Eric B For waterfalls, sometimes just a CPL is all you need. From what I understand, Fotodiox’s CPL can reduce up to 3 stops of light on its own. I use their CPL in combination with their 5 stop ND filter (ND32) on sunny days and it’s more than sufficient in even the harshest of lighting conditions.
Great review, but you should really consider normalizing your audio. The jump between the transitional music and your spoken word is extremely drastic.
The FotoDiox system for mounting filters onto ultra wideangle lenses seems better than the Lee SW150 system - that's because the FotoDiox will accommodate Lee SW150 filters (much wider choice than FotoDiox offers), but the FotoDiox polarizer is far superior in design and usefulness than the Lee (square shaped) circular polariser.
Hey David, Thanks for making this video. I found it very interesting and helpful. Have a question for you. Are there any advantages of buying this lens and this filter system versus a Tokina 11-16 f2.8 DX II which has the ability to add filters? I do mainly video, but also photography. Thanks. Hope all is well. - Paul Harwood
Media Unlocked I'm also concerned about autofocus, which the Rokinon doesn't have that the Tokina does. But I have heard great things about both. I'm shooting on a Canon T3i and 7D. Thanks for getting back to me by the way.
Hi David, So I'll have a little question. Is it possible to use the polarized filter at the same time like this ND Filter? Or can you just put on 1 filter? I saw a set and both are included. Thank you for your answer. Greetings, Fabienne
F. Felder The FotodioX WonderPana 6.6" Holder Bracket provides two pairs of filter slots, a configuration that accommodates two compatible rectangular filters. For each rectangular filter that is placed within one of the holder bracket's slots, its position can be secured using the included brass long-screws. Pre-tapped threaded inserts along the outside of the holder bracket allow the long-screws to each apply pressure to a spring-loaded retainer within each filter slot. When a pair of the long-screws are used, the level of grip upon a rectangular filter can be varied, which can complement the use of graduated filters whose effect can be adjusted to better suit changing lighting conditions or creative demands by sliding them up or down within a filter slot. This FotodioX WonderPana FreeArc Core Unit includes front filter threads, which allow a FotodioX 145mm round filter to be used along with the holder bracket. If a 145mm round filter is used on the attached WonderPana FreeArc Core Unit, the rectangular filter slot closest to the rear of the holder bracket becomes unavailable. The WonderPana 6.6" Holder Bracket features a durable and lightweight aluminum-alloy construction that has a corrosion-resistant, black anodized finish. The FotodioX 145mm Center-Pinch Snap-On Lens Cap for Select WonderPana Systems and Filters is a 145mm front lens cap with a squeeze, spring, and snap-on mechanism. It is easy to install as well as remove, and can attach to a WonderPana 145, FreeArc, or Absolute filter holder system in order to protect the front element of a lens that any one of those systems are mounted on. Additionally, this lens cap can be used to protect a non-slim FotodioX WonderPana 145 filter that is mounted on a FotodioX WonderPana 145, FreeArc, or Absolute filter holder system and has no other filters placed in front of it. Lens caps protect your lens or filter from scratches, fingerprints, and the elements when the lens or filter is not in use.
Hi. Thanks for the video. New to photography. Am I to understand that this product is necessary for really wide angle lenses to prevent extreme vignetting? I have a Tokina 11-16mm but I've never added a filter on it so I don't know if it would exaggerate the vignetting. Is my assumption correct?
+Media Unlocked Are you only using this product because your lens doesn't have a front thread? Or you are using this to prevent vignetting on the wide angle lens. Sorry I wasn't clear on your response.
all of us who go out and shoot landscape alsways use our breath n fog the glass whether of lens or of filters but i make a prophecy there will be one guy who will say "ewww u just made ur glass dirty with ur acidic n oilish breath" i also own same combo 6d 14mm rokinon but this filter system is not available in my country lets see what else i can get
+Media Unlocked shipping costs, customs trust me I have tried many options n then it comes to make payment, don't even have PayPal etc options. So far i have tried someone buys things and then brings in hand carry.
I must admit that I was disappointed that you didn't have any water shots but I will keep looking elsewhere i guess. On a side note, you may want to consider adding some decor to the wall behind you when filming as your shirt blends in to much. I too have this lens and a 6D, but I also have a 7D which I imagine will take care of that pesky vignette problem.
Great review. Just bought the system. But I see they okay have a 3 stop 5 stop and 10 stop Nd filter. Which one would you recommend for waterfalls
Shaon Rahman awesome. Thanks for the tip

+PaulHarwood856 What are you shooting on? I am a huge fan of the Rokinon 14mm lens

+PaulHarwood856 You get used to the manuel focus
+Media Unlocked Ok cool I will keep this in mind! Thanks again for making this video, very interesting gear for the Rokinon.
Thanks for your video- is the circular ND filter variable through the 10 stops (for video and changing light) or fixed? Thank you
It is fixed

Could you use the circular polarizing filter on this system in conjunction with a Lee square ND gradient filter?
I do not think so.

+Tyr Anasazi Yes you would need a different filter for your lens though. Your lens needs a 77mm filter
+Media Unlocked Are you only using this product because your lens doesn't have a front thread? Or you are using this to prevent vignetting on the wide angle lens. Sorry I wasn't clear on your response.
+Tyr Anasazi I do not have threads on my lens
Good video, just the information I needed to know. Thanks
great!
So you`re saying that canon/nikon 14mm set will match to the rokinon 14mm as well? I want to buy so just asking.
