Do you know why you are only getting 5 amps to your batteries? You should be able to easily recharge fully while motoring and using your fridge. I would see if a separate heavy fused and probably regulated wire to your trailer batts could work. I use propane over night for heat and fridge It seems to last a long time.
How long does one of your 20lbs of propane last you guys? We just burned through a 30lb at J Tree, but we were using our heater a lot. Seemed a bit fast to me!
Been RV’ing my whole life (50+ years) frig on propane even when traveling except when plugged in. With no furnace the 30lb tanks last months. Ordered the 12volt frig in our 2020 Jayco that Thor decided to cancel the build on after 9 months of stringing us along. Ended up buying a 2021 Winnebago 2831RB with the double door 12 cf propane/electric frig. The large size pushes the absorption technology. Still wish we had the 10cf 12v compressor fridge!
Just a observation, I have a similar rig with 40 gallon gray and black tanks. The gray tank will fill up very quickly even if you limit showers. We use a plastic basin in the sink and pour the water into the toilet after dishes to spread the water more evenly between the tanks especially if you cook a lot.
The fridge in our ORV 20FQ sips propane. It really doesn't use much at all. Propane fridges are really efficient! Use it and you'll see.. you don't need a 12 volt!
i am not sure why you are opposed to using propane for that fridge. it is designed for it. when boondocking for months at at time and driving down the road we do run our propane to keep the fridge running. we also have a large inverter/solar system that helps that out. good luck with all your adjustments, safe travels.
I got an iPad Air several years ago for free when buying an iPhone 6, but didn’t find it to be very functional as a replacement for a Windows laptop …… until I attached an external keyboard to it. That transformed the iPad into kind of a hybrid laptop ….. with benefits. I synced it up with the iPhone so it acts as just a large iPhone. With it I can make and receive phone calls, and since it is cellular then my lady can surf the net while we’re rolling don the highway. My latest iPad/iPhone configuration is an iPad 9.7” and an iPhone XS. Most of the people I interact with have iOS devices. iOS is bullet-proof and Apple’s technical support is second to none.
Look at a DC to DC charger Victron or Renogy and run some larger #2 cables from your alternator/battery to an Anderson connectors and on to your trailer and batteries. You can charge the batteries while you drive.
Great video, enjoy your posts. We have a similar rig - 24RLS Titanium with 600 A/hr BB batteries and Victron inverter. Also upgraded to the 12V fridge - huge improvement! A couple of comments: those X-Chock style chocks are not sufficient alone so be careful about that; a DC-DC charger is essential for a battery bank that large, especially if you want to avoid plugging in to charge while on the road; the most solar you can get on the roof is ~1000W which is not enough alone for your big battery bank - you will want to add DC-DC charger and maybe an external 200W solar panel depending on your style; you don't really need a generator unless you plan on doing a lot of winter camping or plan on using the AC on batteries often; a soft-start is a good add on, esp if you want to run AC on batteries. As for tank usage boondocking: outdoor showers save a ton of gray tank space; wiping down dishes thoroughly with paper towels saves a lot of dishwater; not putting toilet paper in the black tank saves space as well as helping keep tank sensors working (we use all the TP we want and put it in brown paper lunch bags that then go in the trash).
“ This is the type of beauty I love to see.” Big close up of the wife and the scenery in the background. It’s beautiful and the landscape ain’t bad either. ❤️ You guys are AWSOME! Thank you so much for all your videos. I treasure them and can’t wait to one day get on the road. God Bless.
Also recommend check with Battleborn re: charging from truck alternator. I would second the suggestion of getting 2000W generator and put a soft start on your A.C.. You will be happy you did in summer - no matter where you are!
Hi…my wife and I also have a 22FQS which we pull with an F350. We boondock almost exclusively and some places are definitely nicer than others. I also look for trash, empty beer cans collocated with empty shell casings, etc. when choosing a spot for the night. One thing you might consider….I generally will never disconnect the trailer when boondocking. You never know when you might need to make a quick exit. Just a thought. Be careful and take care.
I loved the shot of how big your new rig is when you put the slide out. After the tent for months, and the interstate for years, it must seem like a palace!
You should not use the wheel xchocks before leveling your rv! Possibility of putting unwanted stress on tires and suspension! Also no t meant to use alone without proper wheel chocks! Can pick up at harbor freight relatively cheap!
That's good to know. I tried reading and researching about that I thought most said you can use the x chocks as wheel chocks.....but they don't really fit our tires so I should just get 4 of the standard chocks.
That evaporator style frig uses heat to work that's how it runs on propane. When you run it on 110v it uses electric heat and has a constant draw on the power source.
I have a 2021 Nash 22h that I full time in. I spent 15K having 400 amps of BB Lithium batteries, 820 watts of solar and a 3,000 watt inverter installed and spent months finding someone to correct the mess the first company made of the install. Now that its working properly I have learned of its short coming. recently I experienced several days of heavy cloud cover and finally had to break out the Honda 2200. What I learned is that solar and Lithium are great but a good old fossil fuel generator is a must for a backup.
If you don't have a fridge fan it helps. Also leave a gap on the inside walld of the fridge which helps with cooling to allow cold air to circulate with a fan on. Just to help. Like your trailer, and love desert also. Take care.
Y'all need a.DC to DC charger for the truck it can change the battery bank a lot faster that's what we use with our battle borns works great with a small solar
Great video you guys seem to be getting into the swing of things. I second this idea. With the dual batteries in your truck with the diesel I would get a DC/DC charger to help charge faster when driving and you could also plug the truck in and run it to charge the batteries in a pinch if needed when parked until you get your solar setup. I am currently working out my system for my install when I get my trailer and have included this as one of the first items on my list. Hoping you have a video soon on a your inverter install. Very curious on how you did that.
I have 300 watts on roof and it’s awesome. You easily can get enough amps for boondocks. Anyway you go to deferent electric regimen . Have fun I cannot wait to get out rainy cold Seattle.
We still prefer our 2 way fridge. It uses very little propane and stays extremely cold without phasing our lithium batteries. If you had it cold to start from the RV park, you would have seen a big difference in your power usage. We rarely use our inverter, only for charging cameras, computers, and bike batteries, and an occasional appliance. The truck won't do much for charging, but once you get the proper solar panels, you'll be fine. Love those skies! We'll be out West again in a couple weeks. Can't wait!
If you ever get the chance, stop by the Saguaro National Park. There is an eastern portion and a western portion, and each have humungous cacti. As I may have mentioned before, as you hike past them they seem to whisper at you.
Adding a DC to DC charger can help you arrive with a full battery bank after a short drive day. You could also set it up so a ground deployed suitcase panel can plug into the DC-DC plug after parking for some extra electricity.
I would just pick up a inexpensive portable inverter/gen to keep the Li's full and the fridge running until you get a 12V compressor fridge......if it was me......it wouldn't be very long for that to happen. Plus a small portable Inv/Gen is just a handy thing to have........redundant power source :)
Hi y'all, rig setup looks good, home base and ready to overland as well. Oh the envy, envy, envy. Just a tip I've heard, travel with dinette table in bed mode so to not stress legs, make your table wobbly. Take Care, safe travels
Another interesting video . Aww that sunset total awesome. Doing all the those things to settle down in one spot was interesting. Inside looks and feels like home . Thank you for sharing this charming video with me . BS & BK
It's a f350! Length on the trailer means little.... truck weighs 8k and the trailer weighs around 9k. Most recommend a WDH at 50% of your trucks weight....
Found you all from Tails of Wanderlust. Thanks for taking the time to share your setup. I'm subbed. Just bought a Vorsheer XOC to tow being my Tacoma and I will be full timing this time next year. Looking forward to getting up to speed on your channel. ✌🏻
Sunset was so beautiful! We love the saguaro too! We think the 12 volt refrigerator is better than the propane. I know you will be glad to get yours installed.
Aren't AZ sunsets just the BEST!! Of course I love everything about my state 😊. I really appreciate how much Aaron gushes about AZ 😂 "The desert definitely has something special about her". oh, and... you can't believe everything you "hear" on the interwebs.... its pronounced Ocateeyo. Have you seen them in bloom? Happy Boondocking!!
The Az, NM ,Ut, sunsets are spectacular!! Fyi..... xtra 20lb propane tank, 5 gallon gas can, small inverter generator, 2000 watts or so. All can stow in the p/u bed. Only use when you need. PS they come in handy , get some more solar panels also 90watts just wont cut it boondockin
regarding the fridge, our last rig had a 12 volt compressor fridge, I did like it with the Lithium/Multiplus/solar, our new rig has a fridge like yours, I run the propane when parked without electrical hookups, I dont worry much about not running it when driving, it stays pretty cold. Im a bit torn, I think I would prefer the 12 volt again having 630 ah of lithium and 1200 watts on the roof, but I struggle to spend almost a grand replacing a perfectly good fridge that in my case matches the cabinet colors
I hear ya....it's too bad you don't sometimes get the option to just get a 12 volt from the factory. No holes in the roof and side wall is important to me.... It's proving pretty difficult to sell ours and we'll obviously not get full price for it. But, I always loved having our 12 volt fridge in the van....always on...always perfect temp... and no worries. Thanks for sharing.
I have the exact same tire chucks, and a 2019 24 RLS ORV. I have to make sure the trailer is completely straight in line with the truck before both chucks will fit in both sides. Even the slightest angle and one side won’t fit. You probably already figured that out but if you haven’t, there you go
We boondock in the same basic area and move around east from there. Like yourselves we really like the area and the space. We spent a few days at the same park in Cottonwood. They had just opened as a new park about 2 years ago when the "virus" first hit. It had rained for the week before so the ground was soft and not enough compacted rock. Our trailer sunk about 4"-5" and we had to dig out when we left. One of the park attendants helped. She may be petite (very heavy Texas accent) but could really swing a shovel.
I think you would find an Equalizer hitch easier especially for off road sites. We have used ours in very uneven sites in state and national parks and you have those big bars to use as leverage when unhitching. Also I try to get truck and trailer in same "plane" with boards or levelers. Even if they are both unlevel it is easier to unhitch and hitch up that way. Nice videos! Congrats on new rig!
We have 2 of those "x" style chocks that pinch between the wheels to stop it from rolling. They are working out ok, but are a little small and we might have to go to the traditional ones!
@@IreneIronTravels We use both the black rubber ones mentioned below by @Celestial and X chocks on our 22FQS. I've found with the auto leveling, the suspension relaxes when it goes up and the tires can spread slightly, so, if I X chock first, they come loose during auto leveling. I now use the rubber chocks first, auto level, then X chock. I reverse this during take down. probably overkill, but I have them both, so ... :-) And I'll add, auto level is the bomb. I love it. So easy. Just make sure you are fairly level side-to-side first or it can and will lift the tires completely off the ground on the low side. 😬
Great to see you 2 safe & happy & oh the beautiful AZ views!!! I lived out there on temporary nursing assignments from 1997-2007 I sure miss it~ Makes me wanna depart Pennsyltucky & get a rig & enJOY 😁👍🙏❤️💃🎶oh and by the way the music was absolutely spot on perfect! My soul bathed it all in 👍❤️🔥💥🎶💃😁🙏🙏🙏
I’ve got 400 amps of Battle Born’s and 840 watts of solar so on sunny days I have no problem traveling using the inverter but not so good on cloudy rainy days. Not good for overnight either. My fridge pulls 330 watts and probably averages a 75% duty cycle.
Just watched your vid, very cool. It appears are Off-Grid setup approach is very similar. Just subscribed, and look forward to future releases. We are heading to Big Bend areas in TX next month, as we make our way to SE Arizona. Best of luck folks, and thanks for sharing. FYI, our setup uses the Victron Multi II, with SOK 206's...
You’re going to love the Wusthof knives! I upgraded my kitchen knives a few months ago and was blown away by how sharp they are. Have fun stocking your kitchen!
Been watching you two for a year and you inspired my wife and I to purchase a new truck and trailer almost identical to your F350 ORV combo for 3 season part time travel. I have two questions for either of you about the total truck trailer length and brand of tow vehicle and trailer. #1 - Have you ever wished to have gone shorter or longer in total length (49 - 50') of your combo given potential parking constraints or campground size restrictions? #2 - Have you been satisfied with your choice of tow vehicle brand and trailer brand, would you change either of those choices now after living with both for awhile? Thanks much, D Lee
Great video - I love how excited you both are! We call the fact that Google map says the trip is 3 hours and it is actually 5 the “travel trailer time warp”! I’m so happy you finally got your knives! Whoohoo! Bunches of love Noelle
Hey Guys. You look so happy in this video. That AZ sunset is so beautiful. When are you going to be in CA? Where you planning to hang out. I highly recommend check out some of the beach RV spot. We've been having 70 degrees this week. And yes, we do and can go to the beach in December. If you're going to be in the Los Angeles area. Lmk! I'd love to meet up and recommend places to see. Safe travel! Oh, BTW stay away from San Francisco! Not a safe place .
Glad to see this vid; Digging the lithium and the Wyz cams; Wife is already checking it out. That screen protector, Irene thanks for showing us application. i've been to similar area just not into deserts lol I mean it's nice. But I'm into forestry & mountains. But hey I get it where the road takes you. Regardless where you guys go i lol God Bless ..
Hello Chris and Aaron. All of this video is awesome! I am sooo happy you have a bigger rig….and with its lifted features, you still will be able to get deeper into the back country, Yes! AZ is really an incredible place! I feel your pull to it, Aaron. When we lived in CO previously, back in the early 90s, we were going to the desert very frequently. Mostly UT, which did not have the Saguaro cacti…..but still awesome. Someone gave me Edward Abbey’s “ Desert Solitaire” book in the 80s, and I have read it many many times. Can’t wait to see how you two continue to equip your rig! I will be taking close notes! Dang it….all of those things that we overlook when heading out to boondock. I hadn’t put any thought into the power it takes to use the level jacks and tongue jack. That is mainly due to our previous camper was a 34 footer total length….and we exclusively camped in campgrounds on the east coast. Arrive to the site…plug it in….and deploy and operate everything off of shore power! Chris…that is an awesome find for the screen protector! Safe travels!
Thanks! We have only been towing since September of this year and about 1500 miles I think. Really like the Andersen so for! Easy to use, light and works well for our setup.
We are new to rv’ng and have been subscribers to your channel for a long time escaping the realities of COVID - thank you so much. My wife and I love your style - a class act. We, too, chose the Anderson WD hitch and absolutely love it. The key is to check that your trailer and tow vehicle is aligned by sighting through mirrors. Raising the Jack higher if chains are tight to loosen is the other thing. You don’t have to be perfect. . You covered leveling your new trailer. When you leveled your Springer, how perfect did you need to be? Do I have to have the bubble centered (to plumb) line? How close to centered bubble is good enough? Thank you for your response.
Thanks for watching, appreciate it! And welcome to Rving! 😊 The van was very forgiving for level and we just tried to be touching the inner bubble. We didn't even use level blocks for the first year! We did a video on it a ways back th-cam.com/video/e7K_YnYBS7M/w-d-xo.html
Will the tent eventually come off? Very happy for you guys. It's exciting to see how happy the two of you are in your new home. Thanks for sharing your joy with all of us.
Your videos are the only ones I look for each Sunday and feel like I missed something when you don't post until later in the week. I enjoy the two of you and your positive outlook on things. I'm glad you have the space, but with each video so far, still find myself glad I'm staying with my Class B. The lack of mobility, risks of incident when pulling, added set up time, inability to access things while driving, and less vehicle charging of the trailer batteries while driving still have me a die hard for the smaller Class B. I'll keep watching. It will be interesting to see where you end up with solar. I have 1100 Watts on my Class B by being able to slide them out when boon-docking...with 800 Watts available all the time. I'm guessing you will have more
Thanks Jeff! Yes, all very valid points for the class B and the same that drew us to our van as well! Impressive solar set up you hav eon your van! So far the most we can put up on our RV ( without slides) is 1200 watts. We only had 300 watts in our van so 4x sounds pretty good!
Love to see your journey! Thanks for sharing. Curious why you are not wanting to use the propane refrigerator? We boondock almost all the time and have run the propane fridge for weeks and not run out of propane. Our ORV has two 30# tanks and they last a long time - even when running some heat. One 170W solar panel and 2 regular deep cycle 12V batteries and we rairly run our 2000W Yamaha generator.
Thanks for watching! We've always had a 12v compressor fridge and loved the efficiency, performance, and no worries with it always on and running. No frozen veggies or spoiled meat. The norcold is freezing our eggs now! We like the idea of converting everything to electric and running off of solar. It is nice to have those 30lb tanks though! 😀
It was nice meeting you guys last week. Thanks for a tip on a site near Quartzsite to try out. We are headed that way Jan- Feb. Gotta use that solar on our Solitude. Safe travels guys!
Lived many years in Yuma, AZ not far from where you are camping…lots of great Mexican restaurants down there…need to check out Chili Peppers and Monster Taco!! Just curious why you weren’t using your frig? They barely take any LP. If you’re boondocking keep your frig on LP all the time and you’ll be fine.
That's for the reco's! LP fridges are efficient for sure, but with the electrical system we have a DC fridge will be able to run 24/7 without worries. Save the propane for heating and cooking and safe a few trips throughout the year. We also feel the compressor fridges cool more efficient and evenly....so you don't get frozen veg or spoiled meat. Recently our RV fridge has been freezing our eggs!
I’m with you when it comes to AZ. We’re wintering here ourselves right now, and we love it. We will be spending time near the Saguaro national forest in the next few months and can’t wait! Love your setup - looks like it will suit your needs perfectly for the time being. We used propane RV fridges for years and have had no issues with them, and I actually wanted one in our current RV in order to extend boondocking stays, but ours came with a residential fridge which will only last overnight on the batteries b4 we have to start the generator. Love the fridge itself as long as we have electric hookups & works fine off inverter traveling down the road w/o draining batteries. But so much for simple boondocking w/o a generator, which we haven’t done yet since we just got it end of summer. Not sure what the solution will be; perhaps lots of solar. Or even changing out to propane fridge since we already have a huge propane tank. Safe travels!
Fun! We loved Saguaro National Park and that southern area! Yeah I hear it takes a lot to run the large residential fridges for sure. We have friends that have one with 600 amps of lithium and about 1800 watts of solar. No problems in sun of course, but overnight it puts a dent in the batteries but are back up to full before noon. Cloudy weather can be a problem!
We didn't go to the winery! But it looked really nice and we are kicking ourselves for not going!. We did Sedona this year and Jerome last year... Pretty cool town on the hill!
I feel your happiness you guys and this is awesome. It must’ve been miserable waiting to get your rig set up. Can’t wait to see the solar go in and it’s going to be a game changer for you guys.
Was that Verde Valley Thousand Trails you were leaving at the start of your video? Loved that place! Love your videos, thank you for sharing your beautiful adventures.
It has a free option which gives you 12 seconds of video and you can save to a memory card as well. The bad thing about the free version is it only records 12 secs and then waits 5 minutes to record again. But you can log on and see the live feed at any time. The paid subscription is like a $1.66 a month and gives you unlimited recording and also better detection and settings. I have one camera paid and one not, but will upgrade the second as well.....pretty cheap.
@@IreneIronTravels On the Sunday prior to Thanksgiving we lost the passenger side wheel, the crown nut was welled to the spindle and the axel was flat on the bottom. The trailer did not sway during the incident, the brake drum was broken in several spots and no bearings were found. While hooking up keep the wheel wells on the truck within 1 inch of the pre hookup using a hydraulic jack.
Check out saddle mountain im in sun city we like it during the week , weekend gets busy , don't worry about the size, we have a 2001 dodge 2500 5.9 and a 28 ish foot trailer and love it boondocking in Arizona is GREAT.
So far so good. Travels nice and very little movement. You're right spare in the truck. Not too happy about that as it takes up a good chunk of the bed. I thought I might be able to put it behind the propane tanks on the tounge where the batteries were, but it doesn't fit. Maybe a under frame carrier will be in our future...... but ya everything is working out great so far.
Hi Aaron. Do you plan to do a video on your electrical upgrade? We also have a 22FQS and will be doing a similar electrical upgrade. The challenging part will be running the AC wires from the inverter to the AC distribution area. Any insight from your experience would be well appreciated.
Hey Jeff! Yes, I will be doing a 3 part video on the install, batteries, inverter, and solar. It took me about 2 days to find the routing for the AC wires! I used this marine AC wire..about 60ft or so. amzn.to/3prVzQ7. I ran the wires from under the bed through the hole for the auto level system into the under belly. Then I ran the wires through the underbelly by the frame on the slide side (right next to the auto level wires). It got tricky close to the AC breaker box because the tanks are there and I had to drill a hole under the fridge, behind the breaker box to get access to the under belly. It took about a week to do the inverter install being slow and carful...... I'll working on the electrical videos very soon!
@@IreneIronTravels Thanks for the quick response! I will be looking forward to those videos! Did you have to cut several access spots in the cloropast to guide you? BTW, there are several people on the Facebook Outdoors RV Owners groups asking the same question so be sure to post links to your videos there also.
The coroplast is bolted on and came loose niclely on the one side until you get to the propane lines blocking it by the tires and fridge. I did have to cut alittle there
Yeah that would be nice. They are definitely not our first choice if we were picking them out. We'd prefer a pure white or something with that light gray. This tan is as light as ORV gets though! 🤣
Aaron I am very confused about your solar electrical issue. If planning to be solar dependant, wouldn't you determine what your existing appliances and electrical needs ARE so to first determine how much solar battery bank and panels needed to supply your electrical needs will be and for how long? Even to adding a under hood generator to charge will going down the road ? I would have thought you would have taken all this into account prior to purchasing a RV?
Hey there. Yes, you're right, the best practice is to do a power audit and see your exact electrical consumption and build from there. We lived with 400 amps of lithium and 300 watts of solar on our van for 2.5 years and were pretty much able to live independent from generator or shore power....minus all of the "big" power draws like the air condition, electric water heater, etc. Our new vision is to be able to run the big appliances this time and even use the AC when we get caught in heat waves. Only being a 26ft trailer (which we wanted to stay small) we can only fit about 1200 watts max and that is why we oversized the battery bank.
😁 Thanks for watching!!

Best time to travel and aahhh time in Arizona is early morning the cool air and sun over the cactus doesn't get any better
You guys are AWSOME! Thank you so much for all your videos. I treasure them and can’t wait to one day get on the road. God Bless.
If you join your local Elks, you can visit and stay in there parking lot, get fresh water. Some Elks have full camper hook ups. Great People.
Hey Steve, thanks for the comment, appreciate it!
No problem, safe travels ! Enjoy your content! Looks like you are enjoying the new rv!
That evaporator style frig uses heat to work that's how it runs on propane. When you run it on 110v it uses electric heat and has a constant draw on the power source.
Just use the propane. Been doing it for 48 years now. Just be smart about it don’t pull it up next to the gas pump.
Look into Redarc dc to dc charger. It will charge your batteries way faster while driving and you could hook it up to solar.
I have 300 watts on roof and it’s awesome. You easily can get enough amps for boondocks. Anyway you go to deferent electric regimen . Have fun I cannot wait to get out rainy cold Seattle.
The boondocking spot was awesome. Yeah, we don’t really do RV parks. Sites are usually way too close to each other.
Thanks Garret !
We did get a chance to go there last year....so great! Yes, the whispering wind through the spines is magical!
Adding a DC to DC charger can help you arrive with a full battery bank after a short drive day. You could also set it up so a ground deployed suitcase panel can plug into the DC-DC plug after parking for some extra electricity.
You going to love that travel trailer. I've had my 2018 outdoors rv 20fq for 3 1/2 years and I have no complaints. I am very happy with it.
Good to hear! Thanks😊
Thanks for the tip Bill, makes sense 👍
The RV cooler don't use that much propane. But your RV furnace's Does.
Another interesting video . Aww that sunset total awesome. Doing all the those things to settle down in one spot was interesting. Inside looks and feels like home . Thank you for sharing this charming video with me . BS & BK
Glad you enjoyed it, thanks Larry!! BS & BK! 😊
F250 Heavy Duty with a 26 foot travel trailer does not a equalizer or distributing hitch! Ditch the Anderson and it’ll tow better!!
Hey 👋 thanks! Early congrats on going full time next year! Sounds like you’re gonna have quite the nice off road setup!
Sunset was so beautiful! We love the saguaro too! We think the 12 volt refrigerator is better than the propane. I know you will be glad to get yours installed.
Thank you Joyce! 🤗
Love these types of video, day in the life and the comparison of rv park to boondocking. Can’t wait for part 2
We have a 8 cu ft furrion 12v refrigerator and we are using one GC3 battery with solar and have had plenty of power. Like the music 🎶
Nice, good to know thanks!
Backdrop for The Hills Have Eyes 5
Aren't AZ sunsets just the BEST!! Of course I love everything about my state 😊. I really appreciate how much Aaron gushes about AZ 😂 "The desert definitely has something special about her". oh, and... you can't believe everything you "hear" on the interwebs.... its pronounced Ocateeyo. Have you seen them in bloom? Happy Boondocking!!
We did get to see them in bloom last year! Amazing! Thanks!!
Thanks Greg!
regarding the fridge, our last rig had a 12 volt compressor fridge, I did like it with the Lithium/Multiplus/solar, our new rig has a fridge like yours, I run the propane when parked without electrical hookups, I dont worry much about not running it when driving, it stays pretty cold.
Loved the time lapse sunset!! Your videos just keep getting better and I'm loving your new camper ❤
Awww thanks Shelley! 😊
Great sunset, great background music and great to see you guys happy with the new space! Enjoy.
Thanks Michael! 😊
What an awesome adventure 😍. Makes me smile to ponder how long you can boondock.
Chris you need to get back behind the wheel !!
Thanks Molly! She'll be driving very soon!
You could convert existing fridge to 12 volt. Look up J C refrigeration.
Good tip, thanks!
I have the exact same tire chucks, and a 2019 24 RLS ORV. I have to make sure the trailer is completely straight in line with the truck before both chucks will fit in both sides. Even the slightest angle and one side won’t fit. You probably already figured that out but if you haven’t, there you go
Yes, same here! Very tight fit for sure!
You need to get the f150 hybrid on board generator 7.3 kilo
Another great update ya'll! There will be a ORV meetup at quartz site in January!
Sounds great!
You guys should buy a DC compressor conversion unit from JC refrigeration for the Fridge you have!
I cannot wait till cooking videos begin in that kitchen.
Very soon!😊
I love seeing you in an ORV, I love your model. We have an ORV and in Quartzsite too! We are in love with Arizona also. Thanks for the great video.
I run our fridge on propane on the road too and you should be able too
Where’s the chux behind your wheels. You need that before you disconnect. Always!
We have 2 of those "x" style chocks that pinch between the wheels to stop it from rolling. They are working out ok, but are a little small and we might have to go to the traditional ones!
Get the hefty black rubbery ones from Harbor Freight. You can’t flatten them when you run over them. LOL I would know. They work great.
Thanks Celest, good to know! 🤣
And I'll add, auto level is the bomb. I love it. So easy. Just make sure you are fairly level side-to-side first or it can and will lift the tires completely off the ground on the low side. 😬
Great to see you 2 safe & happy & oh the beautiful AZ views!!!
I lived out there on temporary nursing assignments from 1997-2007
I sure miss it~
Makes me wanna depart Pennsyltucky & get a rig & enJOY 😁👍🙏❤️💃🎶oh and by the way the music was absolutely spot on perfect! My soul bathed it all in 👍❤️🔥💥🎶💃😁🙏🙏🙏
i have a 2019 shadow cruiser 225 that's exactly the same layout
I’ve got 400 amps of Battle Born’s and 840 watts of solar so on sunny days I have no problem traveling using the inverter but not so good on cloudy rainy days. Not good for overnight either. My fridge pulls 330 watts and probably averages a 75% duty cycle.
Good to know, thanks! That is a pretty good sized setup you have. It is really tough to run of electric full-time with that solar!
Cool screen protection. Great stocking stuffer 🎁
Nice setup you have! Thanks for watching, have fun in BB!
Thanks for the screen saver tip!
You’re going to love the Wusthof knives! I upgraded my kitchen knives a few months ago and was blown away by how sharp they are. Have fun stocking your kitchen!
Good knives really do make a difference don't they! Thanks Joyce!
Whoohoo!
Bunches of love
Noelle
Thanks John! We'll do a bit of southern CA, but will be headed back to AZ mostly. If we get to LA we'll reach out!
Congrats on that electrical work and inverter. Pretty impressive skills
Question, how long have you been towing? And how do you like the Anderson weight distribution sway chains? Nice looking travel trailer.
We did a video on it a ways back th-cam.com/video/e7K_YnYBS7M/w-d-xo.html
undo the bolts on the anderson hitch
Will the tent eventually come off? Very happy for you guys. It's exciting to see how happy the two of you are in your new home. Thanks for sharing your joy with all of us.
Thanks David! We will keep the tent for now and use it for small trips. We already visited friends over thanksgiving and stayed in our tent!
Learned the container thing from someone’s video, love them
Love to see your journey!
Been really busy lately, and looking forward to catching up on your videos. Looks like y’all are really back in the swing of things!!
😁 thanks!
Im so happy for you guys that you settle down, enjoy and stay safe
Truck's pretty dirty from the rain.. 😆 no rain here in San Diego. 70's during the day and 50's at night. We only have Spring and Fall weather here.
Need a truck wash for sure! Can't beat that weather in San Diego! 😎
It was nice meeting you guys last week. Thanks for a tip on a site near Quartzsite to try out. We are headed that way Jan- Feb. Gotta use that solar on our Solitude. Safe travels guys!
Nice to meet you as well Richard! Safe travels and hope you had fun at Joshua Tree!
Check out laid back Alliance Community church in Salome!
I bet grocery shopping is so much easier now. You have great counter space. My Berkey takes up most of mine...
It really is! So much space we are not used to! 😊
Wow, that’s Thousand Trails. Did you visit the winery next door? Also, did you visit Jerome? Gum place!
Appreciate that, thanks! 😊
@@IreneIronTravels You teased us with telling us you were going to make tacos but we never got to see them! Lol
🤣 sorry.... long day of travel and filming! We do get into some blackstoning in the next episodes!
@@IreneIronTravels Boondocking with lithium, solar and the Blackstone. Life must start to feel like it’s getting close to perfect again. 💪🏻
Was that Verde Valley Thousand Trails you were leaving at the start of your video? Loved that place! Love your videos, thank you for sharing your beautiful adventures.
Yes it was! Thanks!
Love the desert sunsets! I’m in Quartzite too and loving the temps 🌵
The best, thanks Carman!
Do you need some kind of subscription to use the Wyze cameras? Or is it a local setup?
It has a free option which gives you 12 seconds of video and you can save to a memory card as well. The bad thing about the free version is it only records 12 secs and then waits 5 minutes to record again. But you can log on and see the live feed at any time. The paid subscription is like a $1.66 a month and gives you unlimited recording and also better detection and settings. I have one camera paid and one not, but will upgrade the second as well.....pretty cheap.
Be prepared to replace the torsion cup every year or so. Good news it only takes about 15 minutes.
Good to know, thanks!
Oh man.... glad you your ok!
Check out saddle mountain im in sun city we like it during the week , weekend gets busy , don't worry about the size, we have a 2001 dodge 2500 5.9 and a 28 ish foot trailer and love it boondocking in Arizona is GREAT.
Thanks! We haven't been to that area before and will check it out next time we are close.
Yep electric install great!
Curious how the bike rack set up worked during travel. Any issues/concerns? Assume your spare tire is in the truck now.
Love the music choices 👌
Yay! I’ve been waiting for this!
We switched to iPhones the first of the year and LOATHE them!!
Great music!
Thanks! 😊
Time for a cooking video!!! 😁
Definitely!!
I did have to cut alittle there
Just my 2 cents ….. I think the countertops would look better if they were soft gray.
And South Cattle Tank Road which is on my list when I leave here :)
Ah yesssss cattle tank road! Good memories! 😊🌵
