I loved the Dior Homme Fall/Winter 2007 collection. For me that was Hedi at his best. He's definitely cemented himself in the pantheon of great men's designers, but I don't feel like there has been much of an evolution in terms of his creative vision since taking over at YSL. The collections for both women's and mens feel .. I don't know, safe. I understand what he's doing right now but it's hard for me to get excited about the Men's collection for Saint Laurent as I feel it's stuff I've already seen before, which is unfortunate because I really want to like it. But hey, the clothes are selling and Saint Laurent is making a profit, which is all that really matters because this is a business after all. Maybe that was his strategy all along; play it safe and make looks that the young masses will eat up and after your huge success at retail you'll have more creative freedom and leeway from the higher ups to take risks in the future collections.
i thought Hedi Slimane made YSL Homme most exciting before he went to Dior Homme, and carried on with his evolution at Dior. i wish to see vids of those last collections he did there when Saint Laurent was still alive.
I feel that his move to YSL wasn't really a good one. In the recent collections I just see what he did for Dior under a new name. I do miss his being at Dior. All those collections he did were amazing.

J'aime bien cette collection Dior Homme. Elle fait osée, elle a un point de vue, elle est risquée. Par comparaison, ce qu'il a fait à YSL faisait Zadig et Voltaire, The Kooples. Hyper mainstream et middle of the road. Et ce qu'il fait maintenant chez Céline est ennuyant. Très bobo et plan plan.
