I work for a company in Houston. We have had several checks stolen from the mail, and so have some of our customers! It’s a mail employee or employees that are stealing them. The USPS is a mess in Houston !!!
I’ve been told by an inside source that the branch managers are not allowing their drivers to deliver every day, so that the managers can avoid overtime. They blame it on Missouri city, but then don't deliver mail at all at least once a week. Our entire neighborhood won't get any mail that day. We're all observing and tracking this as a group.
I don't think I'm getting mail every day, either. True, some days I just don't get mail, but there will be several days with none, then I get 5-6 pieces at once, and that isn't typical.
In my area there have been rumors of mail theft at the post offices for years. For a while many of us had greetings cards and checks never show up. I've personally witnessed piles of mail just dumped in the middle of a street like trash. I've had to request internal investigations twice and neither time was I ever contacted after I submitted the initial form, so I never found out what the results were.
It could have a little to do with the fact that it is time for mail-in voting again. DeJoy was originally installed in his position in order to mess up any timely delivery of mail in ballots.
Houston isn't the only place with problems of mail theft. We have it here in Pavillion, wyo. I have had at least two checks missing. One for $14, 000. From my insurance Co. Which ended up sending the replacement certified mail to guarantee it would arrive. All my outgoing mail is sent through other towns to guaranteeing arrival Accountability supervision is at Denver and is useless.. At Chrismas time missing incoming correspondence is at around 40 %.
It’s also because the Postal Service can’t say no…..We deliver letters/magazines, USPS parcels, FedEx parcels, UPS parcels, Amazon, Temu, Shein , and sale paper every Tuesday…….And mostly out of 35 year old vehicles that break down often
Sounds about right, and the consumers don’t seem to have that understanding…as a Rural carrier people are very ignorant to the fact that we have a whole route and not just delivering for a specific neighborhood as well. As a new comer in this industry it can be very discouraging hearing people constantly complain about things that are out of our control. Having to case multiple flats, organize parcels big/small and treys of mail for overburdened routes that are constantly growing all contributes to these delays. We’re not robots, we get tired too!lol🤷🏾♂️💆🏾♂️🚐💨
Do not forget we also deliver EDD and some type of advertisement every single day.... Marriage mail, Lawn Services, City booklets, Medicare, Costco, Snoe removal, Window replacements etc..................................
In Georgia our post office is losing package! Due to the post office! They dont care! I called 10 times and 2 weeks to get a toy! Post office manager blamed a sup mail carrier
I check my mail every day... I used to get one or two things every day, now it's like once every two weeks I get half a box full. And nothing ever in between.
many houses in our neighborhood did not get garbage pickup stickers and it's causing chaos with the trash sitting out on the curb collecting for the past week+ ... three months were paid back at end of first week of August and the check was cashed, and now we are in the third week of September and other neighbors claim the same thing
This has nothing to do with who they endorsed, but hey let’s stay ignorant lol. this has more to do with the hiring practices. They have been short for years so they changed some things up, like no drug tests which I heard they are bringing back. Hiring city carrier assistants certainly does not help with retention so when you go cheap you get what you pay for, not the people but the company itself. I take pride in my job and know every one I work with does as well. do not let a couple of bad apples destroy your view of the postal service. everybody is spreading conspiracies instead of telling what the real problem is, which is the starting pay, and current hiring practices. Nobody is going to sit around with a random schedule making under 20 dollars an hour when it could take years to be a regular, that’s after a CCA moves to be a PTF that’s city carrier assistant to a part time flex your hours are not guaranteed and you do not have a set schedule. Hopefully the new contract addresses all of these issues, other then that there needs to be some kind of buy out process to get some of the older carriers out so people can move up faster I have been to offices where it would take 10-15 years to become regular, there used to be no cap on cca’s now I think it’s two years, but then you move to PTF which you get benefits but you are not guaranteed hours. I hope they make some major adjustments this next contract or Im afraid it will never change.
Our Amazon delivery in Wyo. Is UPS, thank God. My Ebay purchasing is way down due to most shipments coming thru USPS. I try to avoid post office service whenever I can.
I don't like the postal service period thieves an constant delays u think cuz its federal things would done well look at what we live in an see how our government really cares.

This is why I stopped getting my prescriptions through the mail. It took 3 weeks to get something to Atlanta and that was enough for me.

Supervisors be stealing the mail I witness supervisors taking mail and I tell plant manager and they don't do nothing about it 🤔
I am experiencing this problem right now. When I live in Dallas, the delivery usually takes 3-4 days. Can't believe USPS in Houston is such a mess!

I do everything to avoid getting packages through the postal service. If I have an option I choose ups or FedEx even if it's more expensive
You’re doing exactly what Dejoy wants !!
@mast3397 I'm aware but I need my stuff including medications. It's use someone else or wait a few extra weeks or months.
77036 is stealing or it has most incompetent staff

News flash! Galveston USPS blames all undelivered mail to residents on Houston. 😞
Excuses, excuses. Bring back a system that works!
Getting rid of DeJoy would fix most of the problem so the system can be repaired.

What do you expect when City Carrier Union endorses Harris 😅
Man stfu!! This been going on waaay before her. Dumb as hell
This why why they are bankrupt
Get rid of the union and privatize the postal service .Problem solved .
