Oh my word thank you for this!!!! I have been messed up with dystonia for almost 4 years, been trying to retrain my brain for about 7 months now. As I’ve gotten better I started to realize the problem has less to do with my muscles and more to do with my vision being “wrong.” I taped my prescription glasses and INSTANTLY I felt wobbly and then felt my brain start using my neck and eyes together correctly holy smokes. 5 minutes later and I feel my brain breaking apart the kyphosis and scoliosis I’ve been stuck in for years! THANK YOU!!!
This is really helpful for me! I’m writing a character who’s suffering from Post traumatic vision syndrome, and this is probably the easiest-to-comprehend resource video (for the basics of course) I’ve been able to find yet! Thanks!
I got hit directly on my left temple by a 45 lb box and 4 others fell over my neck, shoulder and back, while working for FedEx two years ago. The PA didn’t know what a lucidity was and told me to Google everything. They said my vision was okay but I saw double, felt like I was seeing myself from an outside perspective, If it was dark on the left side I saw darkness out of the right, and the same for light or flashes. I couldn’t open my left eye on it’s own, and when I finally could 1 month later, I could only look at my nose. It was a horrible time, I felt like I had no control over my mind and body and I didn’t want to Google anything. Now outta nowhere I get this video on my feed. So much clarity, thanks so much for this video!
This was so educational. I suffered a severe whiplash. Rear ended at high rate of speed and forced into another car. I'm 21 mo. Post MVA and I am still struggling everyday.
Thanks so much for watching. I'm glad it brought some clarity to you. I too had an injury years ago, and although I suffered for years each day, with the proper knowledge, it is possible to significantly improve physical function and quality of life even if the injury happened long ago. Keep forging forward and don't give up!!
I had a concussion thankfully I survived the hit it was a car accident I had to stay in a hospital for a month and a half it happened when I was 15 and I'm still that age 5 MONTHS from my head injury crazy huh?
Hello my husband was in a car wreck a year ago and I tried to talk to him and he won't look in my eyes always tried to tell them to look I me and he'll look at me for a second and then he will turn the other way how can I help him??
Hi Doctor, thank you for your willingness to share life changing information and advice to people dealing with chronic pain/health anxiety etc. Quick question regarding this video: In the past I've dealt with a about 4-6 head injuries/concussions, one of them being hit in the mouth with a baseball coming at full speed. The last time I recall a head injury was when I was 13-14, I am now 22. It's been a about 2 years dealing with chronic pain. Long story short, I found out about PRI early this year, and recently was referred to an optometrist as a PRI-based therapist believes my visual system is keeping me in my patterned state/with pain. I feel as though the optometrist has failed to address my visual system accordingly seeing as though they prescribed me regular glasses with both sides having the same strength. (not bifocal, no prisms, etc) It's been a few days since I started wearing the prescription glasses, and I feel a bit less tension (maybe placebo?) but overall I still feel the same symptoms I've felt the past couple years. Have you heard of similar instances as this?
Yes I have heard of similar instances. I actually had vision therapy myself with PRI. It is definitely a helpful piece of a larger picture of healthy lifestyle habits and movement.

Hello yes. Treatment is available by neurological optometry. They may use special lenses, binasal occlusion, and visual exercises. Additionally, vestibular therapy or other physical therapy will also typically be done at the same time for the best result. You can check out NORAvisionrehab online. Only drawback is, it is typically not covered by insurance. Hope that is helpful!
hello sir i have visual midline shift syndrome i never had a brain injury or car accident - does this mean i should do a brain scan? also what do you mean the yoked prism should be facing the affected side , i have been prescribed with vertical prisms while i see the floor tilted ( higher on the right side ) thank you 🙏
Brain scan not necessary. People can often benefit from prism lenses in the absence of brain injury or car accident. Vertical prisms are good too, as they can help bring the floor up! Keep working with your optometrist, sounds like they are doing a great job!

Good to know, writing about these things helps to improve people's understanding of the subtle and invisible effects of brain injury.
