search for it on TH-cam and find this. So great after 50 years still can find this on the internet and I am now 67 yo.
sudirman saroji I am now 17 years old and let me tell you you were born at the best times of the world. Have a great day :)
WAIT WHAT
I didn't know that Cristophe had died. It's so sad.
The singer died in April from covid
Now I am crying over my youth days. With my girlfriend we listened french and danced. We could`t speak and understand French but we were HAPPY anyway.
I am studying french as my 3rd language. it's really epic to hear to french songs. I love this song😊❤♥
How'd it go?
Hi . Do you also teach french
@@LardballLuke 😂
If you’re studying French, watch out for the second half of the second verse. “Croire”, “to believe” is misspelled as “coire”.
French is such a blessing to the ears
C'est la plus belle langue au monde, sans équivoque.
Merci.

Aline Cristina I am also called Aline. Like your second name alot, too.

+Aline Cristina i am currently in love with a girl named Aline, but she seems not to love me back because of our age. So this song keeps bringing me sufferance but i can't stop listening to it. Be proud of your name, Aline, because you are certainly as perfect she is.

Et j'ai pleuré, pleuré, oh! j'avais trop de peine
So so emotional.....
Learning French with songs is so exciting.
Yahya A Ibrahim c’est tellement triste
Funny when I first heard the song without subtitles I could hear the guys heart broken. I then found this, read the lyrics and its strange because the emotion he put into this- the beauty of the accompanying band along with its meaning truly transcended the barriers of language. Seldom does a song like this come along, that which renders you almost at a loss for words but this song has pretty much done it. Kudos and thanks for sharing.
so true.. it stab right through your heart
+Ben Dover Christophe is a true poet and his interpretation is always touching even when it's not really just, a real artist.
This song made me cry though I didn't know French. Lol.
Your statement was beautiful and well articulated, just one part is incorrect: it's actually very common for songs to overcome the barrier of language and tell us exactly what they mean, providing we're talking about SONGS, true MUSIC, the first and finest of arts, not noise pollution and sheer garbage, which is unfortunately very common to find nowadays as well.

Au revoir, Christophe. Rest In Peace!
I should have been here before Wes Anderson and the French Dispatch told me to. What a wonderful song.
What a beautiful song!
My name is Alina. I was in my 20's when this tune was top 1 in Honduras. Romantic moments! This singer recorded another original version as well, in Spanish with the exact musical arrangements, same orchestra. Thank you very much for uploading this memorable song.

I first heard this beautifully haunting song when traveling through France in 1965. I bought the record (a 45 RPM) immediately and have listened to the song (now on my headphones) countless times. The music speaks directly a mon coeur. Merci. R.I.P. Christophe.

Merci beacoup !!!

I learned this song in Montreal in the 1960s in French and when I learned the story I wrote an English translation, a little different but stuck to the story line. A great song and singer who disappeared and had alcohol and drug problems. A nice ballad.

Aline" was the first great popular success that made known to the French public "'Christophe" of his real name Daniel Bevilacqua born in 1945 who composed and wrote this song . It was the hit song of the summer of 1965 where the song competed for the head of hits parades and record sales with "Capri c'est fini" by Hervé Vilard.Talented melodist, his collaboration with Jean-Michel Jarre musician renowned for his synthetic music( and son of Maurice Jarre composer of soundtracks of famous Hollywood films like Lawrence of Arabia, Doctor Jivago, Ghost) culminates in the 1970s with superb songs entered into French heritage like "Les mots bleus", ". les paradis perdus Paradise Lost", "Senorita" or "Petite fille du soleil Little Girl of the Sun". He passed away from Covid in April 2020, and people in France were singing on their balconies and windows his songs, including "Aline" in her honour during the lockdown.
His last success was at the beginning of 2020 when he rebuilt one of his songs from 1977, "Daisy", which he performed with the famous French model and actress Laetitia Casta.
It's my favorite french song.....
I'm learning French by listening to this track and others! Merci Beaucoup!

You've done an excellent job!
Hello how are you doing?
That's good
