Okay. Can I just say that this woman is the best thing on the planet? Like seriously. I just binge watched about 30 videos just for the soul purpose of hearing her voice and her silly puns. Yes I plan on using her recipes and yes I am subscribing!
Does anyone else recall the Thursday after this came out, sitting around and thinking, "Hm, Titli's taking longer than usual with that next Nepal recipe"?
So, I'm actually here from that MLG parody video the gent made. I don't subscribe to cooking shows... like, ever. This is so straightforward though, so quick and easy to watch, and the lady is so pleasant to hear that I just subscribed. I think I see much more cooking in my future. :)
I just had these, for the first time, about a month ago when I located a Nepalese restaurant here in the Twin Cities. They were really tasty and reminded me of pot-stickers. The restaurant did several varieties: lamb, turkey, and even bison! Quite tasty!
I would recommend Chinese/Napa Cabbage (the cabbage used for making Kimchi, in the UK it's called Chinese Leaf) for the filling because it's has somewhat juicy stems and soft sweet leafy part. I think you would like it although you don't like white cabbage, because they're very different. Do they have it in the supermarket near you?
I've made them with the suggested vegetarian filling, and they're excellent - I didn't bother making a sauce, but they went well with Greek yoghurt with some salt in it.
Fatoş T.G. I love manti.. but my local teyse and my Turkish ma in law used to simmer them in water rather than steaming them ..... little lumps of deliciousness.... You don't live in Polygon do you Fatos my neighbour had the same name.. and she was a fab cook?
I want to make large amount of these, I followed your recipe and made manto Afghani, it came out great, but can I premarket them in large amount freeze them and steam later? also any suggestions for steaming a large amount? thank you
Brandon Clark They don't really differ much from their European lookalikes, like pelmenis, either. I'd say, steaming the dumplings instead of frying or boiling is the biggest difference here.
Where are the spices for the filling? The filling needs to be well spiced. Black pepper and soy sauce isnt enough. And traditionally it's served with a chilli garlic sauce.

Interesting, never heard of "Momos" before this. Can these be fried?
yes ... where I stay in Shillong, momos are fried and had.
Popular dish in Nepal, Bhutan, Tibet and North-east India.
