Nice John Barry vibes in that piece. The Close Ribbons have always been my preferred choice over the Close mics in Sable as they just take a bit of the edge off the sound and make it more chocolatey.
Congratulations 🎊🍾🎉🎈 new composers from Spitfire....you amazing composers and very talented as well. A new John Williams in the making. God Bless young man!!!
Awesome tips. Very young and very talented man. The composition is a little derivative of one of the main themes from “Lost”, which, in turn, is derivative of something else, I know... Not a complain.
Subtle but effective. It's def the extra 1% that separates ok tracks from exceptional. Can get lost being overly creative and turn it into 99% of the work to do that polish tho lol. Nuanced variation seems to be vital in achieving to break from that overly computer / synthetic sound and move closer toward organic sound that resemblez what most identify as musical. Little pitch changes and expression controls etc don't actually turn a piece into something identical to "traditional" instruments but are enough to trick our ears into believing. Minor fluctuations to add back the human imperfection - ie; humanization
I’m having some issues getting spitfire active in pro tools. I’m using an m1 Mac. I’m also new to recording. I saw I had to set the app to open in Rosetta mode. Still cannot seem to make it work in pro tools. Any ideas??
Why don't you make SSO for those of us who continue to write in notation - ie: Sibelius, Finale etc rather than just busking a few colored lines on a screen ?
Ooh.. interesting idea. It would be nice to at least have a notation overlay on the screen somehow. The logic screen capture is getting very very boring
This composition is incredible. I love how it progresses into the dark chords in the middle and returns home at the end.
Congratulations on joining spritfrie Dan!
Of course Dan got hired by Spitfire! Congrats!! Thank you for all your tutorials and the ones coming up ;)
Absolutely exquisite Dan and Spitfire.🙌🏼
Thanks Dan.
Great work Dan! I love the general tone achieved here, perhaps best described as a blend of 'Britishness' and 'Woody'.
Nice one Dan well done, some really good tips thanks. Take care be safe and healthy
Always look forward to these types of videos! Awesome 👏🏼
Complete natural. All the best
Well, you got some tears out of me.
Fantastic Dan! Great that you work at Spitfire now.
Nice composition and helpful walk-through - thanks!
Amazing. Just amazing. Thanks for sharing this with us, Dan.
Gorgeous music as always Dan

Nice composition. It reminds me Mascagni's composition style.
Loved the music. Can’t really relate to having a live recording and adding sampled strings. Maybe in the future.

Stunning as always Dan, really useful.. You lexicon is awesome also, great to follow.

Excellent work Dan.
Nice one Dan great tips

AMAZING!
Mahalo from O’ahu!
Total Real....congrats...waiting one Ethnic World Library
Fantastic composition Dan. Makes me kinda want to give up in despair 😀
This sounds so great. I couldn't find a sound as good when it's free VST...
Hey Dan, would love to get a tutorial of how you set up those mic buses so that each of the Live parts were affected? Great stuff man.
I'll do this on my own channel, thanks for the suggestion!
Yes, please. Tip no. 3 went right over my head 😁
Awesome Work ✌️
Dan, great idea with the EQ at 12KHz for the extra parts. I really like the idea of the compressor side chained a well.
Yes this is truly amazing 👏thanks for sharing
Aha! So basically the more unrealistic you go the more realistic it sounds xD
Cinematic? maybe. Realistic? not at all.
@@markbarnes4306 Nothing's real in showbiz! 😜
@@DanKeenMusic Thats why they call it "Show" Business
this music is created and assembled by a human or some ultra highly advanced alien species?? 😮😮❤❤❤
Good stuff.
I'd love to get that template, not sure how I'd go about bussing out various mics
Very nice!
Any possibility of sharing the Logic file for closer study?
They never do that. Rather suspicious.
@@storiesreadaloud5635 Suspicious? What are you getting at?
@@storiesreadaloud5635 why should they? >.>

I was hoping for some comment on the fluid tempo changes throughout the piece. Would be great to understand the reason and the technique.

Great tips but I think the string shorts are niche today in cinematic music.
Im trying hard to NOT include an staccato pattern...
Will these techniques work with the free versions of labs?
Nice little track. Are you sending those mics to an additional reverb? Or is this just the sound of SSSP?

On. A. Different. Planet.
Spitfire es lo mejor! hay alguna manera de que compartan el proyecto de logic?? pd: suenan genial!!
Excellent demonstration. Please balance the level of your VO and music.
You do honor to the king, sir. May your music always be sweet to the ear and fat to your wallet.
The "dynamic waves" feel unnatural. The volume swells sound like production habits to me rather than musically induced... "just use the modwheel more"

Studio One 5
Is it me or the audio quality of the track is REALLY below the standard?
Could you speak a little slower?
I'm just so excited!
@@DanKeenMusic Lol how long have you had the job at Spitfire? Great to see you in this vid!
