We had a chance to test the Lexus LX 570, it's a unique SUV who performs incredibly well in offroad!
We tested The crawl control that provides optimum throttle and brake modulation when maneuvering over rough, uneven or difficult terrain. The SUV will accelerate and keep a steady slow speed for maximum traction!
The other one is, Turn Assist which helps tighten the vehicle’s turning circle by adding more brake force to the inside rear wheel.
One word: WOW!

+Rabynovych and by the way, it's not that worse for the fuel, cause some trucks are way more thirsty than this one! the new transmission helps a lot!
i cant say but one thing is sure, that engine was in the first tundra in 2007... it will be soon a decade old! maybe in the next makeover of the tundra we will see another engine and much improved appear!

And the weight of this SUV, you need to carry it, for sure the fuel will always be what it needs to be. Maybe an HYBRID version soon???

It's amazing it was able to go up that muddy hill without momentum carrying it and with those tires on.

This is really an amazing off road traction system. If it performs like this in such slippery muddy conditions , this beast would get through anything else you can throw at it , including snow and frozen off road conditions.It looks like competitors in this class would have a hard time beating this.

Kay Abtin Plus proper set of tires (A/T tires or M/T for a really hardcore) and it will go everywhere you point it at, only certain SUVs could do that too eg: Range Rover, Grand Cherokee, Wranglers, Patrol, Touareg or Cayenne (with off road package),Geländewagen and GLS or GLE with off road engineering package

Awesome! I’ve read all about this vehicle’s attributes, but watching it is absolutely amazing. It’s as magical as watching an F-22 fighter jet maneuver.
i liked how it locked the rear tire when you were turning. that was new to me!
I am absolutely speechless!! Obviously the tires were not off road,and yet the system managed somehow to push that over 2 tons fortress over the muddy hill!!! Lexus are magicians! I dont believe that even the G class would do that with these tires.

CarQuestion Yes,it is,no doubt! But have you been in one? The ride will get you visit to your dentist,and the luxury doesnt come even close to LX. if that thing has a match on off road-luxury,it is only the Range Rover:)

Please somebody tell me if this car better than Landcruiser in performance and reliability. I just plan to buy it next month and it makes me so confuse to pick which is better.
Powertrain is just as reliable as landcruiser, probably the electronics like the entertainment system/digital dashboard is less reliable than the toyota less high tech offerings.
It's just a luxury version of the Land cruiser.
It's a land cruiser with Lexus badge slapped on top.
Had a LX470 2001 for 14 years, are they now protecting the height suspension sensors and others with rubber boots now or something? Had to replace them often, and if you drive in that kind of dirt, hope they do...
And that's with street tires and is pretty amazing
the brakes sounds like its making music from the inside but at the same time sounds like a ship breaking apart... still non the less, it's still a pretty awesome system

That turn assist function is pretty cool. Why can't the 4runner get that? All it is is software telling the rear brake to engage while turning...

something towards that of good & bad bec I acknowledge from some tests & observing system function & traction system that Toyota (Lexus) uses this system as an alternative to other systems that have instantaneous locking of traction detecting slippage;
however nobody would like to remain on a slick or wet hill for 4 min & if the premium truck can commit to drifting on wet or semi slick surfaces at least some additional aero downforce to prevent roll over or loss of control
+Muhammad M Salaam i dont see your point with that video and "drifting" on hill.... :( in regular use of that 4wd system, when you see a hill this big, you give it some gaz! right now the demo was to show how the truck dont need any assist to get ultimate traction in slippery condition.

Rofl the Raptor couldn't even compete in the Baja 1000 until 2017 because it kept breaking down. The LX, landcruiser and tacoma have all won in the stock class for years. The Raptor is notorious for bending its frame too. The 2017 model finally fixed it. Also the interior is trash

The crawl control, is a full automatic system that helps you in mud and snow or when you get stuck, just by redistributing the power to wheels with traction and accelerate automatically. It's sound weird, but it works great! Basically, you don't need to do anything but steering.
Cool I suppose, but that abs sure does sound terrible inside lol. What happens if you use turn assist on dry pavement ??

Why in the hell is it locking up the inside rear tire? I know vehicles and am an MX Tech so I know vehicles use the brakes for their traction control. Just never seen that before. I actually own a Lexus es 350 and had bought my ex an es 300, but I think I might sell my ES350 and get this. It would go nicely with my ZR2. That 5.7 was a pig on gas though in the truck, I could watch the needle go down pulling a trailer with 1 quad. My Envoy Denali got better mileage with the 5.3L V8 towing an S10 Blazer than the Tundra unloaded.
it's a feature called Turn Assist ! You press that button and it lock the inner wheels!

I am quite impressed by the capability of crawl control and the turns (how it locks one rear wheel to achieve less slip)
However, what is bad is that such expensive and luxury car bothers the occupants with that incredibly bad sound of brakes/ABS sounds. Until they resolve this, they cannot match the sheer effortlessness of Range Rover or G Wagen.

Impressive, but those approach angles on the bodywork are awful. Reliability is king, but I’m certain a Range Rover would tackle anything and more that any Lexus could do, unfortunately it’ll be in the garage a fair bit more.

Most off road vehicles would struggle with that slope at slow speed. Most would use brute force or enter at speed to use momentum.
