Whisky.com reviews the Dalmore 21 years. This 21-year-old Dalmore matured in American white oak ex-bourbon casks and first-fill sherry casks previously filled with 30-year-old Matusalem Oloroso sherry. For the 2022 Edition, sherry casks were exclusively handpicked from the world-famous Gonzales Byass Bodega.

Next to Macallan I find Dalmore to be the least interesting distiller in Scotland. Expensive, a lot of their range is at 40% ABV, and the bottle always looked over the top to me.
Absolutely 100%
And don’t forget that chilfiltration and e150 caramel
I’ve recently bought both with pretty high hopes.
Both brands were disappointing for the price.
Lately I’ve been getting more enjoyment from Irish whiskeys.
Great bang for the dollar.👍🥃
I totally agree. Their abv is between 40-43% and are overpriced. My latest purchases are Independent Bottlers at cask strength, natural color and non-chilled. They explode with flavor and even the 5 & 8 yr bottles are amazing to me.
Absolutely
Got to try the Dalmore 15 at a bar! It blew my mind on that so hopefully this is better!
I wish I started my whisky journey earlier, I might have been able to buy some 21 year old bottles.
This one is an outlier, that price is absolutely ridiculous. They think gluing a (plastic?) chrome stag head to their bottle justifies a 400% price hike.. yeah, no. So, there's likely to be a recession coming soon which is unfortunately/fortunately going to hit the scotch whisky world in a big way so, I'm pretty sure you'll be able to track down a few 21's at a reasonable price. Get the Glendronach 21 if you have the opportunity. Lochranza/Arran is a favourite distillery and their 21 is pretty nice at a really reasonable price. Unfortunately I wouldn't say it'll blow your socks off, but it's worth it.
I have a custodians millennial 2018 release which I bought at the distillery a couple of years ago.
How do you get the sample bottle?
Visiting the distillery
Tons of money into that packaging
And that giant metal deer looks ridiculous
@@robfut9954 it’s plastic, fell off my bottle once.
@@thosho lol that’s about right, they need to de-glam and just give us some 46% ABV bottling a that aren’t chill filtered so much.
I wish I could have a good relationship with my Dad just like Ben and Horst. You guys are wonderful and thank you for all the whisky 🥃 wisdom. Danke Schon.😊
The people that can afford this whisky and actually buy it, probably don't know what a great dram actually tastes like. That's the reality.
No, this 21 yr is not worth today's price. Dalmore along with Macallan are overpriced bottles. There are much better alternatives for a lot less money.
Brilliant 🇮🇪
Sounds yummy
