    The best Lenormand explanation so far, straight and crystal clear. Thank you very much

    Hi Georgina!
    I thought a couple of years ago I read that you weren’t going to use this platform anymore?! I searched for you and I think there was only like two videos on there.. so I stopped looking. Then today I decided to look again and here you are! Were you ever gone or could I just not locate you?

      UPDATE (3/3/24): Alas, Vimeo was not a good fit for my content. I’m back on TH-cam for the time being.
      ------------
      I was off the platform for a year, but many of my issues with TH-cam’s policies were revised and changed to something I could accept. But in the meantime, I built a channel on Vimeo. The great thing about Vimeo is that there are NO ADS! ❤️ And I upload videos early there. (Some videos are Vimeo exclusives.)

    Love Lenormand & your instruction! Question: You refer to a "significator" card; I must have missed that lesson. Is this a card you pull from the deck & set aside to represent the querent?

    • @georginatoland
      @georginatoland  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      A Lenormand significator card is treated differently from those in Tarot. It is never removed from the deck, but allowed to appear (if it wills) in the body of a spread. Cards nearby wherever the significator appears are considered "close" and have a different meaning than if they appear "far" away from the significator card.

    I love lenormand, it’s the only style I really use/ have used. My gf and I like to joke that I like it bc I’m autistic and it’s a straightforward style of reading 😅😂

      @@georginatoland but the two books you mention are the ones you recommend? Or are there newer ones?

      Those are only ones. Boroveshengra’s book and the 3 volumes of Bjorn Meuris’ Encyclopedia.

      There are many systems that use ordinary playing cards. Lenormand uses some, but not all, of a deck of 52 playing cards. Some people use the meanings of the Tarot’s Minor Arcana with regular playing cards. (I do this frequently.) And then there is the Vera Sibilla, which uses the entire deck of playing cards. I have just begun a series on that system. You can see it here:

      There is also Skat cards and Spanish cards…but I am not knowledgeable enough to teach those systems.

    It's funny, but I have a lot more difficulty with Lenormand than with Tarot! 😅

    • @georginatoland
      @georginatoland  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      You are not alone in that! The strict rules for reading Lenormand cards usually trip up long-time readers of Tarot. I struggled at the beginning, as did my fellow Tarot reader friend Fred. But we persevered and now we both teach Lenormand. ♥️

  • @vorthora

    But truth be told, I prefer smaller cards like my Rider Waite or Bluebird Lenormand than oracle cards. Why do they have to make them so darn large? I've got tiny hands.

    • @georginatoland
      @georginatoland  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I’m right with ya there! Many Oracle decks have huge borders, too. Like why?!??

    • @vorthora
      @vorthora 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@georginatoland Yeah! They're so hard to shuffle! The only way I shuffle to my taste is dividing deck into 2, and putting one stack vertically on top of the other. Never side shuffling.
