I loved watching this series. My husband and I visited Edinburgh May 2018. I was enchanted by the closes! We paid to see Mary Kings close and really enjoyed it. We would love to visit again!!!

Brilliant series of all the closes along the Royal Mile, Tony. After all the walking, trodding all the steps, and the fine work you put in to these videos, you deserve to pop in to a pub for a few pints or drams. Well Done.

Wonderful series Tony! A little exploring pays off in finding treasures like the old architecture. Though I enjoy exploring Philadelphia Pennsylvania, it's is an upstart compared to Edinburgh. I'm looking forward to visiting the closes in the future along with hiking up to the breathtaking Salisbury Crags. Really love your videos as they're so much more personal than the usual travelogs.

Whitehorse Close - so when you turn into it from The Royal Mile, turn left into the first stair and my aunt lived on the top floor...way before the renovations...I am 72 now but I would guess I was 6 or so then. I remember sleeping on the floor whenever I visited with my uncle and waking up in the night seeing the mice running around. Not one of my favorite memory recalls.

Yay! 👏🏼 you've made it all the way down and back again!! These were the closes that my family and I went down most since we stayed in the old Brewery building just across the street from Campbell's close end. (where the red car was pulling in at about 3:33) There's a really neat old cottage apt there. I loved seeing all the old buildings, cobble streets and alley ways every morning as we made our way up that cobbled pathway to the Royal Mile. I love your city and can't wait to get back there one day! Keep up the great videos as always!!👍🏼

Hi, Tony. We've been binge watching your videos getting ready for our visit in May. Really enjoyed the closes.
The missus would love to see a video on graveyards. We saw some of Calton Hill and most of St. Cuthbert's last visit. We'll be sure to get to Greyfriars' this time. Are there any "must see's"?

truthfully you can't movie in Edinburgh for graveyards. The new Calton grave yard (or burial ground), Old cartoon graveyard, St cuthberts at the west end of Princes Street, Canon gate church on the royal mile and of course Greayfriars are all in close proximity to each other.

Hi again Tony doing good. This is just a guess but the curved road thing in coopers close I think is where carts would have been pulled round a loading station for barrels and that the close is named for barrels makers "coopers " . I hope I am right but it makes sense dary yards have a curve just like it in.

Another of your brilliant videos which i love to see, at the beginning when you were standing outside Canongate Kirk , i thought it would make a fascination video of folks that are famous in Edinburgh , and what cemetaries they are buried in . Canongate for an example has Adam Smith who is very well known in the banking system buried there and other folks also , just a thought . Duncan Pitkeathly .

Great series! I'm sure I'll rewatch these loads. I know the graffiti kind of takes something away for you. I'm not a fan either. It has a place, yes, but I dont agree it should be in these beautiful old buildings. Did you hear there was a rumor that Bansky did a painting in Edinburgh over the past week I think. I'm pretty sure it wasn't the real deal but got my curiosity level up lol. It was a girl with a phone.
