The global outage was not Microsoft fault. The root cause is a bug introduced by another company called "Crowdstrike". Its basically an cybersecurity company.

Sir, this outage is because of the Crowdstrike update. They had provided a patch which had a bug in it. And since this patch runs at kennel mode with a bug in it the Windows displayed BSOD. For security reasons the Organizations install for Spyware monitoring. Microsoft didn't auto install it.
This could have happened with any OS.
I completely agree with your point on making India's own indigenous OS and our focus should be not only on the OS but also on the supporting hardware, drivers and the system Softwares as well.

This is also required because we're lagging behind in this race with China as they have constituted a cyber army and we do not even have the foundational requirements. Business disruption suffered by anybody due to electronic outage is their fault , no electronic system is beyond fault. "High Availability" design is necessary for any application. It has to be assumed that any system can fail eventually but it should have a backup system to support the outage ,even if it may be at low capacity.

Sir I'm Cybersecurity Engineer, the outage is not because of Microsoft. It's because of crowd-strike Antivirus, Crowstrike is it's own company by itself. The update to the crowd-strike caused windows BSOD.
Hey i also agree with you. It was an unfortunately a mistake by Crowdstrike company due to their code patches they pushed.
Question is -- should Indian not atleast try create its an OS. It dpesnt have to very huge, but maybe a small, prototype project which can be at least used by some people like students, teachers, small business who can not pay much amount for the Windows license.
Maybe we should both - use Windows as well as create own as well.
